It certainly does happen. Two or three years ago, I was behind a guy at the Barclays bank ATM on the corner ( Lordship Lane). He left without taking his ?30, I genuinely ran down the street after him but couldn't catch up. I kept the money, with hind site perhaps I should have taken it up to the Police Station or given it to charity. I did neither, but I wouldn't have kept the money if it had been ?100 or more. I have in the past handed in wallets and so forth to the police. I think you're going to have to hope the money got sucked up before the next person approached. Good luck and learn from the experience.

I watched some of it ( I quite liked Stevie Wonders' conribution). Was there any in-put from his parents? Obviously that are elderly now and the relationship with his father has been much talked about. Am I the only one who thinks perhaps his mother had a part to play in the person he bacame? Seeing the grieving family on stage together just seemed somehow odd. A bit too 'stage managed', perhaps that's the real problem with the person lying in the silver cask.

Schools in the East Dulwich area. Help!

You can't put a pre-school child on a waiting list. But school-age children can for a variety of reasons. As your child is only one, a lot can happen in 3 to 4 years. -
Dead black cat - top of Barry Road

Sorry to hear that, I think the original poster meant well but I have idea where the cat might be if it is yours. Perhaps you should phone Southwark Council? Hope your cat turns up safe and well. -
Schools in the East Dulwich area. Help!
Ann replied to zigthetwig's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I agree with Jessie ( and by the way I hope your son likes his school in September). There are lots of lovely local primary schools where our children continue to thrive. The area has become so popular for young families places have become scarce. If it was just your 10 year old you could probably easily find a place at your chosen school, but with a year 2 (?) as well you may have more luck than those who presently have 4 year olds. I would check Ofsted to get names and addresses and perhaps make some phone calls to get your girls on waiting lists ASAP. However the area is popular for a reason. This is a lovely part of London and I'm glad my children are growing up here. Stay with the Ed forums, they have their uses! Ann -
Delighted to hear the news!:))

So sorry to hear this desperate dad. Unfortunately I don't have your camera but I believe my son was in the vicinity today. I shall ask him when he gets in. Please don't let this ruin your pleasure of your new daughter, use your camers phone in the meantime if you have one. I do believe many on these forum would help you if they could. Good luck! Ann

When my children were there ( last one left two years ago) there were children who came from Peckham, Forest Hill, Camberwell and other places. However the admissions system has changed since then and it would seem there are far more children seeking primary school places locally which seems to have made the whole process more of a lottery for everyone. I do know that one of my son's friends has a little sister who has a place for September and they live in Forest Hill( and said friend was not an ex pupil). So you don't have to be literally living in Se22. They have their school fair tomorrow, it might be worth popping along. That's as much as I can say, other than perhaps talking to Father O'Connor. Good luck, it is a lovely school. Ann

This is terrible, our thoughts and prayers for their families.

I have the same thing on my computer. Glad I'm not the only one but I don't really understand the explanations but thanks for trying.

Try the Thai Corner Cafe on Northcross Road. Lovely food, reasonably priced and you can bring your own wine. A very popular local restaurant.

I hadn't seen this pair for a while and was getting a little worried. However my son saw them last week on Crystal Palace road. They chatted and he confirmed that the dog was very old and as others have said the dog often walks ahead, but waits for him if he turns a corner.

Has anyone else heard the fireworks at 10.45 tonight?
Ann replied to A's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip

New pasta / pizza joint in Melbourne Grove
Ann replied to David Mc's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi, I wemt there this evening at about 8.30pm. Hoped to order some Pizzas to take-away but they'd run out of the base mixture. Not a huge range of choice but the Pizza's I saw being served looked delicious and very authentic. Have ben to Italy a few times with my family and can confirn these look and smell very much like proper Italin Pizza. I'll just have to go a bit earlier next time. Hopefully this is a sign that the busimess is going well. -
I thought it was more like Cerebral palsy which can present itself in several ways. Either way I wish her well. You can't help but think that her life has been incredibly sheltered but protected by people who care about her. She certainly would not have been use to much attention. I have no experience of 'show buisness' but let's face it, it's not for the faint hearted.

On Upland Road, near junction with Fellbrigg Road. The ownner is very friendly and the fish and chips are always fresh. He had the place refurbished last year and has planned to do pie and chips, but this hasn't materialized yet. I go there often on a Friday, I'll ask if the plan for pie and mash will go ahead. Either way I'd recommend the Fish and Chips.

This place sound like incredibly good value. Will give it a shot. -
I've never eaten there Helen but I must say those prices seem high. I would have chosen dishes similar to yours and I must say they look tasty from the photographs. But let's face it no one likes meagre portions. I would be interested in what others think if they have been there. I'm sure for some it is worth the money.

I see where you're coming from Daizie but I think the controversy in the past about Phone voting has forced the TV companies to clarify the rules on this. The fact that Diversity won over the much acclaimed and Bookies favourite Susan Boyle somewhat confirms this. Why do people think that Diversity's win was a fix? They were IMO by far the best performers on the night and had come in as second after Susan Boyle in the semi-final.

I don't understand the original post. I have thouroughly enjoyed this years BGT. It was an excellent final and I voted for the winners Diversity.

Keep well. Let's hope your message gives hope and inspiration to others, I'm sure it will.
