  1. It's quite entertaining to see someone criticise media spin of events, and then source media outlets for their own spin of events...

  5. David Icke recently had his Facebook account closed due to the dangerous conspiracy theories and disinformation he was peddling. Perhaps Admin would like to review some of the recent posts on here under the guise of 'information'?...
  6. People are wasting their time thinking the NHS will be sold, Trump's administration is far more interested in their huge pharmas supplying drugs to the NHS, that's where the money is for them, which will mean increased costs for us. If Trump wins a 2nd term that's what he will push for in any UK/US trade deal. It's all a bit of a moot point at the moment, Trump might not win, and the big economies of the world will be far more interested in dealing with the economic/financial fallout of this pandemic...
  7. dbboy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I set this up clearly as a NON POLITICAL thread. Actually you didn't, you only added the Non-Political edit yesterday. And as edcam highlights, hard to separate a politician from politics, especially one who was active in previous Govs during the last 10 years of austerity, overseeing serious underfunding of the NHS, the very people trying to save his life now. I hope he pulls through so he and his mob can be held accountable...
  8. I see Quids is still raging at being being a white working class man living in a white middle class metropolitan area. That'll teach him for hanging around with the cool Twitterati kids instead of his real mates...:)

Not everyone pays at the end of the tax year, my self-assessment tax bill is due at the end of Jan each year...

  16. The use of one month wasn't for when I think it will be over, but for when the novelty of a 'home gym' starts to wear off. I thought I was being generous!...
  17. Fast forward one month... *Scours the EDF's For Sale section, debating which half-price ''hardly used'' exercise equipment to offer on...*

It came directly from the mobile networks on behalf of the Gov, so we can all sleep easy knowing that Michael Gove doesn't have our numbers...
  19. Totally agree tiddles, this is where the Gov needs to step in with something like a temporary guaranteed living wage, but then you get someone like Iain Duncan-Smith saying that would prove to be a disincentive to work...yes, that's the point of doing it!
  20. People need to behave and act accordingly as if they already have the virus, not hoping or thinking they won't catch it...
  21. Nobody is 'boycotting' pubs like it's some form of protest, they're being responsible citizens by staying away...
  22. Ocado has suspended it's service due to the high demand, but will honour existing orders. I expect it's a logistical thing rather than not having enough food, as all the supermarkets seem to be saying there's no need to panic buy as there's enough food to supply the nation if people shop normally. Perhaps when the panic buyers start scoffing the mountain of food they've bought and start wiping their backsides with the 2 year supply of bog roll, the rest of us can shop normally...
  23. I don't believe the Gov is putting the economy first (leaving the EU proves that), and I also don't believe in daft conspiracy theories that it's some kind of organised cull, especially as those most at risk are likely to be their core voters. But what I do know is that successive Tory Govs of which this PM and many senior ministers were active in, have deliberately underfunded the NHS and social care among others as part of an unnecessary 10-year austerity programme. There's no argument to be had that had they not done that then we would be in a better position to cope than we currently are. We can't suddenly magic up all the nurses, doctors, beds and equipment that has been lost in that time. Germany, a country similar in size has 4 times as many ICUs and recently ordered 10,000 extra ventilators. Our Gov meanwhile is sending blueprints on how to make a ventilator to various manufacturing companies asking them to knock out a job lot i.e. Operation Last Gasp...
  24. Exactly edcam. The ineptitude of Johnson and his Gov during this crisis gets worse with each passing day. By giving advice rather than forcing people not to go to pubs/restaurants/theatres etc he has hung out to dry thousands of businesses, giving them no legal recourse to claim with their insurers for the inevitable losses and liquidations that will follow. France by contrast has promised no business no matter how small will suffer financially. He has well and truly f*cked business like he said...
