Not sure how you could make it mandatory RC. TBH I find the constant fighting between the factions (cyclists/car drivers/pedestrians) etc quite weary on this forum. I am all three and I see transgressions every day, I cycle and yes I see loads of cyclists jump lights and others (ninjas) that wear all black and ride without lights. I see drivers on their mobiles, drivers that don't signal left, last night I saw a guy on a motor scooter trying to text one handed whilst riding around the Bricklayers Arms roundabout. There is fault on all sides.

Is it me or are pedestrians becoming bolder and/or stupid ? I commute by bike and regularly have to play chicken with pedestrians wishing to cross the road. A typical scenario is this: person standing on the right hand pavement ahead of me. Pedestrian sees me and a car that is behind me and starts to cross the road. Car overtakes me by which point the pedestrian is standing in the middle of the road. As soon as the car has passed the pedestrian they continue to cross the road heading for my path. End up within touching distance of my right as I go past. And it?s not just me as a cyclist, I regularly see people standing in the middle of the Old Kent Road (2/3 lanes on each side) waiting for a gap in the traffic. What I also find disheartening is that often it?s parents with children doing this ? whatever happened to road safety education ? I belong to the Green Cross Code man generation and I must have worked for me: ?Find a safe place to cross away from parked cars?? I don?t want this to be seen as a diatribe against pedestrians but more of a comment on the lack of Road Safety Awareness education.

James - much as I'd love to, my day job prevents me from carrying out such a survey and anyway, in reponse to an earlier question on this very thread you said that the Council officials would already have data on traffic volumes and flows. It's just a pity they didn't include this information in the consultation. Given the budget of circa ?200k, I would have thought that they could pay for some people to count the cars and bikes for a few hours for a few days. TBH, I would have thought this a pre-requisite.

I'd be really interested to see the statisitics: - number of cars turning right from Townley vs number of cyclists heading straight on. - number of times cars turn right from Townley and there is no cyclists coming the other way. Banning the right turn seems like a sledgehammer to crack a nut, and I say this as a regular cyclist, someone who commutes to London daily and has done so for almost 20 years. I'm sure that the best way to alieviate this would be a cycle only green light from Greendale that operated for 5-10 seconds before the lights went green in both directions. It would need to be either button operated or sensitive to the prescence of a cyclist so that it didn't operate when there was no one waiting.

Actually I work in the IT department but not on the desktop side. The technology isn't the issue really it was more of a question as to how people file stuff and the pro's and con's of a folder based approach versus a tag/category/label approach.

Tagging is the same as categories so yes that's supported, as is the ability attach multiple tags or categories to the same mail. I'll take a look a the third-party route but it's not likely to fly in my corporate environment.

For almost as long as I?ve used email at work I?ve always used Outlook. Outlook directs you store your emails in a hierarchical folder structure which I find increasingly frustrating and I?m thinking about changing to using categories instead. My problem with folders is that classic one: as soon as you subdivide stuff it?s not easy to bring common mails backs together in a single view. I?m going to use a poor record collection analogy. Say you file stuff by genre, then by decade, then by solo artist or group then it?s easy to find The Damned (Punk/70?s/Group) but not so easy to find Madonna (Pop/80?s/Solo, Pop/90?s/Solo, Pop/00?s/Solo etc). I do have two concerns about using categories. Firstly I have a lot of folders, over 90, and therefore if I assume that my folder structure is valid then I?ll need the same number of categories. Secondly the process of assigning categories is cumbersome in Outlook, adding stuff to folders is far easier. How do you file stuff so that you can find it easily in future ? Please don?t suggest that I ditch Outlook that isn?t an option as it?s the company?s de-facto email client.

Yeah. I emailed the Gong bar and they said tables has to be booked and minimum charge was ?30 a head. Might try the Aqua bar which is walk in and can't be booked.
