Keef, as far as I'm concerned it's all banter, and yes I'm as guilty as anyone else of winding peoiple up , and not just SP. I'm afraid Man Ure bring out the worst in me and I can't help myself, I know I should try to get over my hatred of them but I can't, and I genuinely do despise them more than Spurs and only marginally less than Chavski. I've had to put up with some shit in the past on this forum, but what you gonna do eh? Oh well, c'est la vie.
  2. My late father arrived in London in 1955 & as a matter of choice chose to mix with other Turkish Cypriots in the various shady gambling dens & card schools in both North & South East [he later opened his own dodgy card school above a shop we owned in Peckham]. He once explained to me the reason he mixed with his fellow islanders was because they spoke the same language, had the same culture, same religous beliefs, etc & felt no kinship with Londoners of another race, colour, or creed. I on the other hand was born and bred in London, have some affinity with Turkish Cypriots for obvious reasons but also for obvious reasons, namely shared experiences and so on, I'm more at home with people born & bred here

I think they should get on their collective bike and find alternative employment. Workers rights, what are they thinking of? They'll be wanting time off to die next.

  6. Yes she could sell us everything we thought we already had a stake in such as utilities. What a dleightful person she is nearly as sacred as the dear old queen mum. FFS.

Tony, as I'm sure you'll be aware, when we were kids if you had an argument with someone if we progressed to violence it was a straight forward punch up and when it was all over is was forgotten. These people, apart from being so far beneath contempt it beggars belief, are nothing but cowards, pure and simple. They hunt in packs and use knives cos they can't fight.

You've just over reached yourself, careful you don't have people accusing you of placing spittle flecked rants on here and saying that you are a far right supremacist taking on vigilante duties in your spare time.

I lived in East street for approximately 12 years between the early 60's to the middle 70's and occasionally went back to visit my late grandmother until her death 1n 2005. The market is not as it used to be as the mix of races, cultures, since that time has changed markedly so the demand for the products that the stalls used to sell is not in demand as much as they used to be. It is a shame nonetheless, as I have many happy memories of shopping in the "Lane" as a child with my mum and later as a teenager when I used to buy some of my records from A1 stores in the Walworth Road and May Smiths toy shop at the top of East Street, and my Levis, Sta Press, Ben Shermans, Brutus shirts, tonic trousers from Fox's outfitters, where the actor somtime club bouncer "Nosher" Powell used to serve. Happy days indeed.

The question is neither irrelevant nor is it a diversion. Is is just as relevant as anything you have posted, perhaps you don't have an answer in which case don' t bother posting an irrelevant response
  19. Keef thanks for that, I can rely on you for grounded sensible commentary, unlike some that believe their view is gospel and beyond reproach & turn purple with righteous indignation when you dare to express a view contrary to their own. Cheers mate
  20. Is it not a fair question wolfman?
  21. Out of interest & in no more than 2 sentences what do you feel is a just punishment for murder where the evidence against the criminal is beyond doubt?

  25. I'm sure many of you on EDF have read/heard about the tragic case of a 14 year old lad you was knifed and killed in a random gang attack in East London. The lad himslef had no association with a gang. AS he was being punched and kicked to the ground he screamed in pain and called out for his mum. The alleged assailant was heard by witnesses to have said that the victime would "feel my shank". I'm guessing that ther are those of you on this Forum would say that the knifeman should be told in no uncertain terms that he is a very naughty boy and mustn't do such horrid things ever again. He should then be given some form of counselling so that he can, at some point in his life, be valuable to society by offering the benefit of his considerable social skills and life experience. After all the poor mite has obviously suffered some kind of trauma to act in such a nasty way. And if none of this works we let him back into society and no doubt some other inocent bystander will "feel my shank". Oh well never mind, these things are sent to try us eh? I hope this is a reasonable, articulate and non spittle flecked and meets with the approval of d carnell, Mr MaGabhann and Bob. I trust you are all enjoying your day.
