  4. HA HA HA HA HA GONE GONE GONE GONE GONE - just like that - as Tommy Cooper would have said... oh my goodness, OOOH SO RELIEVED - HUBBY NEED NEVER KNOW WHAT A NIT-WIT I'VE BEEN LOL!! A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR HELPING OUT - ABSOLUTELY BLOOMIN MARVELLOUS...GOSH, I'M STARVING... Do forgive the shouting...am just SO, so relieved. Moral of story: don't bother cleaning your keyboard...let the grime accumulate! MWAH xxxxxx
  5. Ah thanks DFox - X-posted. Both circle and gibberish gone now. But thanks. Any ideas on this green arrow light thingy (on keyboard)? Am hoping to get rid of it before hubby comes home LOL so he is none the wiser LOL!
  6. KK you are a genius! Control alt delete and going into task manager and deleting windows support did the trick. Phew! That's got rid of the offending page AND the question mark in blue circle. There still remains the matter of a green light on the keyboard bearing a downward arrow (underscored). Any further ideas? I've pressed every button on the keyboard (I think), but it's still there. But it's minor - so relieved the gibberish has gone. I am REALLY grateful. x

But thanks for PM...am about to try your instructions...

  10. LOL KK - but no...can't exit out...it just goes "ting"...
  11. Oh just seen your post DFox...do you mean the red x which when clicked normally means that I will exit out of the doc? If so, when I click on this it just goes "ting". Drives me bananas...
  12. There is no red X on my keyboard...in fact nothing is red - just black and white. The x is white on a black background.
  13. Actually, I've just had a thought... I did clean the keyboard earlier on (with a toothbrush and slightly damp rag)...it was grubby/dusty and was annoying me...:-S But never mind that, how can I get rid of this stupid rubbish and the green arrow with underscore and the white question mark within the blue circle?

  16. KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I'm not sure u should b putting in on a thread for > ALL to see ya know... Well, as far as I am concerned, it is pure gibberish! Unless...
  17. Tar karter...at last you are of some use! Testing testing testing...
  18. The suggestion was to reproduce it on here so people could see what the problem was.

  21. No - nothing. But thanks anyway. Seriously guys, thanks all for trying to help. I couldn't have asked for a better response...truth is I'm well and truly f-ucked off now...so will just have to wait. xxx Again sorry for colourful language Admin.
  22. OK HAL, will give this one more go - thanks BTW x
  23. OK...first trying out H's proposal... just need to cut and paste this otherwise I keep having to switch pages and losing the instructions' spot... Oh Jesus have mercy... The start menu is the menu that pops up when you click on the symbol/button in the menu bar at the bottom left corner of your screen. In this menu will be an item called 'all programs' click on this and you'll get a folder list. Within this folder list will be one called 'accessories', click on this and you'll get a list of the programs, one of which will be 'paint'. Once you have pressed the prt scr button then open the paint application and go directly to 'paste' in the edit menu. Save the file somewhere where you can find it again. Then come on here, start a new post, click on 'attach a file or photo', browse to the location and select it, then click on attach. ------------ f-uck...nothing happens when I press prtscn and the paint page stays blank and when I click on paste another box comes up saying picture library and it wants a file name...sorry, my pea brain is not cut out for this... Bob's your uncle my backside... sorry, but I'm getting really grumpy now...I am going to have to leave it...I feel like throwing the computer out of the window... SS thank you too - sorry but words like crop and powerpoint are Swahili too... Thanks everyone...forget about it...I'm going to have to wait till hubby gets home...
  24. ooooh just clicked onto it...and amongst all the pretty pictures there is one of an artist's palette...i.e. paint? Is that what you mean? When I click onto that I get a BIG box with pretty colours and shapes up top. But the irritations are still here.
  25. Nope, no start button. By Windows icon, do you mean the round blue ball with a kinda flag made up of red, green, blue and yellow?
