  1. One side of Langton rise has just been repaved and part of the pavement ib Lordship Lane close to M$S is being replaced, both in my opinion un=necessarily yet work that does need doing is postponed. Simple question, Why?
  2. Hope this helps copied from SE23.com https://www.se23.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=13593 "There will be changes in our bus services from Monday 29 January until mid-March . This is due to the closure of Dartmouth Road while London Borough of Lewisham carries out renewal works. Bus route 122 will be diverted in both directions via London Road, Sydenham Rise, Sydenham Hill and Kirkdale, not serving Dartmouth Road. Bus routes 176 and 197 will be diverted in both directions via Sydenham Hill and Kirkdale, not serving London Road (east of Sydenham Hill), Forest Hill station or Dartmouth Road. Customers for National Rail or London Overground can change at Sydenham station instead of Forest Hill station. Customers going to the town centre can change at Lordship Lane to / from route 185 or in Kirkdale to / from route 356. We are posting notices at the bus stops in Dartmouth Road, directing customers to alternative stops."
  3. Seems to be OK when looking at the forum this morning , will keep an eye on this and thanks to those who took the time to respond.
  4. Is anyone else experiencing an additional screen called One More Step Please complete the security check to access www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk before they are able to access the EDF front page? Or is it just me. Have run both Norton antivirus and Malwarebytes but it still happens but ONLY on EDF.
  5. Why has this been addded when trying to load EDF? One more step Please complete the security check to access www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk
  6. Will be for ambulances that are on blue light and bound for Kings.
  7. Police in action responding to criminal activity, suspected criminal activity or maybe something else. Who knows, you could check MPS twitter account.
  8. Nice to see how unnamed, unelected, bureaucratic, spineless, faceless pen pushers who think they know best, WASTING council tax payers precious resources throwing good money away when what is there is perfectly adequate and destroying our heritage into the bargin. Absolutely scandalous, don't expect anything less from these faceless council officers, who are supposed to be working FOR council tax payers, well a fat chance of that if this lighting replacement scheme is anything to go by. And oh it's coming to the end of the financial year, so little surprise resources are being squandered when we keep on being told their is not enough to go round. Solution - maybe things would run smoother without some of these faceless pen pushers remaining in the council. Just waiting for the barrage of abuse to come my way!!!!!!!!!
  9. Thank you for the information - could be problematic particularly as Grove Vale is a main artery for emergency service vehicles to Kings College Hospital.
  10. Wheelchairs are fine, I was in one for a while and on a walking frame until I was able to become mobile and independent again, so I totally understand what having a mobility problem is like.
  11. yes that is fine, but don't knock into me because they are careless, thoughtless and self obsessed. And oh of course those that sit next to you on the bus, but they can't judge distance so sit virtually shoulder to shoulder, have they never heard of "personal space", don't get me started, can probably reel of a list of things I find annoying....
  12. I think the word you're looking for is erratic.
  13. Add over sized child buggies to the list, that the parents expect you to get out of the way of, plus getting on and off buses bumping into people, but it's never their fault of course arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  14. That's a spot on description of the breed, they never ever tire and if they do not have the opportunity to run of the energy they can become destructive through boredom so lots of mental stimulation as well is required.
  15. See https://www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming/dogs/filters/~918~~~~n~
  16. Not in my opinion. This needs SWIFT action and common sense applied. The solution is quite simple.
  17. Does not sound like a solution, rather things are going to stay the same, those are the rules blah, blah, blah. Councillors not good enough, you should be standing up, representing your ward members and getting the best possible outcome, even if that means getting rules changed and common sense applied. These families are grieving, removing their flowers is nothing less than insensitive and wrong. Financially they have invested greatly in floral memorials that they probably expect to remain till the flowers have withered and they can then dispose of them themselves, but then perhaps that's to simpler a solution for those managing the cemetery. With regard to responsibility for informing families about regulations, would have thought responsibility should remain with the funeral directors, as when are the families going to see the cemetery staff??? Don't forget it is the funeral director who arranges the plot with the cemetery, not the family. Representation, Representation, Representation............................
  18. Looks like joined up working, (well done James and Renata) hopefully common sense will prevail and this ridiculous policy will be withdrawn and revoked permanently.
  19. If you were so curious, why didn't you go and ask, rather posting on here and getting slated.
  20. andersa7 - have a look at some of the early posts on this thread, they maybe useful.
  21. the posts are forwarded to the relevant counil is how it works.
  22. computer says, but who operates the computer? ridiculous.
  23. That may well be the case and perhaps the Practice is trying to improve and provide a more coherent service to the patients, although the inspection was undertaken six months ago. Clearly from the CQC inspection being put in Special Measures cannot have been done lightly and it is done to force the practice to take radical steps for improvements which CQC can then measure when they next inspect and which should be about NOW.
  24. Suggest you write a formal letter to the Cabinet Member who's ward it is, the Head of Cemeteries/ Cemeteries Manager and the Head of Southwark Council, plus South London Press, Southwark News, ITV London and BBC London to publicise this as much as possible. As I said earlier this approach is absolutely insensitive and especially as some of the recent new graves have had some wonderful floral tributes which can't have been cheap to have made. Do the cemetery have any notices stating the new rules posted around the cemetery? What have the undertakers advised? And has the issue been raised with the local florists who it inevitably is going to affect, if mourners cannot have the wonderful flowers they gave provided? Just come back, and it seems from memory as though where multiple floral tributes have been placed surrounding the grave, these have been removed, but I might be wrong?? Shame on anyone who has complained about the floral tributes, the large ones in particular were wonderful to see, Southwark Council show some decency to these people.
  25. I go past about once a week and have seen flowers left on graves remain there, so am very surprised to learn that cemetery personnel are removing flowers from graves. Clearly if this is a new approach by Southwark, it seems wholly wrong, inappropriate and insensitive. Suggest you contact the local press to expose these practices. I think their would be a huge out cry against the Council's approach.
