Do we have a Defibrillator in East Dulwich?

Forest Hill Road Group Practice has one, you'd hope that other surgeries do as well. In terms of a list, I think The London Ambulance Service has a list of registered AED's. It is not only having one, but the cost of their sitting, ongoing maintenance and charging so AED's are always serviceable when needed to be used. -

Rye Lane reopening to buses, but permanent closure still looms
jazzer replied to IainJ's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Peckham was a shopping destination probably 50 years ago when it had "proper" shops on Rye Lane (see previous posts). Look at it then and compare it to now (there is no comparison to the changes it has ben through). People in and from Peckham work hard and have never had it easy, it has always been a struggle, gentrification is the last thing it needs, it will continue to drive out the originals. And - anyone remember when the council installed pop up bollards in Hanover Park which were never used/worked. Another dumb ass scheme concocted by cllrs to control traffic. Let the buses now run as they always used to. -
East Dulwich and the surrounding area has a wide array of retail food outlets, some better than others, some cheaper or expensive than others, we all have choice dependant on our personal shopping budgets. Shopping for general items revolves around any of the big four supermarkets (even better if what they have and what I need is of on a special offer), Lidl or Aldi for speciality items i.e. jams or Polish honey or spices or dried herbs etc. We have a number of local bakers (not cheap) but IMO far better than 99% of the in store supermarket produced bread, a number of butchers - you take your choice, fruit and veg - generally from Sainsbury as IMO quality is better than the other supermarkets, again you pay for what you need, but given that have not been disappointed in the past by fruit or veg from Lidl. I've only ever used home delivery for two reasons - bulky items or when I was ill and homebound, otherwise I much prefer to go to the shops and select the items I need as opposed to those items I want. And if they are out of stock either forgo or try somewhere else. I find shopping is a balance between freshness, cost, availability and convenience.

sainsbury local lordship lane incident

Second everything said by heartblcok, the quicker resuscitation begins the better chance of survival, although rates of Out of Hospital cardiac arrests are very low being between 5 - 8%. Perhaps Southwark Lewisham and Lambeth Councils can work together to have more community AED's available. These pieces of equipment can make all the difference between survival and fatality. https://www.londonambulance.nhs.uk/calling-us/emergency-heart-care/ -
Reported in the newspapers today, Javid to tear up social distancing in surgeries to give thousands more face to face appointments. Already at Kings College Hospital the restrictions are being eased to make access and exiting much easier. X ray service there yesterday was super efficient and excellent.

Electricity and gas prices going up - what will you do?
jazzer replied to Nigello's topic in The Lounge
Clearly Cat what you've been saying about the rises in gas prices has been spot on, as now reported on BBC News. But also the spike has very slightly dropped as Russia has increased the supply, hopefully the decrease in the spike price will continue, however News also reporting that the price cap may rise from ?1277 to ?1660. -

What is the live market data? And where is the data from? What is the market? The energy market??? The oil market? As you don't say what it is how are we supposed to know? It's like a newspaper stating something but not the source from which it came, a Govt dept, a Minister, The Church, a trade body etc. TheCat Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Umm not really....we pay a fee for access to live > market data, I can't just post it on random > internet forum I'm afraid..and Im not really > trying to win an argument here or prove a point > with evidence. > > The price was up 20 percent today for wholesale 1 > month future on UK Nat gas...I just thought people > without that live access may be interested in > that....you can either choose to believe that or > not, I don't really mind which! -

So can you post your data to show the increase, Quantitative data is the best way to demonstrate this. -

Rye Lane reopening to buses, but permanent closure still looms
jazzer replied to IainJ's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Shouldn't it be what the people (constituents and traders) want, and not what the councillors want to force on the people and traders. As others have said Peckham Rye Station is a main interchange and not having access to a convenient bus service is nothing less than total madness. Roll on 18th October. -

From the radio commentary sounded very much as though for the first 6 rounds AJ did very little and then did too little too late. KK summarised the fight very well.

Electricity and gas prices going up - what will you do?
jazzer replied to Nigello's topic in The Lounge
Probably we'd be on a set tariff and with no choice. That isn't to say that the current situation of providers going bust is right either. For anyone's energy provider who has gone bust and has/is being moved to another (likely much larger provider) on a much increased rate, I feel for you. I can only suggest let Energy UK do the switch which they are required to do and once complete take a look at that energy companies tariffs and see if their is a more suitable tariff or look at the market and see where you can switch to. -
