  1. If you purport to be FOCC although in reality the organisation is just a made up name, but aside from that, why don't you clear and keep clear the path to VC Stanlake?s grave, rather than continually bleating about woods (although they are not really woods are they) and nature and history and heritage and start doing something positive to make a difference to the overgrowth taking place around his grave. Probably you don't think it's your responsibility do you? Well.
  2. This has NOTHING to do with a wretched game of oneupmanship, it is ALL about highlighting, and holding people to account when they have blatantly lied and distorted the truth to suit their own argument.
  3. And are ssw going to pay for any such works, surely if they want it they should fund it.
  4. So, its back to supposed burial discrimination for the time being then is it? Why don't you try and take Southwark to the Equal Opportunities Commission, can't wait to see you get laughed out the door.

    The Big Lie

We need immigrants, as they do jobs the native workers do not want to do, like pick fruit and veg in the fields, drive buses and trains, sweep the streets, empty the bins, nurse the sick in hospitals etc. Without these people doing the jobs they do, parts of this country would quickly grind to a halt.
  6. Southwark have not engaged with your group because of the way you have conducted this campaign in particular with the Council Officers. 1. Burial needs assessment - what purpose would that serve, their is a need in the borough for burial and cremation, they provide that service, you just object to any burial or cremation. 2. Environmental impact assessment - of what, oh you mean the trees that propagated in the over grown bits of the cemeteries. 3. Consult with families, they did, did you not see the notices on the entrances to the cemeteries? 4. Count all the trees felled, what benefit would that serve, a waste of time doing so? 5. Contact the Environment Agency - what purpose would that serve? 6. Contact CWGC - the CWGC have no issues with Southwark and where changes have been highlighted, Southwark will amend their plans accordingly. 7. Financial details - they obviously don't want you interfering any further, so only provide you with what is essential. Again the vast majority of this falls back on you in the way you have attempted to conduct your campaign. As I have said numerous times before, you need to work with and not in opposition to Southwark if you want to achieve anything, plus what is happening with the Injunction you wanted to serve on Southwark?? Probably the only thing we seem to agree on is the scandal of Southwark allowing part of the cemeteries to become overgrown wildernesses which is being corrected and you object to. The difference is that were people like trimmed hedges, bushes and lawns and spring bulbs in rows, you clearly don't and prefer weeds and brambles.
  7. What are you going to do when the planning committee approve the works as they will undoubtedly do and then proceed with the works? Are you and Lewis going to chain yourself's together in the Council chamber, now that I'd like to see!!!!!! And finally, you have not answered the question I asked about serving the injunction on the council, have you now dropped the idea?
  8. I agree that it is a scandal that Southwark allowed part of the cemeteries to become overgrown wildernesses, this is being put right with the works they are undertaking which those paying council tax are funding. If these works did not take place monuments (like the angel you recently posted on here) will become even more and more in-twined by brambles and weeds, making them additionally dangerous, nature always takes control unless man intervenes and takes control. As has been so elegantly explained above to you and for the umpteenth time, it is CWGC who are responsible for identifying and marking war graves, what bit of this can you not grasp. Clearly as your attempt to use the issue of war graves is being so well rebuffed you are reverting to your other weak card of religious discrimination of the burial service, oh how very sad of you to do this and how low will you stoop? Only if you have had to bury someone, would you even start to understand the importance of having a place to go and remember and mourn them. You have said nothing recently about the injunction you intended to serve on Southwark, perhaps you'd like to provide an update of your progress with this? So finally, this is NOT a project, it is planned works which will continue till its completion providing new burial plots for those who want to bury their deceased relatives locally.
  9. Less of ls and back to debating the cemeteries please.
  10. Yes please, would really appreciate a copy if the map.
  11. It's sickening and disrespectful both to those who died, their families and God. If you think the murder of 22 innocent people is something to joke about, makes you nothing less than SCUM.
  12. Why oh why can you not see reason, the cemeteries are working cemeteries being used for there intended purpose. What you consider woods are infect over grown scrub which the council CLEARLY neglected for years and realising the imminent shortage of burial space, are clearing those areas for new burials, nothing wrong with that. Is that not the better option than starting to use Honor Oak Rec ground for new burials?? Plans take time to develop and prepare, but a plan can be altered, however your approach scuppered any hopes of achieving that. Simply put, your attempts at running this campaign have spectacularly failed because you seem incapable of discussing/negotiating with the community or authorities about the matter. The approach taken seems to be either do what we want or we'll continue to run an aggressive campaign using all sorts of spurious arguments to get our own way, and ignoring or distorting the facts to suit yourselves. You want to preserve nature, can you explain what you mean by preserving nature? Nature is all around us and again as has been explained we have an abundance of green spaces and are spoilt about the amount we have here to use for recreational purposes. Having a picnic in a cemetery is in my opinion just plain weird!!!! I would not want people having a picnic on an adjacent grave I was visiting, or people running or cycling past. Perhaps you have not experienced that yet??? Cemeteries are supposed to be quiet, peaceful and tranquile places to allow reflection and memories of relatives or friends buried there. Re-using graves that are 75+years old although not ideal is a way of further managing the lack of burial space. Take a look at the monuments of those graves that are un-kept and some of which are no longer legible. It is also highly likely that the graves/monuments are no longer visited by the family as they have also passed away or moved away. Part of the problem is after the deceased are buried unfortunately some graves are not maintained by families, hence the move towards rows of graves. Just as World War 1 and 2 graves are laid out in Commonwealth cemeteries. Row upon row of graves, why is that, because it is much easier for the authorities to maintain the cemeteries so keeping them looking respectable. Have you ever seen a Commonwealth cemetery that is over grown? Nope. Their is a balancing act between being able to continue to bury the deceased locally or not having any space to use. What is the alternative, you propose the NIMBY approach and as I understand it to use land in another borough. All that does is move the issue elsewhere. BTW the monument you have chosen looks like nature is doing what it does if uncontrolled, taking over, in time the entire monument will be covered with foliage, and the angle looks unstable. (And do you have permission to publish photos of other peoples graves???)
