  5. It's not about wanting or not wanting media attention, it's about who controls it, and in that respect the Sussexes are doing a good job of putting the media's nose out of joint, so fair play to them...
  6. He's not going to go away while his grifting Big Lie makes him so much money, most of the dosh raised for 'legal funds' will have ended up in his own coffers. The GOP have enabled this and continue to do so. Maybe their thinking is that Trump eventually ends up in court (now looking very likely)and that's a way of getting rid of him but without alienating his base, but even if that happened they've pretty much become unelectable...

  11. I'll try and break this gently to you ST, are you familiar with the term Centrist Dad? Some people think that once we get back to some kind of normality there will be a new Roaring Twenties, a decade of fun, frolics, and Flappers... Cocks out for the lasses!
  12. I didn't realise Yuppies had made a come back, picked the wrong time! :) Yuppie didn't start out as a catch-all put down, but over time it became one like Millennials, Woke etc, mainly because like a lot of style tribes they eventually end up becoming a caricature of themselves, e.g. the Hipster/Urban Woodsman. The tell tale sign is when estate agents pick up on a look, then it's time to bail out...

Spoke to a Scottish friend last night, they think the SNP is more than capable of shooting itself in the foot e.g the Salmond issue, but for many voting SNP is simply a conduit to achieve independence, they don't feel any allegiance to then run with the SNP if it's achieved, again strong similarities with England and Brexit i.e non-Tory voters in England voting for the Tories to 'get Brexit done'...
  19. Sb, you do realise what you've just started...multiple virtual accounts in the third person...aaarrrrgggghhhh! :)

Not sure what point you're trying to make, most people who've been on the forum long enough (like yourself) know that's my old account. I stopped using it when I hit 10,000 posts (a 'clique' injoke) and took a break, which was over 3 years ago. When I returned and set up this account about 6 months later, I deliberately chose DR so people would know it was RD, if I did it again the next time I'd probably choose a Spanish or Italian translation. I never operated both accounts simultaneously, and even if I had, it would've been fairly obvious to some it was the same person, unlike those posters who have multiple accounts and post under different names, and sometimes in the same thread, which I'm sure you'll agree is a strange thing to do...

I can understand someone having separate accounts for say 'business' and 'pleasure' with that well known adage in mind, whereas having multiple 'pleasure' accounts, even if they don't troll, looks sketchy...
