I remember looking at those houses back when the development was new - 1996/97 - there was a show house just near the beginning. They seem like they?d be easier and more economical to heat and look after. We?re they double glazed as a matter of course?

There is an Italian cafe called Ciao that has opened up on Grove Vale in the former Grove Cafe premises. Homemade food including bread. I?ve only had coffee and pastries so far but it was delicious. They will be opening evenings soon. Spoilt for choice at that end of ED now.

That sounds dreadful. Can you name the practice? I would definitely make a complaint.

Check out Anne Tyler?s books. She?s recently published a new one. The Accidental Tourist is wonderful and how I discovered her.

See if you go in with someone else and book a council pickup and split the cost. You are allowed a few items for a set price.

You should look in areas on the Overground East London Line, as Ginster mentioned - As well as Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill, look at Brockley, Forest Hill, Honor Oak, Sydenham, Penge and Crystal Palace. There are a lot of budget supermarkets like Lidl, Aldi and Iceland. Other supermarkets like Waitrose, Sainsbury, Asda and Tesco all do home delivery, and that includes Iceland. There are car clubs here to rent a car for use if you don?t have one at first. Look into the use of Oyster cards on Transport for London on the TFL website - Transport for London. www.tfl.gov.uk
