I think that you can use the in-built Parental Controls settings on an iPhone to prevent access to certain websites.

attempted muggging (in the Unicorn, Rye Lane) - Lounged

What Rye Lane need is a Body Shop, Lush or a Space NK. Something for everyone. -
If the above advice fails then then simplest solution would be a wired connection to your (presumably smart TV or laptop ?) . You probably won't want to trail a cable from your router so you could look at using one of the ethernet-over-the-mains type arrangements. You need a pair and one is plugged into the mains next to your router and connected using a short ethernet cable, then you have another one in your living room and you have another ethernet cable that connects it to your TV/Laptop. However if the device you're using to watch netflix only supports a wifi connection and not a wired connection then this won't be an option for you !

I asked Bill's and this was their response "Thank you for your enquiry. I'm afraid this is just a rumour as we currently have no plans to open in East Dulwich, although we'll certainly keep it in mind for future reference!"

Bob - I feel it's somewhat disrespectful if you don't even know the person's name or when they died. You are referring to Mark Hollis of the band Talk Talk who died in February 2019. Bog off back to your non-existent caravan.

Problem is KK, as you say above a fine for offenders wouldn't work as there wouldn't be a full time warden. If a ban was put in place, it also couldn't be easily enforced and I suspect there would still be a significant minority that would ignore it and let their dog's use it as a toilet anyway.

Not an issue from a handling perspective but you may find the ride a little harder as the thinner tyre is very slightly less "bouncy". They should have replaced like-for-like, or at least asked you if it was ok not to. I suspect that they didn't have a 42 in stock as they are less common. You say that they fixed the puncture, hmm, if you were paying for a new tyre then I would have thought they would have given you a new tube as well. Not a major issue but a new tube is pretty cheap tbh and not much more than the cost of fixing the puncture I would have thought. What brand of tyre did they fit on the back ? Others my have their view on the best brands but I have always fitted Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres to my bike that I use for commuting into town daily, year round and I'm tempting fate but I cannot remember the last time I had a puncture. They're about ?20 each.

Spot on as usual Foxy, I understand they're planning to charge you for the air you breathe as well. They'll be an allowance in your council tax but if you use any more you'll be heavily fined. You heard it hear first. -

Is this the one about the guy who got barked at by a dog on Peckham Rye and then followed the woman walking said dog taking pictures. She called her partner and when he tried to talk to the guy, he ran off and called the police. There was a long thread about this but I can't find it. -
Yawn.

Anyone been to The Castle lately ? Isn't that more of a C2DE-type establishment ?

A I guess should be expected with a development of this size there are a huge number of weighty documents on the planning portal. However just to focus on the parking/car ownership. There are planned to be 224 residential units as follows: 1 Bedroom - 2 Person 89 2 Bedroom - 3 Person 36 2 Bedroom - 4 Person 31 3 Bedroom - 4 Person 34 3 Bedroom - 5 Person 34 Apart from 7 disabled parking spaces (3%) there will no parking for any residents, which apparently is "is in accordance with the draft New London Plan." There will also be no "on street resident and business car-parking permits." There will be one - I repeat one - car club (i.e. zipcar-like) space. This seems quite radical to me. I'm certainly no petrol-headed car-lover but a development that has no provision for parking for 224 flats, could damage their market-ability I would have thought. The people purchasing the larger units are likely to be reasonably well-off and quite possible car owners already. Would they be prepared to sacrifice their car (or cars) ? What happens when you have a visitor (relative/healthcare/tradespeople) ? There doesn't seem to be any provision for that either. I'd be interested to know if there are other similar developments in London, of this scale, that also have no car provision.

Greed. Is it possible that (a) they pay more for their beer, Wetherspoons pay less because they are much larger and can negotiate discounts (b) they have better qualified kitchen staff and they pay them more © they use better quality ingredients that cost more > DulwichFox.

Not being much of a pub drinker, can someone enlighten me to the price differential for an average pint of bitter or lager between a Weatherspoons and somewhere on LL ?
-
Aren?t pubs closing at a rate of two a week ? How many impoverished locals would it take to keep a new pub open ? Have you tried the Dulwich Constitutional club, I believe their drinks are reasonable.

The central "chateaux" will be incorporated within the school buildings. See link to PDF's. Whilst I accept that preserving our heritage is important, in London where land and property prices are very high compared to other parts of the country and there is a demand for services which I feel should be housed in modern, fit for purpose premises, we need to be less sentimental about old buildings. A building designed for the needs of healthcare in the 19th century is not going to be state-of-art for 21st century. It?s running costs, maintenance requirements and carbon footprint are all going to be higher than the modern equivalent. IMO, the retention of the central ?chateaux? is a pure concession to assuage local outrage but it was opined by James Barber that retaining it was a ?a key aspect to get planning permission?. Perhaps these are one and the same. Anyways it?s use as part of the school is unclear. We should take pictures, videos and maybe even use VR technology to create an archive of the building, inside and out so that future generations can see what was there, even if they are unable to experience it for real. Then we should get rid of it.

DulwichFox Wrote: > That is why prices in East Dulwich have become so > high. Because a certain elements of E.D. > residents > feel the need to outdo others. If makes them feel > 'Superior' > I seriously doubt that any business in East Dulwich would price their products or services based on the expectation that the customers would want to pay extra so that it confirmed their status in the community. Personally I try to avoid pub roasts, especially in London. The culinary logistics mean that you're unlikely to get food cooked to order, no matter how much you are willing to pay. -
Docklands I think, Royal Docks maybe ?
