Southwark Plans for Camberwell Old & New Cemeteries.
dbboy replied to Penguin68's topic in The Lounge
What you mean is that the tree cutters are in Camberwell New Cemetery on the ground ADJACENT to One Tree Hill, NOT actually ON One Tree Hill, why can't you just be honest, with out distorting the facts? Re: nesting birds, ssw played that card last year as well, so no surprise they are using it again, and by the way ssw what happened to the racial discrimination you were shouting about and oh then their was the issue of WW1 garves, both quickly forgotten by ssw now they have nesting birds, really so are so predictable. Your group is a bit like a magpie, picking the silver object of the moment before moving onto something else. -

NO tree felling is actually being done ON One Tree Hill Underhill Road Wood - Is this in your MAKE BELIEF IMAGINATORY MADE UP WORLD as it does not nor has it ever existed in the real world, if you said over grown scrub, people would not disagree with you. Tell it like it is, not how you imagine it to be. All you do is piss everyone off and turn them against you. You seem unable to run an effective campaign. Blanche et al at SSW, FFS get real. Once all the cemetery works are done it will be tons better than it is now. If you are as you say you are the FOCC, where is the constitution and minutes of all meetings held and when will they be made public, who are the elected officers and when was this voted for. -
Nice work if you can get it, lots of words with little meaning, reminds me of ssw.

For the record Blanche and co used the nesting birds wheeze last year, no doubt they'll be using next year as well. Cry wolf or is that fox!! Environmental crime is an illegal act which directly harms the environment. (wikipedia definition) If you are going state something, is it to difficult to actually be factual about what is stated I totally agree with Penguin 68 "The sooner the ground is cleared and made ready for burials, the sooner can the replanting begin with as much of this 'growing year' left for establishing the re-planting." -

Have the protest group not realised that a lot of the trees they are supposedly concerned about are being strangled by all the wild ivy and Chair spokes person Shaffer doesn't know, doesn't know what the trees are or which ones are due to be felled. So little organisation or factual information, so much wasted hot air. -

It would be good if you actually noted, understood and respected what the ruling says rather than creating mis-understanding. It is only as a result of the ruling that you have become interested in the WW1 graves in the cemeteries, shame on you. It surprises me that it has taken you so long (as supposed FOCC) to recognise that those Brave service personnel who gave their lives for OUR freedom are buried in the cemetery. You should not be making any political capital out of these graves. Your attempt at creating racial tensions failed so you are now looking for another reason to further your so called cause. The Commission?s rules say that war graves must be marked where possible. But in his judgement Philip Petchey, Chancellor for the Southwark Diocese, suggested that some of the graves could be left unmarked. He said: "It occurred to me that in the present case it might be better for all 48 graves to remain unmarked both as reflecting the position at the time of burial and also as of now not seeking to make distinctions between the remains of those buried in the same area." A spokesman for the Commission said: "We have agreed with Southwark LBC that war graves will not be disturbed during the process and that no burials will take place above the war graves. "We only have responsibility for the war graves and these have all been identified and will not be affected by the works. The trees in question are NEXT to One Tree Hill and NOT on One Tree Hill. A corridor does NOT exist on One Tree Hill, more mis-information you are creating. The prime purpose of a cemetery is to have a place locally where those who have passed away can be buried, visited and remembered by relatives and friends. The cemetery is a place for quietness, reflection and remembrance. It is not a running or cycling track, dog walking or picnic area area, There are parks and enough of them locally for that.. -

It is NOT on One Tree Hill. It is NEXT to the hill on the other side of the boundary, that is a HUGE difference from what you state. Can you stop mis-leading people by causing confusion and conjecture. As the attempt to create racial tensions has seemed to fail you are now bringing our WW1 hero's into your vile argument. STOP as you are discrediting these people who fought 100 years ago for all our freedom. -
Glad to hear you are OK. Another place with a potential to trip and fall is outside of Camberwell Old Cemetery, the paving slabs are sticking up and are lose.

Sorry to hear you have been a victim of this. There is an ongoing spate of these thefts with high end motors being "lifted" in the early hours of the morning. https://www.se23.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=13185 If you own a such a motor suggest a really good movement sensor alarm PLUS a thick chain and giant padlock (something like this)between the steering wheel and peddles. https://www.tklink.co.uk/products/tools/padlocks-door-locks-and-security/padlocks-and-hasp-and-staples/union-padlocks/b-1k21-c-series-cruiser-padlock-unnk1k21/?utm_source=website&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=shopping%20feed&gclid=CKyag_TYydICFdUaGwod8YAFKQbetween I know its a faff every time you want to use the vehicle but this may deter potential thieves from taking what's your.

Only one word to describe the protesters and group = VILE -
Yes a deli on the Lane would be useful, but it would need to be viable and not over priced as competition from the likes of Sainsbury's (DKH), Morrisons (Peckham) and Tesco (Lewisham) Deli counters plus a variety of continental meats in the likes of Aldi and Lidl, including their special offers. Also a number of Polish food shops and teh Italian deli in Lewisham. Can't think of any other's locally. There up until about 18 months ago was a lovely old fashioned Italian Deli near Kings Cross Station run by an old Italian guy, but that unfortunately closed.

All these people crave and want is publicity so they can continue to push their repulsive campaign in an attempt to try and stop the cemeteries being used for the purpose they were intended, the BURIAL of those who have passed away irrespective of the deceased religious believes. They twist the facts to suit themselves, quote discrimination and then tell the local press stories which the press publish without checking the facts and doing the relevant research. If they did they would never publish this rubbish. -

Have Blanche and co got permission from the families of all the graves they continually post on twitter, I doubt very much? And if I were a relative I would be most upset at a group of individuals purporting to be a pressure group posting pictures WITHOUT said CONSENT. -
