  1. Saved by the safest triple... ever. Simonsig, Quevega and Sprinter Sacre, each way Master of the Sea sees me ?7.50 up!! Tomorrow I'm "lumping in" 7.5 squid on Bog Warrior. You have been warned! edited cos I'm drunk on the 15ml of Champagne

    Zedel

Zedel is very good. A 2 course meal for 3 with a couple of glasses of wine for ?60. It's run by Chris Corbin and Jeremy King. Just don't expect to bed in for the long run.

  4. Agreed RD it is good if "our" teams do well in Europe, if only this translated to the national team then I'd buy in wholeheartedly but as we know, it doesn't. My neutrality in this competition has its limits though, I'll support anyone and I mean ANYONE playing against Chelsea.
  5. Chip shops use machines, whole spud in, and er.... chips come out. Hand cut is just another elevation of ordinary stuff to w**k status
  6. Yes RD you can. I support West Ham for my sins, as you know. The Champions League is a club competition and as far as I'm concerned has nothing to do with nationality, its just a chance for me to watch Football at the professed highest level. And I apologise for the mischief but in the grand scheme of things it's only football innit.

I don't support United and I don't support Madrid, not that difficult to ascertain is it? And the Karma comment was a mischievous little prod alluding to the seemingly endless stream of teams claiming to have been victims of dodgy refereeing at Old Trafford. But you knew that anyway.
  8. I'm not sure the ref last night was to blame. From his view it looked pretty nasty, he consulted the linesman and off he went. I think with challenges like that 4 out of 10 times the player walks, last night was just one of those times. Of course it was a game changer and of course it was a huge game but those are the breaks. Some might even call it Karma. ( spoken from the P.O.V of neutral tellybox watcher)
  9. Yep, used in countless ad shoots. Great Omlette and chips, owners sold up about 5/6 years ago.
  10. John Terry must have pictures of Abramovich and a choirboy or something. That's the only reason I can see for his, seemingly continued involvement in dressing room/ manager discord. Scum indeed.
  11. Different to the original and Spacey is fantastically malevolent. I'm loving it.
  12. A friend of mine is making/ made a film on this. I have no experience to comment but it might be of interest to you and your Soul family. I think the link is www.northernsoulthefilm.com.
  13. Saw The Flight. Great swaggering performance by Denze, sadly the film isn't quite the vehicle that his portrayal deserves.
  14. i'm so down about the Irons at the moment that i'm longing for some good old fashioned east end lunacy. Secretly and after a couple of down at heel Stellas I dream....... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21300099
  15. Smoked thick streaky, fried. Thick cut bloomer, remove bacon from frying pan, add one slice of bloomer to pan, fry in fat. Place bacon on fried side of bread, mustard on the unfried bit, assemble, stuff in gob, feel heart slow a bit.
  16. Aaaaah Tomas Repka, turning circle of an Oil Tanker, face of an Oil Tanker.
  17. Yes Quids you're correct but this was a London derby and Allardyce insulted both the game and the fans.
  18. Wot Maxxi said with effing bells on. BFS was saved by the Potts injury as no-one asked him about his team selection, which was ridiculous. You can't go to The Emirates and pick a second string team, no Diame, J Cole, Jarvis,Diarra etc. The only legit absence was Collins. I wouldn't mind but we're not even playing this weekend. I want my ?60 and dignity back.
  19. Detroit, with a local "dude" and ex junkie showed us the less than touristy side of the Motor Town. One way street, stuff going down, guns and reverse, quick...... The Bishop 1.30 Sunday morning, any Sunday morning.
  20. Strafer don't I know it! HNY all.
  21. AM, my best friend is a sufferer and over the years his repeated attacks have affected his career ( consultant of emergency medicine) and his family. He is now a full time Lithium user and it is apparent to all that he is 85% of the person that we all know and love. He has undergone CBT with some success, however, as with a lot of medical professionals he knows better. His mania is a thing of awe, sadly his lows can strike him down for months, leading him on three occasions to disappear. Two things his CB Therapist has repeatedly advised is exercise and a decent diet including plenty of oily fish. My friend is a junk food addict and very overweight (I know, he's a Doctor etc. etc.). I remember Stephen Fry did a series on Bipolar a few years ago and the case studies involved a Surgeon who controlled her "friend" by staying away from a high pressure career (she did locum work as a GP) and ate plenty of fish which seemed to fend off the the Black Dog. I know a lot of this is not relevant to your relative but exercise and a good diet seem to help, as does CBT. PaulK, may you break your wrist flagellating at your own reflection.
  22. For the U.S.A pro gun lobby, mental health seems to be the main issue. However gun ownership and marketing is as cynical as flogging cigarettes. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/25/business/real-and-virtual-firearms-nurture-marketing-link.html?_r=0

    Scary pubs

Ditto The Chandos. Football(full blast), Drum and Bass(full blast), more gurning punters than a Dairy Farm, wall to wall nylon and a pool table. Hell.
  24. Or we could wait for the inquest where the details of the suicide note will be shared with the coroner. Then you can have someone to point at and blame. If that makes you feel better.
  25. What I don't understand is the constant battle against contracts that is peculiar (seemingly) to Arsenal. In recent years Viera, Henry, Fabregas, Van Persie and now Walcott are running down contracts to expedite their leaving. Wenger doesn't negotiate contracts, he has a board for that and to my mind something stinks upstairs. I'm a huge Wenger fan, he changed football not just at Arsenal but for every club through diet and fitness. I'm pretty sure "The Invincibles" are unique in world football allied to that I remember "boring, boring Arsenal", a team I truly despised.
