  1. plus time wasters who want every last detail and then don't bother to view, arghhhhhhhhhhh
  2. Have you tried contacting St. Giles Trust in Camberwell or if not then St. Mungo's.
  3. Good luck Sue, enjoy making your cardboard model and hope all goes well with JL and the freezer. Could be very chilly if you experience problems with JL, but hopefully not.
  4. missed out Horniman's Gardens!!!!
  5. Please do not put anything down that harms any animal or bird
  6. Yes, foxes are beautiful creatures, I totally agree. but aren't they scavengers, much like a dog always looking for the next thing to eat? What I do not like is them marking and pooing everywhere and being a general nuisance in the garden. IMO foxes are wild creatures and should be in the countryside, they are not natural town animals. It is us humans who have encouraged them into cities and so they scavenge for food (quite often discarded take away food). That compounded by people feeding them makes them less wary of us humans. They become bolder and make homes on unused land etc. Naturally they breed and so more foxes are about. Don't get me wrong, yes they are beautiful to look at but not in towns, Sorry.
  7. How about when you need to open the lid, will there be enough space above for this?
  8. After a fab drive and a last lap over take Max Verstappen was robbed of 3rd place by the Stewards. At least be consistent in applying the rules.
  9. community run bookshop??
  10. really and all the poo they leave around, horrible beasts.
  11. Never seen anything like that before in my life.
  12. Paid breaks, you're getting these each day, guess you don't have fire evacuation each day, so can't see the hardship of carrying a walkie talkie, if you planned it, one of you could go to the shop whatever and the others cover. Tickets - they're free, what else can they give you?? Free eye tests (for those using screens, Cycle to work scheme, Free popcorn, soft drinks and hot drinks - they are offered, if you don't use them that is your choice, but they ARE offered. 30% off all food and beverages - Again its offered, if you don't choose to make use of the offer that is your choice. Late night working allowance - provision has been made, if you get out before midnight isn't that a win for you, rather having to stay after midnight. Its called working smarter, not harder. Living wage - can't answer that, suggest you speak with your manager. Seems they are trying to offer staff things, if the staff do not want to make use of what is on offer, that's their choice. Apologies if this sounds harsh, but when you break it down they are trying to give the staff things, reduced this, reduced that, free this, free that.
  13. Hey, really to sorry to hear this happened to your son, I hope he's not to shaken up and that they catch the scrot who did this. Did you get a chance to inform the school?
  14. ED continues to evolve over time like many high streets, as was said by an earlier poster, businesses come and go, even chains, i.e. Iceland on LL and over the years Sainsbury's, M&S, C&A, Dunn & Co etc in Peckham. Nothing is forever.
  15. They are a great resting place if you are old and need to rest or likewise infirm or perhaps have a medical condition and a good place to stop and catch your breath, Well done Councillors a fab idea and installation. Yes, a piano in the market area, now that could be fun.
  16. So the change to M&S wasn't so bad in the end?
  17. Iceland vacating LL has made no difference to either what or where I shop, and even with M&S I rarely find the need to use this store. Of course the change of Iceland to M&S was going to have an impact on who went shopping where. I would not have thought previous Iceland customers were likely to shop in M&S.
  18. Yeah, just blame gentrification for those 4x4 yummy mummy tractors (totally unnecessary in London) and as for those wood burning stoves and garden pits people enjoy, and that stink the air, well I never!!
  19. Why would Waitrose be preferable? And does East Dulwich really need another M&S that will be similar in size to the current store, unless they're planning on catching more of the business from being next to the station?
  20. Thanks Admin for this.
  21. I am 99% sure their was a thread about defibrillators and now cannot find it? What happened to the thread?
  22. Peckham or East Dulwich? Whilst parts of Peckham have seen astronomical increase in property prices, ED has also seen its fair share as well. So where would I prefer to live given the chance, it's got to be ED by a mile, just compare Rye Lane to Lordship Lane. Only three things bring me to Peckham, the station, Morrison's as required, some of the banks and Lidl. The rest of it, sorry but no thanks.
  23. Last Friday in DKH Sainsbury's, they had already cleared top shelves of usual products (relegated to lowest shelve) in the cake isle and replaced with Christmas goods ALREADY. It's only September, commercialisation gone stark raving mad. Does anyone buy Christmas products this early????????
  24. No, NO sympathy for the postman, I don't appreciate junk mail, does the PO not understand they are proliferating a mountain of waste paper that people do not read and it goes straight in the bin, that then gets collected by the recycling dustmen. Such a waste of everyone's time.
