Infringing music license does occassionally get taken seriously. Didn't Dulwich Hamlet lose license for this reason?

Can't see anything from plan that suggests ST Francis Road would be proposed route as all the plans seem to still show it as a cul-de-sac. Aside from not being suitable for handling that volume of traffic, the access points at end of cul-de-sac are in private ownership so would be a non starter. Hadley are just testing the water at the moment. Whatever they actually have planned is probably some way off from being revealed.

I've just won an appeal in relation to a station car park. The basic defence was that the fine did not represent the true cost to the parking company of me parking there (I had purchased a ticket by phone on train, but after parking ticket had already been issued). For me there was the opportunity to submit appeal to POPLA.

According to Southwark's planning site basement permissions are still pending. -
It's a very respected architect being used so I suspect they will find their way around any hurdles.

6.7 billion quid to build the Olympic facilities omg!
lpool replied to fazer71's topic in The Lounge
Funny how if something cost several billion then it must be due to high profit margins. Some things really do cost a lot of money to build, and that's without anyone making a profit. Good job it wasn't delivered for ?400m otherwise there might be accusations of cutting corners. -
Has anyone tried our floating pontoon to Pontoon Dock as part of journey home from Exel?

Is Travel during the Olympics Going to be a Nightmare?
lpool replied to TransportGuy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not sure why Vince is saying mornings won't be a problem. I will be having words. The thing to remember us that whilst many morning events are preliminary rounds they are still nearly all sold out so you can expect as many people going I events as later in the afternoon. Day 3 sees the cross-country at Greenwich. This is 55,000 ticketed spectators, many of whom will be travelling via Southeastern to Greenwich or Blackheath. This, combined with a Jubilee service that will be very busy with people going to the Park means you risk a grid-lock effect at London Bridge with no where for arrivals to go down onto the tube and several thousand wanting access to the main station concourse. As a regular user of Lindon Bridge I hate changes and the re-routing of passengers but having sat down with the plans with Network Rail's director in charge of planning for Games I can see the logic, no matter how crazy it might seem. I will be based at Canary Wharf during the Games plus visiting all key transport locations, and I know that my biggest problem will be getting off Canary Wharf between 4pm and 7pm because the Jubilee Line will be so busy, even with the odd empty train planned to run from North Greenwich and Canary Wharf. To the person thinking of parking at Telegraph Hill, I wish you luck! It could take a very long time to get out of the area. My advice would be go by train and head for Blackheath station afterwards as this is likely to be less busy than Greenwich. Dispersal of crowds after events in Greenwich Park is likely to be fairly slow with people hanging around the park or going into Greenwich so an early exit might not take as long queuing to get into the station. -
I'll check for latest travel plans by LOCOG for 23 and 25 rehearsals. I'm going along to watch 23rd and really looking forward to it. My advice is stay clear of Javelin between St Pancras and Stratford for normal travel as queue times will be high. It is an option after Opening Ceremony though back to London as running all night every 30 minutes. Sorry will not be able to fast track volunteers. My favourite route to Park is driving to Ebbsfleet and catch Javelin that end. Does not run all night though so not an option if one of the performers who stay to the end of show. There will hopefully be an overnight rail service into Liverpool Street from Stratford but still being finalised. During Games I switch to using a motorbike as based at Canary Wharf and Stratford. London Bridge will be especially busy and so alternative routing plans are needed to avoid grid lock. Day 3 will be the one day I suggest try and travel via an alternate station as equestrian at Greenwich.

Is Travel during the Olympics Going to be a Nightmare?
lpool replied to TransportGuy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Normally I would comment and give advice here but as Transportguy who started this thread is possibly a journalist I will restrict myself to saying it will be very busy and that using the GAOG website is a smart move as it will tell you which stations within London will be very busy at certain times of the day. -
Only a few houses on the estate where it might be possible to do two storey extension as tends to cut light to next door. Internal layout also makes it hard to do loft conversion as little room to put stairs.
-
Interesting to hear about problems performers having now that security stepped up. I'll drop a line to LOCOG Ceremonies to see if any other arrangements possible.

Attended a Suzy Lamplough session recently where they presented an air alarm. Would recommend it as it has ability to disable person for few seconds as so loud.

176 should be ok but not sure about any others as tend to be run by London Central.

You will struggle during Olympics to change at Canada Water onto Jubilee as trains will be very full. Check the TfL hotspot messaging re when to avoid.

I have something to do with Spectator transport for the Games so I will try and provide odd updates during Games on best ways to travel. My favourite route is to drive to Ebbsfleet and travel in on Javelin. It may be quicker some days than going via central London. From East Dulwich using East London line is a good way to go to Park. We've put in lot of cycle bays at Park but expect them to be popular.

Oakhurst Grove-planning permission for windows

We had all our sash windows converted to double glazed and proper draft proofing. Much cheaper than replacing and makes big difference re heat and noise. We used Sash Window Company. -

Adventure Bar licence extension -again
lpool replied to peterstorm1985's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've lived in ED for 15 years and very close to Adventure Bar. Most weekends get woken up now by shouting etc in small hours as people going home from Lordship Lane. Agree with earlier comment that people travel over to ED to visit bars. Noisiest people at 2am seem to be those who have arrived by car and have little interest in respecting area.
