I lived in a block of flats called Innis House in East Street and watched those old hoses being demolished to make way for the abomination that is the Aylesbury estate. It ripped the community apart.
  3. So Le Boss thinks working for Real Madrid would be an interesting project. I wonder how interesting he will find it working for a club where the manager doesn't always pick the 11 players to start a match or the players signed to the club. I can't see it myslef but we are approaching the end of the season and the tabloid hacks have got column inches to fill.
  4. She' a bit like the osboune kids, only in the public eye because mummy and daddy are famous, same as the waste of space that is Peaches Geldof, who probably takes after her late mama.

Sorry to contradict you, but that saying was around long before the bug eyed Mr Lydon sold his soul to country life

I thought only Millwall fans were "proper" people, at least that's what they used to tell me when I moved to East Street Market in the middle 60's.
  7. Butters has got sod all to do with Mr Lydon (a top gooner) it means butt ugly, hence butters.
  8. Lilly Allen's not nice, she's butters as my 18 and 16 year old boys would say. And I most certainly wouldn't, and nor would my sons!!
  9. Lilly Allen makes novelty records, which is about all you can say about her.

It's interesting is it not, how Manc fans get touchy when anybody mentions this. As for the best team winning the league, I can see both sides of the argument. You can't argue with the fact that the team with most points wins the league, or the better goal difference if two teams are level on points, but it is also true that best (the team that's played the most attractive and skillful football consistently) team hasn't always won the league. And I defy anyone to tell me Man Ure have played the best footie all season cos they haven't, they've got the most points so they've won the league. Fair play to them. Unfortunately Man Ure and Chavski ( spuds is a given obviously) bring out the worst traits of m footballing character, Chavski because they represent all that is most distasteful about the game currently, and Man Ure because they seem to have an unholy smugness about them and seem to believe they have some kind of divine right over and above every other football club on the planet. As I say that is my view, but seems to be shared by many others from many, many clubs across many continents.
  13. I was looking out for the "White Pele" yesterday, but he didn't appear, mind you Shrek was on the pitch......................oh sorry, that was Rooney. I have to admit I was very pleased with our performance, and was baffled by Man Ure, not one shot on target. Roll on Champs League final, come on Barca. I've never supported any other English team in the Champs League and I'm not about to change the habit of a lifetime. Just a footnote to Mancs winning the title, did anyone notice that only one of the 6 or so people interviewed by sky sports outside old stratford after the game had a Manc accent?? Interesting.
  14. Flog it! on BBC
  15. Oh dear, our little Russian maestro will never endear himslef to women with comments like this. Arshavin has a few choice opinions on women drivers: "I would never give driving lessons to women. We need to build a few new roads for them. Why because you never know what to expect from them," he said. Thanks for those enlightened words Andry, I would suggest you stick to football and leave social commentary to others.
  16. I've just seen a posting on this thread saying that Wayne Rooney is the White Pele, you have got to be pulling my plonker. Pele was a graceful, artistic player. Now I ain't saying Rooney isn't a good player, but Pele he ain't.
  17. Don't worry Keef I'd be very surprised, and hugley elated if we get a result tomorrow.
  18. In fairness most refs have been poor this eason, but it's not always the refs fault when your side loses, sometimes it's just because the oppostion were better than you, or on occasions have had the rub of the green. I've no complaints about were we've ended up in the league.
  19. I'm only going to comment the Mancs against the Arsenal game. Mancs 3 - Arsenal 0 Well done to the Mancs for retaining the title.

This joke was sent to my by text two weeks ago. Could have been worse, the burglar could have gone to a Spurs players house, taken one look and the empty glass cabinets collecting dust for over 50 years and left behind an Untouchables 49 games unbeaten DVD to show them how it's done.
  22. Fair play Millwall, good luck in the final.
  23. My my we are all getting a bit carried away here. The bit by david_carnell about the big 4 spending billions is not quite correct, Le Boss has stubbornly refused to spend any money at all on established players, Arshavin being the exception to the rule. I like to watch football being played well, not kick and rush or shaven headed thugs trying to kick the living shit out of the opposition because they are not as gifted as their opponents, and Stoke aren't the first to resort to such tactics and I'm sure they won't be the last. That doesn't mean I have to like it and it's not sour grapes, it's not pleasing on the eye, they are about as easy on the eye as a needle through the retina. I say again good people, I hope Stoke are relegated for the sake of the beautiful game, which is an alien concept to such sides. I can't believe Tony Pullis is being touted as manager of the season, has everyone totally missed the brilliant efforts of Woy Hodgson. The man has done miracles at Fulham, and they play the right way. And they don't spend billions.
  24. Stoke are shit, full stop. Let's hope they get what they richly deserve, relegation
  25. I've been following the Arsenal since 1968 and haven't forgotten the bad times, but Stoke are awful and I'd love see them go back down, as well as any team Allardyce has been involved with except for Toon. THe prem has, and has had for some time, 3 layers. The top four, the middle 13, and the bottom 3 who are usally the teams that came up the year before. I can't see that changing as the top four are the ones with the dosh (except Chavski who will be in shit street as soon as the russian mafiosi buggers off) and the rest of the division can only hope for such riches. Man City is a bubble waiting to burst, as is all of Football potentially.