  13. Do you agree that CWCG are on the case, and where issues are identified they are highlighting these and seeking alternatives? Because from the screenshot letter it seems so doesn't it.
  14. Looked at the small size screenshot you provided, one grave is adjacent to a pathway, the other appears that the CWCG were on the case, I would hope Southwark will respond accordingly and make amendments to their plans, no reason for them not to as it was identified.
  15. You are NOT the Friends of Camberwell Cemeteries because FOCC is not recognised and has no legal status You "showed no interest or knowledge of the war graves until 2017" Clearly roads, footpaths, terraces or other structures will not be built over any grave - this is a ludicrous thing to state. It's really interesting that you have only written to CWCG TODAY, when you have known about this from the start of the year, what stopped you if as you say you are so concerned. I tend to believe that you are only using this because everything else you have done has, well quite frankly has failed and you're now clutching at any straw you can find. Have you asked yourselves why and how you have managed to rub up practically everyone you've come into contact the wrong way, so alienating yourselves, strange that really.
  16. "We've just published the names of the 131 First World War soldiers missing in the old cemetery. Many, if not most, were local - coming from East Dulwich, Nunhead, Camberwell, and Lewisham. Their graves are at risk of being buried over or having roads built on top of them." You actually do not know where there graves are either? More grasping at short straws, so have you contacted CWGC to discuss this or ask their advice? Have you asked to search Southwarks records ? Camberwell Authority (sorry, cannot recall it's proper name) to see where these graves are, suggest you get proactive and do something positive, rather than publish unsubstantiated stories. But you can't because FOCC / ssw are unaccountable, unrecognised and do not exist, well not until you form a recognised organisation like FONC, but didn't they want nothing to do with you?
  17. How can you have a family day when FOCC and ssw don't even exist, they're mere figments of your imagination, well that's if you can call it imaginative, now let me see, NO imagination whatsoever.
  18. thought Nunhead started from the Nun's head pub around there, how do you class Hollydale Road, St.Mary's Road - always thought of them being in Peckham; Nunhead is as link below; http://media.rightmove.co.uk/map/_generate?width=360&height=380&polygonFillColor=%232E8E8914&polygonLineColor=%232E8E89FF&mapPolygon=umdyHflJhFfBtHfQhDbPjDvBjXrGb%5EiC%60e%40ayAToTuOyQcYbAiLq%40wPfJiFnFwOpNuSjKiClc%40&signature=OcqQP2I_bi4oh8xWmb81j3EYSdw= - Forgot to add, nothing wrong with living in Peckaham
  19. As you have not had the courtesy to provide answers I'll do it for you. 1. Who are the Officers of FOCC? We don't have none 2. Where is the constitution of FOCC and is it publicly available? What's a constitution???? 3. Are FOCC meetings minuted and where are the meeting minutes published? Naaaaaa, we meet down the pub 4. What is the relationship between FOCC and SSW? Errr well, errrrrrr, their ain't one 5. How are FOCC funds managed? "As if we are doing this for the money" 6. When are you actually serving Southwark Council with an injunction? Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, we're STILL thinking about it. And finally Why were you barred by FONC? Well, we was outside. So, FOCC is really just made up, just like the whole rest of ssw, its all one big shenanigans, nuff said, nuff time wasted, lots of hot air and plenty of inaction.
  20. You say you are FOCC, well in my book, that quite simply makes you ACCOUNTABLE, so I ask again; 1. Who are the Officers of FOCC? 2. Where is the constitution of FOCC and is it publicly available? 3. Are FOCC meetings minuted and where are the meeting minutes published? 4. What is the relationship between FOCC and SSW? 5. How are FOCC funds managed? 6. When are you actually serving Southwark Council with an injunction? And finally Why were you barred by FONC? And by the way, if you cannot or fail to answer what in effect are some Very easy questions, I believe you are unfit to call yourselves FOCC. Let's have the debate, that's what I and others are seeking from you, and that includes answering questions that are asked of you as you state you are FOCC.
  21. Lewis, it's not about money it's about accountability, so why are the questions so troublesome for you to answer?
  22. Are these questions to hard for you to answer as you much prefer to ignore them? It really is not hard you know. 1. Lets continue the debate!!!!!!!!!
  24. Please can we return to the debate being had predominately by Penguin and Blanche for ssw. BTW the crosses are there to mark the grave and because the ground needs to settle following an internment, before a headstone can be put set in place. It is a normal procedure. I do not believe anyone is "slagging off Lewis", posters are just speculating about what he is in it for.
  25. Saw one on Forest Hill Road going into Brenchley Gardens with its handler last week, they're getting closer day by day.
