Windows 10 has been out a couple of years now and hence Microsoft recommends that you don?t try to upgrade as the computer you?re trying to upgrade is likely to be 3 plus years old and in these days of technological obsolescence it?s time it was replaced. However there are plenty of computers 7+ years old that will run win 10 happily an so upgrades are possible. The official cost of Win 10 is at least ?50, depending on the version you buy and the media it?s supplied on. Depending on the computer there?s no guarantee that the hardware will still be compatible with Win 10, one of the other reasons MS recommend you buy a new machine. There are links to articles that say that you can still upgrade for free. This could be worth a go as it would save you the cash, which if the upgrade failed would have been a waste. Whatever you do make sure anything important is backed up before starting any upgrade. https://www.zdnet.com/article/heres-how-you-can-still-get-a-free-windows-10-upgrade/

Google Photos is a one-way sync, i.e. if you sync your phone photo's with Google Photo's then delete them from your phone it won't delete them from the cloud. You can still view them using the Google Photo's app. However once you've downloaded them to your laptop them it doesn't matter whether they are deleted from the cloud or not if your sole objective was to move them to your laptop.

I'd do via Google Photos, storage (up to a fairly high resolution) is unlimited 1. Create a gmail account if you don't already have one 2. Download the Google photos app to your phone 3. Let the app sync the photos on your phone to the cloud 4. Login to your google account on your laptop and select the pictures you want to download Note when you download multiple pictures they are combined into a zip file that you'll need to unzip.

There's a plaque I think, attached the railings that marks the event and names those that were killed.

Or catch a 37 to Herne Hill. Direct trains from there.

ED - ?100 for a kids birthday cake? REALLY?
ed_pete replied to Angelina's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You could try the cafe/shop in East Dulwich Grove call a Piece of Cake. Their website is a bit basic but it looks like they make Birthday Cakes and although there are no prices, there are for other cakes e.g. Red Velvet = ?35. -

Could you try a freedom of information request to the Council or the School ?

We've used Sainsburys online delivery for a few years and it's worked for us by and large though they have recently shifted the delivery from Bell Green to DKH and as a result more items are out of stock. Never had an issue with the cleanliness of the crates but maybe we're less fussy or observant than others. Years ago, Sainsburys let you buy plastic boxes with handles that you could use when shopping in store. They don't sell these any more but we still have ours and just transfer the shopping from the crates which the delivery people place on our doorstep, to our boxes which we then carry into the kitchen. If they deliver anything in plastic bags then we empty it and hand it back to the delivery person.

Do you live in a flat and is it all on one floor ? If that's the case, your hot water pressure is never going to be great because it's down to the difference in height between the bottom of the header tank that is used to fill the hot tank and the height of the hot tap. If you have a bath then you may notice that the flow is slightly better than a basin tap, which is down to both the diameter of the pipe (usually larger for a bath) and the increased height difference (bath taps are usually lower down than basin taps). With this kind of low pressure system, any kind of blockage from the header tank to the hot taps is going to reduce the flow, this would be exacerbated by a dodgy ball valve that wasn't opening fully (thus filling the header tank slowly). Also if any of the (gate) valves in the system are corroded or stuck then then is not going to help either. The only thing I would try is to flush the system though with using some of the cold water pressure. I'd turn off the boiler, tie up the ballcock on the header tank to stop it from filling then and drain you hot water tank. Then, assuming your cold water pressure is OK I'd connect a hose from the cold tap to the hot tap and force the cold water the wrong-way through the pipework back to the header tank. Eventually the header tank should start to fill and then come out of an overflow pipe (hopefully one is fitted). Or, if accessible you could use a jug and bucket to empty the header - there may be all sorts of debris that gets flushed through that is causing the drop in flow. Good luck.

What's wrong with "incomers" ? Sounds slightly xenophobic to me. I do hope that you're new neighbours in Sidcup (or where ever you move to) are equally welcoming.

I?m guessing that the threaded rusted metal is about 5mm diameter. How about buying a short piece of plastic or brass tubing of the same diameter then cutting it to length and gluing it in place. Piece of tubing on eBay less than ?5.

Louisa - I imagine that you have started this thread because you're banned from the main section where there is already a discussion. I'm taking a wild guess that you're motivation is to re-hash the middle class blow-ins vs working class stalwarts debate. Nuff said. Is b-l-o-w i-n-s banned ?
