  1. This is what James Barber posted a few weeks ago "Latest news on the Concrete House at 549 Lordship Lane. Last Thursday I sat on the Dulwioch Community Council Planning Committee to hear two planning application for this site - one for the chanes one related to change and its listed status - effectively the same thing. After a relatively swift meeting the changes were approved. This means the CPO with southwark buying the property BUT with a company recommended by English Heritage that now has planning permission to immediately buy it from Southwakr Council. So council tax payers are exposed for the smallest amount of time to this big capital outlay while the property will be amazingly sympatheticially restored into 5 flats. Goods news all round and an excellent application."
  2. Marmora Man, that's what happens for pay as you go but if you have a travel card and intend to go beyond your designated zone for some reason you will need to go to a ticket machine and put an Oyster Extension Ticket onto the oyster card before you travel and touch in and out but you won't be charged. Annoying but how it is unfortunately.
  3. I lived in big flat block in Greenwich and was amazed at the recycling facilities. I thought it was great - two huge recycling bins that accepted mixed recycling so no sorting. The problem was the other bins were a further 4m away from the main front door and this meant all the lazy/and or selfish people from the block put all of their rubbish in the recycling (or threw it over the balcony into our patio thing) so in the end they had to remove all recycling there. Sadly some people just don't give a damn.
  4. BBC article saying lanterns are dangerous to livestock just thought it was relevant.
  5. Sandperson Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What's a good cover that won't make it twice the > size then? I have a incipio one that just slots on the back bit so only adds about 1mm on but I have now stopped lobbing my phone around accidentally so definitely worth it. It was about ?8 on amazon I think.
  6. something (forgotten the first bit) and a kick for being so quick.
  7. I think he means if it happens/has happened to anyone else. Emily I hope your dog has a speedy recovery.
  8. Sue, or anyone else who went what was the outcome of the meeting? Thanks in advance!
  9. I don't think I've ever received a Southwark magazine and I've been here since June. Just thought I'd mention it seeing as the magazine is being discussed. I'm on Lordship Lane by the way. Thanks
  10. Just bumping this because the meeting is tomorrow, 30 January 3-6pm back room of the Palmerston. I can't go but I've already cast my vote! Look forward to hearing how it went.
  11. People with over-sized umbrellas on busy streets. Walking along holding an umbrella and realising that it stopped raining a while ago.
  12. Thanks again Ian. Izodia, I guess you'd get charged the maximum of ?6? Or if a ticket checker catches you you could get a fine although I'd hope they wouldn't do this seeing as the system is new and complicated and I haven't seen the extension permit advertised anywhere.
  13. Thanks very much Greg that's good news (apart from the ticket office bit)!
  14. Sorry just thought of a question. Do the East Dulwich Ticket machines offer the oyster zone extension ticket thingy that we need to buy if we're going beyond our normal zones if we're using a travel card on oyster? Also would the person at the ticket office be able to add one on? I was at victoria yesterday and I couldn't find it on the ticket machines there. Thanks.
  15. Barry thank you in advance for the new ticket machine!
  16. Simon, if you saw the lorry driver "racing down Forest Hill Road soon before" then it might be worth getting in touch with the police as a witness. You might have already but just incase you haven't because they are appealing for witnesses and I guess this includes the events prior to the tragedy too.
  17. Cor it is complicated! Thanks very much ianr
  18. Hello I have a question. So I have a zone 1 and 2 travelcard (with some extra money on for when i go beyond zone 2 on the tube) but this evening I will be travelling from Victoria to Blackheath (zone 3) so I need to queue up at the manned ticket booths and ask for a zone extension right? Thanks in advance!
  19. there's a thread on this called "Traffic on Peckham Rye / Forest Hill Road" a few threads down the page.
  20. Yes you could break a journey but not go beyond your designated start station I think. So if you do sometimes go to ED get your terminals ticket to start from there but it wouldn't work for say brockley because that's a whole different line.
  21. The wall is NOT ugly. Save the wall!
  22. May she rest in peace and my thoughts to her loved ones.
