  1. Pump-priming anyone?
  2. So let's be clear here "DebatetheBait@48" - what you are alleging is this: Someone bought a phone from Khans It turned out to be faulty They tried to return it and demand a refund They were told "no" by staff at Khans Upon complaining they were summarily beaten up by members of Khans staff These are serious allegations with serious legal implications. I hope you are aware of that. You should not post rumour or hearsay. Do you know the person this happened to? Have you reported it to the the police? What was the outcome?
  3. Michael Palaeologus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > or, it shows that she put her career as a cabinet > minister before the wishes of her Constituents. How would you know what they were? Poll everyone on every issue? Or do you assume you were elected with the electorate aware of your position in government and that you would have to vote with the government on every issue or resign your cabinet seat? This is the nature of our democracy.
  4. Posting her voting record is completely pointless. All it shows is a lack of understanding of collective cabinet responsibility.
  5. For what it's worth, the review is spot on. I was also quite excited when they first opened but now only go there under duress or if I'm desperate despite it being on my doorstep. The description of "tight lipped and taciturn" is bang on the money.
  6. Yes - we all know what you're talking about and you know it's been dealt with privately between you and Admin so maybe let that one drop, eh.
  7. Then please, I beg you, stop reporting. For a few weeks. Then see if the Business Section has collapsed into anarchy or continues running pretty well with stuff dealt with in the same way it always has been. If not, then go back to your keyboard with gusto.
  8. Gidget, seriously, just relax. Whilst I'm sure your continual reporting of messages in the business section is well intentioned, it is driving us all potty. You've already been asked once to only report serious breaches of forum rules and yet you persist in reporting every petty offence you come across. Please, stop it.
  9. *chuckle* If only both of the people involved in this argument had a lengthy history of intemperate bickering, airing laundry in public and arguing over inconsequential matters that no one gives two shits about.
  10. Prince Albert on Bellenden Road is of the old-school variety. No food (bar ready salted or cheese'n'onion) and plenty of sport. Went to the Cherry Tree on Sat evening for a quick drink and thought it was quite pleasant. Much nicer than the Vale. Reasonable too. It does suffer from just being too big though - at least with no dividing walls which tends to make pubs feel drafty and unwelcoming. A snug or lounge/saloon divide would be amazing but is much harder to replace than remove. Have heard good reviews of the food and the menu (esp. the fish) sounded good so will pop back for that at some point.
  11. KK - this was a first hand account from a colleague of mine. A man who I would trust implicitly and not prone to hyperbole.
  12. Otta - if I told you most of them were poorly spelt too. The stupidity of the whole things makes the mind boggle. If you want to protest at shop owners using excessive force in dealing with thefts, all well and good, but I don't think race is an issue. Beyond the fact that Asians own the shop and Africans are stealing from it.
  13. Placards and chants of "Go back to Paki-land" and "Go back to where you're from" would seem to suggest the racism isn't only coming from Khan's employees.
  14. Absolutely - we're on Maxted Road if you are still in need.
  15. Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > David, it's a wind-up. Jezza - it's too late for me. Just save yourself.
  16. The virus, which causes severe flu-like symptoms, is not infectious or contagious.
  17. My bigger problem with Wagamamma, aside from stifling independent business by hiking up rents, would be their appalling food. Mass produced gunk-covered meat and pretty average bowls of soup-a-like for a big pile of golden nuggets. I'd prefer a Pho if we must have some vaguely-east-Asian-cuisine chain.
  18. Second for the Crooked Well. Also the Bear in Camberwell. Victoria is ok and family friendly but you can feel "unloved" when eating there on a busy Sunday. It gets hectic for staff and customers alike. The kids room is handy though.
  19. The Magdalen. But I'd second Zucca - amazing.
  20. THIS THREAD! DO IT HERE......IN THE LOUNGE. It really doesn't matter what section it's in does it??? You'll get more people in here anyway. And if I recall, you already have a thread discussing the Peckham plan and plans for the station. Would reviving that one be another option?
  21. Is that the new Hanson single?
  22. There's an argument that Vaughn capitalised on Hussein's good ground work. And I think he had a better set of players to work with than Strauss has had. And to say "right place, right time" for someone who won Ashes home and away seems harsh. Great win ratio. Lacking in batting towards the end, but chose to fall on his sword than be dropped. A wise and generous move.
  23. I don't give a fuck about the maps. Seriously....if you want to talk about the Peckham Plan, just do it. Stop fussing about which bit of the forum it goes on and whether it also needs to include East Dulwich etc etc. Do you have any idea how anal it appears? Just talk about the plan. Or don't. I don't care. Just stop posting endless pictures maps and boundaries. I'm off to curl up into a ball in a hole now and rock myself to death.
  24. Oh for the love of all that is holy, all of you STOP. The "what constitutes East Dulwich?" debate has been done to death umteen times. The thread is here. Leave it here. Just talk about the issues. Sheesh.
