How odd. Was it a professional cameraman or just a relative/friend with a camcorder? I can see the sense if someone is bed bound or can't make it for whatever reason but to do it for just a keepsake seems a bit vile to me. Each to their own I guess.

Thanks Huggers. I rang the driver this morning when we found the sorry you weren't in card with his number on and he says he definitely delivered them and tried our bell twice but I'm sure we would have heard it. I just got off the phone from the company we ordered them from and luckily they are sending us a replacement so that's good. I'm just a bit peeved off because we've lived here less than a year and had this theft, a few bags of cement and sand stolen from our back garden last year and an attempted burglary (he was caught and charged though) so we're feeling slightly unlucky today and I know they're only thefts so not the end of the world. These things come in threes supposedly so hopefully that's the last theft we'll have!

We had a shed and a steel shelving unit delivered this morning at 6.30 - for some reason the driver thought it was safe to leave them in our front garden on lordship lane (opposite ish the police station by the pedestrian crossing). Sometime between 6.30am and 8am some horrible person came and nicked the shelves. The reason for this thread is to moan and also check to see if anyone saw anyone carrying away my shelves?

I opt for train and tube to work (for quickness) and on the way back I walk from bond street to victoria then hop on the 185 home - adds half an hour but I get a nice walk, a seat and get to read a book uninterrupted for 45mins - bliss.

Thanks Sue, very helpful. I nearly joined last year but rang to check a car would be free for the following week when I needed it and there weren't any available so I didn't join. Hopefully that will change with the new spaces. Still not sure about ?5 per hour because I kind of need mine for things like going to b&q etc so it would be cheaper to get a taxi. I do think they're a really good idea though.

I did a route yesterday. Get off at euston - 25 min walk to tottenham court road for the first stop of the 176 bus. About 35 mins on the bus (was a sunday though) dropped me off opposite my house. The tube then train route is probably quicker but I quite like walking and buses when I'm not in a hurry or carrying lots.

There was a thread on this this morning which I think was removed by an administrator incase the thread in anyway impeded the investigation - I might be completely wrong though. Thoughts with whoever was involved.

which reminds me - forwarded mails that just have FYI added by the sender but are completely irrelevant to my job but I have to waste my time reading them just to check.
