  1. If they remove all benefits, this will not work if anything this will make the situation worse these are knee- jerk reactions they need to look at this long term.
  2. I have mixed view about this, I believe in choice if you can afford to send your child to a private school that is your choice as a parent at the time of choosing a good school for my daughter it was very difficult I found that the state school was not very good at that particular time. When looking at schools you were given 6 choices and this was not grantee that your child would get in to the school choices you made. I was very lucky my daughter got in The City of London which it not state run but funded by the City of London Corporation a lot of state schools are now turning into Academy?s which is not a bad thing.
  3. I must admit it has made my life easier, coming from work and getting the 12 from Walworth Road all the way home:)
  4. Solutions wrote ------------------------- By the way for those who make sweeping statements about white and middle class people, I am white and middle class, I spend most of my working week contributing to society not only with a sense of responsibility but with passion and my appeal is for more listening and open mindedness. Thank you. Good one you Sir/Madam for what you do it is petty some people on this thread are so quick to judge and condem all youths
  5. I am not apologising and one size does not fit all, sending them to jail will not solve the problem in the long run they will just come out and do the same thing again, Sticking your fingers in ears and pretending that nothing is wrong just like David Cameron and his New Moral Army. He needs to tackle these issues and stop ignoring the fact that it is his policy is some of the root causes.
  6. New mother I am a hard working tax payer never been out of job myself, I do come from a working class back ground. I do understand your point but one size does not fit all there are some youths that will have a life of crime and jail will be the answer but there are some that needs help to turn there life a round. Malcolm X had a life of crime in and out of jail until he found his faith there are also some great mentors who also had a life of crime and now they work in the comunity. I am just saying we should not just right all of them off.
  7. Like I said this is underline problem with these youths, sending them jail will not solve the problem in the long run they will just come out of jail and continue as before. As to your post fathers that were fighting the war are not the same type of fathers that these youths have lot of fathers to these kids are feckless, drug addicts, violent, you cannot compare it not the same.
  8. The Captain wrote ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I agree with Damian H, plus i hate the way all the liberals dust off this word 'vigilante' and use it so 'liberally'!... How do you know what my affiliations are I bet you will be the one leading the charge captain?
  9. I not saying all vigilantes are racist I did say some have there own agenda, vigilantes tend to start of with the best intentions then it can go a bit pear shaped.
  10. Rick a lot of the youth are too young to work and some are unemployable the whole system need to be looked at it not just one simply thing there other factors.
  11. I rather the police in charge of this then vigilantes.
  12. Damian H was you looking at the news, there were vigilantes The Enfield Army they called themselves which some of them had there own racist agenda. David Cameron has ordered 16,000 more police on London streets since this happen it has been quite.
  13. Yes I have to agree it is a great forum.
  14. Let the police do there job, this what they are trained for vigilantes will only get in there way.
  15. David Camerom said ----------------------------------------- British PM David Cameron says parts of Britain are sick - there's a lack of parenting, a lack of ethics & it's about dscipline in Schools. Hope he relise that sick means good to the rioters
  16. Here comes the night belong to lovers - Desire
  17. Too be fair some of the looters were caught on camera nicking Basmati rice anything goes.
  18. I agree with James, when the looting was taking place my thoughts was Peckham is more attractive place to loot as it has sport shops and other well known shops as Dulwich is a little more specialised.
  19. This will make things worse, those who are convicted but not sent to jail what do you think they going to do? continue to steal if there benefit is stopped.
  20. When I was young or during the war? this generation is different there far more pressures, now and if you come from a background where you have a one parent family or even two parent family and the parent or parents don?t care or kid themselves what role models to you have. I am not condoning what happen but we have to look at the underline problem the coalition sticking there fingers in the ears is not helping if they don?t tackle this problem it will happen again this has been building up for sometime.
  21. Well said shfyyouthforum
  22. DJKQ wrote ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 'lefty' must be the most misused word on the forum I think and generally means anyone that doesn't agree with the moral conservative stance of the 'I'm alright Jack' and NIMBY brigade....no? ;) I have to agree with DJKQ on this thread there some people who think "yes let have youth offenders unit so long it is not in my back yard! who is to say we don't have youth offenders living in ED it may be easier for them to register there.
