I (madly) STILL go around that double roundabout on my bike. I did try to use the by-pass once...but I ended up in the OLD KENT ROAD, which was even scarier (to my mind)...whether or not I took a wrong turn I don't know, but I've never risked it again. -

It will be interesting to see if the next lot of replies are different (given that some of our emails will have differed).

Guinness DOES do the trick - but it's FAR too good for those little BASTARDS (God I HATE slugs - as a 100% organic gardener they make my life ten times harder(6)) than it could be. GGRRRR).

Actually, the only "evidence" I've seen actually goes against them - a consumer programme on TV last year about shady dealing and underhanded tactics used by EAs. If my memory serves me correctly, Foxtons featured (rather negatively) in that prog.

...milk also works (even better if it's slightly out of date because the smell is more attractive). Also, I'd ensure the receptacle used is at least one inch deep. This is because the CLEVER ones, will just sit on the edge and sip, drink to their heart's content, and then come back the next day (this applies whether using milk or beer). If deep enough - they DROWN - HA HA HA HA! Little bastards, some nights I catch over 100 of them.

Andystar Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > wow kudos to you treetoad!!! Yes - well done you treetoad - most people wouldn't bother. Hope something comes of this. BTW, it wasn't "Clarkes Coaches" was it? I've had a couple of problems with their drivers too whilst I've been on my bike. It seems as though their drivers aren't very cyclist aware - and drive far too fast/too close without due regard to cyclist safety. -

The only comment I would make Danstable is that, your courageous act in posting the contents of your email gave me that extra prompt to (a) firstly, email F and (b)to then post its contents. Also well done to Steveo who provided the link - making it nice and easy for us. LM (a relative newbie;-)) PS: here's wishing your broken leg a speedy recovery

Bookworm Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I really enjoyed last night and it certainly > cheered me up. Everyone was so friendly and made > us newbies really welcome. Ah, I'm glad Bookworm. Make sure you have a say in husband's rota though so that he can babysit for the next EDF drinkies...failing that, get your mum down again!!;-)

steveo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Here's their email [email protected]. Bombard > it Done! Attn: The Manager I write to officially record my dismay over Foxtons' wasteful use of lighting at night. Moreover, at a time when many East Dulwich residents and businesses are rallying together in an attempt to reduce carbon emissions, I am appalled that a major player on Lordship Lane (i.e. yourselves) should display such a manifest disregard for our environment. Apart from the environmental concerns at stake here, I do not believe that Foxtons' actions can make business sense either. I would therefore request that Foxtons reflect upon their actions and, at the very least, REDUCE the amount of lighting left on at night. I would add that, being a homeowner, Foxtons' response to this request would have a major impact on whether or not I would choose to use Foxtons in the future.

YES, it was a GREAT evening - Bookworm, Brewski and I left at gone 11.30pm and things were still pretty lively inside. Thanks for being such a lovely chaperone Cheeky Monkey. BTW, I believe I owe both you and Brum a drink...so here's to the next EDF drinkies!
