  1. What would happen if you had two part-time jobs of 3 days each ? Would that be worth 33.6 days holiday (i.e. 16.8 x 2) ?
  2. Seriously ? Do you really imagine that the developers have spent what I cannot believe would be less than a couple of million quid on a building and all the associated development plans without having gone through the legal fine print? Good luck to you John but I think you just wasted ?3. In any event, the developers seem more than happy to maintain (and enhance) the passageway between Rye Lane and Bussey/Copeland and that passageway looks to be integral to the building, so I would suggest that it has always been there.
  3. Surely all positive or all negative can't sum to zero ?
  4. I find the "overhang" curious and think it a feature of the elevation drawing and the fact the building is not square. I really do not think there is any intention to build over the top of Khans. As regards the passage, I don't think it can be widened that much - proposed ground floor plans show the removal of the right hand wall (from Rye Lane) and presumably glass frontages into the ground floor units. Interesting to know the developers would retain access to Bussey/Copeland whilst the work is undertaken.
  5. Assuming none of the values are themselves zero, then there are (2 x (2^(n-1))-2 permutations of positive and negative numbers. e.g. 5 numbers = 30 permutations. But in short there is no easy way to do this in Excel without resorting to VBA as Jeremy says.
  6. Blah Blah - take a look at the attached. Actually a lot of the nearby premises on Rye Lane are commercial with residential above so they are hardly setting a precedent.
  7. Makes a refreshing change from Billy bookcases. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?9,1595257
  8. What's the relevance of the owner/developer ?
  9. I guess it depends on how much you value the lights. If you use them outside and they blow then the worst that could happen is that the circuit breaker that your outside socket is connected to will trip. Having said that if you have one of those outside sockets that had a lid that has to remain open when something is plugged in then I think that you would need to replace this anyway as obviously it wouldn't be safe if it rained. If you did change it then you could put in an external socket that can be closed with a plug in it and incorporates an RCD so that only the socket would trip rather than the whole ring.
  10. Has anyone tried contacting Cosmur's head office or the Considerate Constructor Scheme (as I had previously suggested) rather than whinging on here ?
  11. Owner now found.
  12. Someone has left two, unused, still in bags, 2.5 litre tins of specialist paint in a cardboard box on the street near my house since Wednesday. If these are yours then please PM me specifying the type of paint. The box was on the street in the Trossachs Road/Thorncombe Road area. Owner now found.:)
  13. Interesting sentence in the conclusion: A key challenge in implementing traffic calming schemes to improve population health is to think about affecting cultural change in terms of public attitudes towards roads and speed as without changes in the mentality of both drivers and residents, the success of such schemes may be limited or even have counterintuitive effects.
  14. And yet Barclays maintain a branch in the Village, on Lordship Lane and in Peckham.
  15. @slarti b - bear in mind that this junction is actually in Village Ward and therefore perhaps you should be directing your request at those councillors (at least as well) [email protected] [email protected] [email protected]
  16. I don't think this all falls to the current administration. Decreasing the amount of traffic, with an aim to meet emissions targets, increase cycling and improve safety for all road users are part of the Mayors Transport Strategy (Google it). I have a mail in my inbox from TFL asking me for my views on cycle safety - that initiative has nothing to do with Southwark.
  17. It's difficult to say whether your gas and electric bill are unreasonable as there are many factors: provider cost, insulation, temperature you find comfortable, how long your heating is on for etc etc and as Loz says Tumble Driers are notoriously pricey to run. You could check one of the price comparison sites (e.g. Uswitch) to see if there are cheaper deals out there). With only one thermostat it sounds like your home's heating is all being treated as a single "zone" i.e. when the thermostat turns the boiler on, the water is pumped round all the radiators in the house. Although you can control the temperature in individual rooms by going round and altering the TRV's that isn't necessarily the most user friendly approach. You need to do a bit of research on "zoned" heating systems and maybe get a heating engineer round to talk through the options. There are systems out there that provide individual timers and thermostats on each radiator (essentially zoning each room) but this is probably an overkill and is expensive. HTH
  18. Anyone know who the contractor is and whether they are registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme. You can check here and make a complaint. http://www.ccscheme.org.uk/index.php/affected-by-works
  19. Not exactly what you're after but it's cheap. https://www.gumtree.com/p/sofas/vintage-comfortable-armchair-/1133697143
  20. Come on now, play the game. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1571419,1572089#msg-1572089
  21. @rorsome CPZ's are a very contentious subject however I'll attempt to objectively summarise what happened. Way back in 2011 (I think) there was a consultation on introducing a CPZ in some of the streets either side of Grove Vale on the premise that a lot of commuters were using these streets for parking for East Dulwich station. There were a lot of opposing view on this forum and James Barber who came in for a lot a criticism as he supported the proposals. There was also a great deal of concern that the CPZ would create overspill into the adjoining streets the inevitable conclusion of which would be the widening of the CPZ area. Ultimately the Council backed down and that was the end of it.
  22. Anyone know when JAGS are due to start work on their new Theatre ? I can't imagine the construction traffic helping the situation at all.
  23. 37 to Brixton then tube or 37 to Herne Hill and train to St Pancras. Have you not heard of the Tfl journey planner ?
  24. Or depending on how close to Peckham Rye / Denmark Hill you are you could London Overground to Clapham Junction and then change for train to Kingston.
  25. Actually FM I think it first mentioned on this thread by BrandNewGuy in a post further up. But you're more interested in having a jab at JB than the facts I guess.
