  4. Yes, respect to any cyclists cycling this week. I attempted to cycle on Monday - far too slippery - got as far as the top of my road. Had to turn around and push the bike back to my house. Does anybody on here have bikes fitted with winter tyres or tyre chains? And how do they perform? I have standard tyres (not even mountain bike tyres) and I was skidding all over the place on Monday. Oh I miss my bike!
  5. Oh who cares about you karter...me me me me me
  6. Cocky too, LOL!
  7. Why? Because it's FUN! That is not to say that everyone on here is juvenile - oh no no no no no. Welcome to the EDF malumbu.
  8. That IS CHEATING...breach of Rule 5.6(A)III(xi)...no self setting up... Quids, you are required on English soil NOW. You are duly summoned to report for adjudication on breach of the above rule. Oh this is not funny...I've been stalking this...just popped downstairs to eat dinner LOL... This matter must of necessity be escalated to the About Forum section! *snivels*

  10. Wednesday: paid ?7.20 for a zone 1/2 Travelcard: in morning had to walk from ED to Camberwell in order to catch a bus...froze as stranded for over an hour at London Bridge in evening. Anyone else miss using their bike to commute?

Also, assuming you have a loft and already have some form of insulation, you could just go for loft insulation top-up (would most likely be free for you). Most people make do with a few inches of insulation material when, in fact, they could do with around 10/11 inches. It makes a massive difference - honest.
  13. I saw three trains come chugging in On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; I saw three trains come chugging in On Christmas Day in the morning. And what was in those trains all three, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day? And what was in those trains all three, On Christmas Day in the morning? A tramp, some cans and the Metro were there, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; A tramp, some cans and the Metro were there, On Christmas Day in the morning. Pray, wither chugged those trains all three? On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; Pray, wither chugged those trains all three? On Christmas Day in the morning? O they chugged their way into London Bridge, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; O they chugged their way into London Bridge, On Christmas Day in the morning. And all the bells in ED shall ring, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; And all the bells in ED shall ring, On Christmas Day in the morning. And why should the bells in ED all ring? On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; And why should the bells in ED all ring? On Christmas Day in the morning. Coz they're aint gonna be any sodding trains, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; Coz they're aint gonna be any sodding trains, On Christmas or any damn bleeding day! So may as well just get used to it, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; So may as well just get used to it, And simply rejoice: Happy Christmas Day.

    PS: thank you Sean.
  16. Hello again Admin, I realise that I am being a bit of a pain today, but I wondered - given that these drinks will be taking place one week from today - whether you could possibly find a minute to make this thread a "sticky" please? I am assuming that you have not returned to levitating under the desk and that you are able to hear me.
  17. Too funny LOL! But Narnia, you have it arse over tit! Part 1 of the moral of the story is never to clean the keyboard (ever - i.e. with/without toothbrush) - especially while the computer remains on! Part 2, which only applies where Admin should fall off his seat, is as per that (now disconnected) computer: never to levitate under the desk with a mouse. Any advancement(s)?

I know, no 9000 computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information...you are, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error...yada yada yada...heard it all before...blardy blah blah... *commences disconnection of HAL9000 Computer*
  19. Hovering under the desk eh? So, the moral of this story is... But I thank you. x

  21. Ooooh, the missing posts have re-appeared. Thank you Admin. x
  22. Intex, is the property your own (as opposed to being rented, e.g.)? Because, if you (or your elderly occupant) are the owner-occupiers, you may be eligible for free cavity wall/loft insulation on the grounds that (your mother?) is elderly/disabled. The insulation will make an enormous difference to the amount of heat retained by the property (as well as reduce fuel costs). We had cavity wall insulation installed last winter, and, although we were not entitled to have it done for free, it was worth every penny - it has already paid for itself I think. Provided one of you are the owner-occupiers, you have lived there for an X amount of years, and the property is suitable for cavity/loft insulation, then it sounds to me as though your household might qualify for free. Even if you do not, I think you should consider it anyway - you will soon recoup any costs. Feel free to PM me should you require specific details - whereupon I will dig out my papers on this. Good luck.
  23. Affirmative, HAL9000 Computer, I trust you are able to read me. However, before I disconnect you, I would like to know whether you have anything to do with the fact that this thread has lost some 10+ posts? I.e. the thread has shrunk since yesterday. I am aware that you have made some very poor decisions lately, or can this latest incident really only be attributable to human error?;-)

Hello Admin, This isn't a complaint, but I am mystified. A thread has shrunk - by around 10 or so posts (I think). There's a big chunk missing and I don't understand why because, as far as I am aware, it didn't contain anything offensive or remotely controversial (actually, I did swear - but those posts are still there!). It isn't important by any means, but I just wondered (a) why and (b) if you were aware of the problem (if indeed, it is a problem). If it has happened to one thread, might it not have happpened to others? Anyway, thank you - as always.
  25. You are very kind b_s, but frankly, I didn't do anything...apart from work myself up into a frenzy and get my knickers in a twist! It was everyone coming together that did it...I can always rely on this forum when in a panic - whether it be while on the computer, while baking bread, or making chocolate brownies...yep, each time, forumites have come to the rescue. It's lovely. Apologies for not latching on to your ctrl+alt+del instructions earlier - I was in a bit of a state LOL! Anyway, everything is wonderful now, hubby has not long returned, my belly is full and I am a happy bunny. And hubby knows nothing! Though he did comment on how clean the keyboard looked:)). BTW, have a great day on Sat. Love to you and M xx
