  1. Did you go to Mondays at the Zap Woof? I'm still in touch with Choci, Harvey's defected and is living the life in LA, no idea what happened to Rev. Had some great nights at their dos.
  2. I've got a cookbook by the doyen of Italian cookery, Marcella Hazan, and I think she would be spinning in her grave at your comment "mostly dough and pasta"!! Obviously pizza and pasta is the commercial side of Italian cookery but a restaurant serving real Italian cooking would be fab.
  3. Hey Woof, I was a Tonka girl
  4. looking at where the flowers etc were placed, I'd say the truck was at fault in that particular situation.
  5. I don't know the details and I'm not passing judgement on anyone's driving/cycling in this situation, but there are a lot of inexperienced people who think they can just jump on a bike and ride merrily around London. I regularly see cyclists blithely riding up the inside of large vehicles unaware of the danger they could be in. There is free cycle training available and really, people should use it.

  10. I also got a takeaway - bruschetta pomodoro fantastico - 3 good pizzas very good value. Well worth it.
  11. If you really want to know : Nicolas, yes I know it's a chain but hey ho decent French plonk at good prices and something a little better for special occasions.
  12. oh, you can never tell what will catch the imagination here, specially if there's not much else goin on
  13. OMG, I wonder where all these other newly registered (cheesyfeet et al) posters on this forum live? Do they live in or have anything to do with ED or are they just jumping in on something they know little about just to back up their chum? If it's the latter - and who knows they may all be the same person - I think they should bugger out of it. It's only a frickin restaurant don't all get so up your arses about it, honestly foodies lighten up. Edited for rogue apostrophe
  14. I'd stopped believing it by number 3 I think

    In your yooooof

I put on a party at the arch in Vauxhall in '89, I can't remember what the venue was called if it was called anything. It's still going though, I went to a party there a few years ago. The club on Nine Elms got closed down, I think there was a death or two there, can't remember what it was called either (memory a bit hazy 89 - 93)
  16. It's not just the telly tho' is it. It's the jolly old world service and Rs 1 2 3 4 5 too. Frankly I cannot stand the shreiking adverts on the telly or the radio, they make me want to gouge my eyes out and stick them in my ears so I am thankful for the few services that don't have them.
  17. I woz there with kaleidescope eyes (still am given half a chance)
  18. I'm gonna chack out the new pizza joint, more my budget anyway.
  19. You know what, it really pisses me off when my posts are broken down and nit-picked. It happens to be my opinion, if you have a different one, state it but don't make out my opinion is wrong. Thanks. Personally I prefer Palmerston to Franklins but maybe that's 'cos I'm a non meat-eater. Last year I had a celebratory meal at Franklins and the food was unimpressive and the service pretty ropey. Maybe it was an off day.
  20. I've eaten in the Palmerston several times and always been very impressed with the quality of the food, the style of cooking and the size of the portions. Yes it is pricey but it certainly is not the most expensive place I've been - the prices are not far off Le Chardon and the quality is far better. I haven't been for a while though. I think we are very fortunate to have food of this standard on our doorstep. Did you take up your disappointment with the staff Helen, or just use it as inspiration for your food blog? I haven't bothered to read your critique, sorry.
  21. That section of Melbourne Grove is hardly off the beaten track. loads of people walk that way after getting off the train. Glad to hear the food is decent but the colour is dreadful.
