  1. Seems things have deteriorated further at Forest Hill Road Group Practice. I had to hang on for 30+ mins to speak with a Receptionist today to resolve a simple issue. I just hope the Practice can survive, seems the current approach is to inform Patients appointments are available at the Lister Centre in Peckham Road as an alternative.
  2. Leave the packaging behind at the supermarket to dispose off. Try buying products not wrapped in plastic, look for items in boxes, try not to use so many plastic bags when buying fruit and veg, or buy from the greengrocers who put everything in brown paper bags. Ask the butcher to wrap in paper rather in plastic bags.

  4. Was in DKH Sainsbury's this morning, used the self checkouts no problem, no fuss, really can't see what the problem is, each to their own I suppose!!!!!
  5. Yeah, it's really inconvenient, the sooner it is back on route the better.
  6. I am with the Post Office via Talk Talk and for the last two weeks have experienced problems, two visits so far from BT Open Reach and a third due this morning, Lots of noise on the phone line and intermittent broadband. PO quote the same Open Reach prices if they find an internal fault. I know the problem is external but they deny this, Will wait and see what teh out come of this third visit will be today.
  7. You made London Live lunch time news from outside the EDT Would be good if you had a stall on North Cross Road Market to sell scarves, mugs, shirts etc.
  8. If all local stations are to be closed over that weekend, do you mean, Peckham Rye, East, North and West Dulwich?? Which others do you believe will be closed?? Can you confirm or find out from Council Officers if Peckham Rye from the junction of Barry Road to the junction of Forest Hill Road will remain open to normal traffic during this event, i.e. 63 and 363 bus routes or will they be curtailed to the Heaton Arms??
  9. Corbyn mis-judged what he said, what he clearly missed is that this is incident is not party political but rather in the national interest.
  10. To summarise Vladimir Putin has had an agent of the USSR attempt to murder a former double agent and his daughter on British soil by using a nerve agent and potentially lingering 500 other people who were considered to be collateral damage. And it is not the first time Russia has done this on British soil, first their was the murder using a poison tip umbrella and secondly the use of nuclear material to kill Litvinenko. So Russia is quite happy to murder people on foreign soil.
  11. Was in the East during the Summer on "holiday" and I have to say I much prefer life here in the West.
  12. Stepping away from the title of the thread, I'd be interested to learn about; Where the nerve agent came from? How it got into the UK? How it was deployed? Who has done this? Is/are the perpetrators still in the UK (doubtful)? How did they leave the UK? How come the nerve agent did not affect the person or people who deployed it? Why did the security services have no idea this could happen? (especially after the Litvenenko was murdered) What are the authorities doing to stop anyone else bringing a nerve agent into the UK? What will be the impact on those 500 people in the pub and Zizzi's who are collateral damage? What precautions are the Government taking to protect the general public from any futur attacks? How "polluted" are those areas that have been affected? Why did Corbyn not condemn Putin in The Commons yesterday after May gave her Statement?
  13. Your country needs you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Recruiting for the Royal Navy I'd guess.
  14. Perhaps people can add to the table below so across SE22/23 we can see who offers the best deals v speed v method of delivery (cable / asdl) Provider Cable ADSL Speed MBps line rental + BB Cost per month Post Office (talktalk) Y 10 Y
  15. Stamp duty is crippling the top end of the market for buyers who if they purchase have to stump up a large amount of stamp duty that goes directly to HMRC even before they have have either paid a deposit or the first mortgage payment. It then means they have far less to spend on renovation costs because of what they have had to pay to HMRC. This I suspect is putting buyers off and so slowing the market to the extent that vendors are reducing asking prices. And the final nail is I suspect because at the height Estate Agents over valued properties and continued to do so as purchasers were willing to pay these higher asking prices. Five years ago NO one would have dreamed of prices dropping as much as they have done. Houses are only worth what a buyer is willing to pay. Just take a look at Rightmove to see how prices are dropping locally across SE22 and SE23. Id suggest that the expectations of buyers also needs to be moderated so they expect less for what they are spending.
  16. Anyone want any kitchen equipment, actually probably gone by now!
  17. Hope they get pasted at tomorrow's meeting, will be well deserved based on their inept performance over the past 96 hours.
  18. rch, thanks for finding that.
  19. TfL website/buses makes no mention of it being on diversion, so what is actually happening, they were certainly running on Saturday?
  20. Three tweets worth sharing from Chop chop fellas. I can feel a proper poo brewing. Why are you not replying to my tweets? We have no water. No water stations and no updates regarding the situation in SE23 ‏ A little bit of snow in SELondon and it?s third world Britain

  22. Now affecting just the other side of SE22 in SE23, TW blame it on a leak in SW16, they couldn't make it up could they!!!!!
  23. So well said. apbremer Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > A bottomless pit of money for absurd road > "improvements" but nothing for gritting the roads, > doubtless due to Wicked Tory Austerity.
