Rahrahrah This behaviour is criminal,It has been going on for years, if it was anyone else I Expect they would be looking at a fraud charge. Southwark council have been known to sub contract Ex employers back after being poached by private companies needing experienced staff. I know one case where Southwark council were paying much more to sub contract there ex emplyee than they paid whilst he was employed by them. Its disgusting. I agree with the poster above, there should be criminal sentences handed out.Its organised Crime.
  2. I think statictics are difficult around deaths, Here's a link from greenpeace. http://energydesk.greenpeace.org/2017/03/06/air-pollution-cause-40000-deaths-every-year-fact-check-linked/ Louisa,I understand we can learn from the past, I grew up where coal was our source for hot water, and I do believe its easy to loss view of changes Happening now, I realise studies can take time, Eg the waste incinerator health studied, expected Reports 2014, delayed again. https://www.mrw.co.uk/latest/incinerator-health-study-delayed-again/10014152.article Yes there is a place for past as long as it doen't cloud over new areas where i believe the goverment should be accountable to prioritising studies, where we know it is affecting health.
  3. ED history, yes healing, as in lung functions being Monitored, whilst learning breathing exercises, and other forms of meditation, connecting with your breath and more importantly for me personally, taking responsibility for my own health. Edited to say, and singing, it is much more to me Than just singing.
  4. Nigello, I'm refering to the gdiesel generator Farms being subsidised now to back up the national Grid. Louisa I've been involved with research, looking at Lung disease this last year and a half. Looking at singing as a healing tool. Last week we met with The guy who started the project to look at rssultz, Not yet published. Although air pollution was not Part of the study he said it definitely came up so often in the research it was impossible not to include it in the findings. I do not feel comparing A problem from the past when the present may have got better, but still having a huge negative impact, as a point of debate , discourages recognising the problems now. Yes it has its place, but I feel it encourageous stagnancy, if thats a word, ha ha.
  5. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/london-toxic-air-alert-very-high-pollution-sadiq-khan-mayor-of-london-warning-system-latest-a7542036.html 5 days into 2017 London broke the annual limit For air pollution.
  6. Hey kid kruger, why wouldnt a panel run an ice cream van. Does it need so much energy. I wouldnt have thought a fridge and ice cream maker would run Up much.
  7. Kid kruger heres a link, realise it is the Guardian There is a link within the link to click, i can't do it on my phone. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/jul/15/nearly-9500-people-die-each-year-in-london-because-of-air-pollution-study I thought most ice cream vans had a generators, I would not recognise an engine, never driven before.I have been grateful for lifts, I am not against drivers nor ice cream vans. I am worried the goverment is subsidising diesel generator plants. I think instead it should be subsidising businesses towards cleaner energy where possible.
  8. Yeah right louisa, nearly 10,000 people die in London each year due to air pollution. Is Mr Whippy soley to blame, no, but he's part of the Problem. The goverment are subsidising diesel generator plants as back up for national grid, When they should be looking at subsidising ice cream sellers to change to cleaner alternatives. Yes theres a sentimental history, i looked forward To hearing the chimes in my youth , even though my family couldn't afford ice cream, broken wafers would be handed out free. Today its rip off prices, but heh lets just hold on to the good old days, and yes think about the children, cough cough. London pay for your pollution with a flake on top.
  9. You'd have thought solar would be better, I Googled. http://www.treehugger.com/culture/solar-powered-ice-cream-truck-transform-video.html There should be a move towards alternative energy through legislation.

    Poetry please

Wasn't Moab the land of the Pagans, Where Davids great grandmother ran to the Bethlehem barley field, To plant the food banks of tomorrow, The mother of all bread, A tiny seed, no massive ordnance air blast. Only a tiny seed laid as a mothers prayer is whispered to the earth, Feeding future souls.
  11. Unless this guy behaved in a way that was frightening, I don't get this. I can't understand how the police would even follow this up unless there is more to the story.
  12. Timpson outside Sainsburys DKH got a notice Saying, anyone unemployed needing anything Dry cleaned fo an interview, they'll do it free. Good on them.
  13. Jaywalker When the truth is uncovered, it often isn't such a shock, whether you're directly involvdd or not, you may instinctively have a feel to expect it not to be as it appears. Where there has been a loss of a loved one and it is a political situation, no one will know that person lost, more than you, there innocence, there beliefs. Mosul souls in a living nighmare, WHILE Amnesty international says US not protecting civilians. US coalition, was RAF involved. Of course to suggest that you can understand the anger that could come from the pain caused, is becoming almost like a crime in itself in this country especially for people who have moved from there.
  14. Agree Lordship, tolerance is hand in hand with feeling and wanting to understand others, without fear it will shake our own being. This thread is about actions that should not be tolerated, but without understanding of the pain, which often causes intolerable situations, it will only be as simple as good or bad, right or wrong for some.
  15. Lordship 516, I hope for peace to continue and hope you and all those who suffered through these times, find peace.
  16. There's always room to learn from personal history. This thread came from the MM thread. Political history, has often been years of trying to find truths while the ordinary people whos lives have been destroyed wewe submerged as victims or casualties. Its important to know that the truth is often hidden, and its admirable people do not let the past lie, for much would still be hidden.

  18. When governments believe they can separate themselves from behaviour they condemn and see as terrorism. There is denial to see the terror they cause. Whereas some terror groups will claim atrocities they were not involved with. Many people do not expect that behaviour from government but as history has shown, denial distorts. Plastic pain (1983) You've panicked the people with all of your lies, Now, you say there's no need for alarm, Out on the streets they are dying When you said they would come to no harm. You've shot with your bullets of rubber, Killing innocent people going by, You say you will fight, to do what is right, Condemning the people who try. plastic protection is not what we need, You're outraged by voilence you say, So why are you holding your guns now, Why deny its your way.
  19. I think you can rationalise past experiences, when you've been faced with experiences that has made it difficult to cope with every day things. Over time you can believe and feel its been put in its place, where it makes sense to let it go, even forget. As time goes by, sometimes years, the past may come back to you unexpectantly. It may hit you hard especially if much time was taken to remove bad feelings. Some times you've got to recover the past to look again at recovering from it.
  20. http://www.airqualitynews.com/2016/10/26/waste-incinerator-emissions-study-pushed-2017/ I'm more concerned about waste emissions from Incinerators. Link above.
