Loz, I was confused by that link myself. There has also been conflicting reports on when the US doctor first saw Charlies results. And reports of his deterioration. Blah blah yes it would have to be looked at as evidence the problem is the way it was given. How horrendous for them.

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/07/25/health/charlie-gard-us-doctor/index.html Parents back in court to bring him home to die.

If you can't see anything fucked up with the parents finding out the results the way they did, or don't see any connection to a break down of communication or disregard then that's your view. I would have thought it fell outside of the law, the couples solicitor has argued it should not have came out then. I suppose it's easier to scrutinise the parents. http://metro.co.uk/2017/07/22/charlie-gards-dad-screams-evil-when-told-about-devastating-mri-scan-6797992/

Blah blah I understand what you are saying, but to This is a rare disease, it is not clear how the earlier scans differed from the most recent but it seems there was a substantial change for the parents to give up the fight. There seems to be an assumption that the parents could not understand the condition because they were emotionally overcome.
-
I thought conflict of interest was taken as the norm now or is our NHS free from that. I think the QC for gosh should beunder scrutiny, although the results of the scan were given just before the court case, who gave permission for access by the legal team before the parents were told. For the parents to hear in that way does not reflect well on respect shown to them.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/07/24/charlie-gard-mothers-full-statement-sorry-couldnt-save/ There seems to be conflict regarding previous scans, the parents and it seems some doctors believe up until latest scan there was no irreversible brain damage. The fact this couple have given up there fight after this recent scan shows they have understanding of the whole situation which is much more than a diagnosis.

Yeah loz cause thats what i said about them. I have supported people in hospital and can respect peoples choices. Black and white.

Yeah in your life Saffron. It was mentioned in another post, tho opposite situation of parents withholding treatment. If something goes wrong at birth, not excluding why, Most people would be glad and feel safe to be in hospital. I went against medical advice to have a home birth, and was often accused of being selfish considering the health problems I had. There was an assumption that life and death decisions were not to be trusted with the mother. Each person has reasons (personal) for there decisions but whenever It becomes a decision outside of where most people Would rather hand over.trust someone else to have overall responsibility the individual is secondary, to the law.
-
If we had a medical system that owned up to its own mistakes and wrong decisions was more open when families are looking for answers, this would bring a different respect. When a case comes to court where the parents not only have hope but are being offered something that mag help.who has the right to take that asay.A syst that undeniably saves lives but also causes , suffering (albeit attempted control), with premature children, and the child does not survive. This may seem off the mark, but hospital births on there own, take the choice away from parents if something is wrong.

http://www.gosh.nhs.uk/frequently-asked-questions-about-charlie-gard-court-case Above GOSH addressing the public. Why was the parents not given the results of the scan, before it being used as evidence in court. Where is the respect for the parents.

Hi, Because we do not know if you have contacted any of the suggestions, if not, is this because it's to difficult to phone. You said you would like to meet up with others who are also grieving, this is possible through suggestions given. You can ask youd Doctod to be referred for Talking Therapy. I may be wrong but I don't believe many people would feel able to help on a one to one meeting, outside of an established organisation. Please try to get in touch with one or more of suggeations. If your looking to meet a group you can let them know. I hope you find the help you need.

A lot of dogs are carried in bags because of breathing problems and the inability to walk far comfortably. I think it's disgusting breeding animals for a specific look, knowing the health problems that goes with the flat face etc. Sue, although you may have posted regarding your link, which is not in your original post, it is hard to ignore the problem of dogs bred for some People who think its cute or whatever they feel, to want to carry a dog around that is often disabled. http://www.express.co.uk/news/nature/652855/Cruel-cost-pedigree-dog-breeding-Crufts-2016

Yeah me to malumba, I picked from a toddler, my mum used to say "pick the low ones so I don't get a sore back" when I was tired she'd put a blanket in an empty crate and i'd fall asleep hearing alsorts of voices chattering and singing. Once we got a bit older we were expected to pick, I was an nabbler, we did not keep the money we made, we knew there were things to buy and happily handed it over. And it felt like a holiday.
-
It was more fun than potato picking, children got a half bit, or three of you on one bit ( a bit measured by steps) if you were really young. If the kids held the digger up, the adult they came with had to pick there bit too. A fire was always burning which encouraged you to pick quick so you would be able to warm yourself.
-
Berry picking was a way of life over summer, in the early 80's Thatcher sent fraud officers onto the fields to nick anyone claiming benefits, same with a lot of the field work. Children grew up picking for there clothes and maybe get an ice cream a couple of times through the picking weeks. The singing could be heard all over the fields. Loved it.
