  1. There's the HesFes coming up, last week in July, link below. Know its not a local thing but good for meeting up with lots of people who have chosen to home educate. http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/hesfes/2011/
  2. I would be careful of giving this drug for more than 3 days, regardless of the reason for giving it. It states on link below it should not be given any longer, I think you have to be careful because of the affect it can have on the stomach. Maybe putting a pillow under the mattress will help him breath, hope he gets better soon. http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100004891.html
  3. Its the "until further notice" that worries me.
  4. Barbara Harris is part of Project Prevention, she has been paying drug addict in America to agree to be sterilized. Last year Alan Mitchell, a british citizen also a drug addict, was paid to have a vasectomy. PP has come to the UK, (link) There has been conflicting info from this website and from Barbara Harris. It may not be compulsary but I believe it is a step in that direction. http://www.projectprevention.org/united-kingdom/
  5. My dad used to roll a special little single skinner for his journey to work by tube, he spotted a guy smoking a pipe so sat next to him thinking it would hide the smell of his rollie substance. As the journey went on he felt everyone looking, thought about putting it out, avoided staring directly at anyone, but hoped in his paranoia the guy with the pipe would get the blame. It wasnt till he was getting off that he realised he was sitting next to Tony Benn.
  6. Poor you, I know geranium mixed with a base (almond oil, etc) found link below, cant find what oils are used, and don't know the product, but gotta be better than surgery. http://www.forces-of-nature.org/hemorrhoids/hemorrhoids+treatment+remedy.htm
  7. Administrator, Can you tell me why you did not remove my earlier posts when I first asked James about this issue, I find this very confusing. I removed the link which was put up to show James how conflicting the info was, but still you are refusing to let me ask James in my own words. I take it you do not believe the school issue is an election issue.
  8. Sorry about that, I suppose everything can be seen as an election issue, but that was not why I asked. Hi James, There seems to be conflicting information about empty houses in Southwark, but can you explain why the audit commisions report put Southwark Council as the second worse borough in London, highlighting especially the housing problems.
  9. Administrator Why do you keep removing my post, I am replying to James on an earlier subject.
  10. Hi james, Can you click on the link below, which gives a very differnt account to yours regarding empty council houses. Is this information false below? if so, why were Southwark Council given a red flag from the Audit Commision, Southwark now being the second worse borough in London. http://www.southwarklabour.co.uk/7267fa84-6829-4114-9dc4-d6cbae4015f4
  11. Please click link believe which gives a very different story to the answer you gave me about empty houses. Is this information below false, if so can you explain why the audit commision gave Southwark council a red flag, making it the second worst borough in London. Thanks http://www.southwarklabour.co.uk/7267fa84-6829-4114-9dc4-d6cbae4015f4 what am I like, forgot to put the link.
  12. James; Please click link below, where it gives a very different account on the housing situation. Is this information false, why was Southwark council given a red flag by the audit commision. http://www.southwarklabour.co.uk/7267fa84-6829-4114-9dc4-d6cbae4015f4 Sorry wrong thread
  13. according to the Audit Commission?s annual inspection. Southwark had the joint second worst inspection report in London. The council?s failure to improve council housing and a sharp deterioration in its social care services were singled-out in the report for particular criticism. Southwark is one of only two councils in London to receive a ?red flag? for its housing services, which means that housing problems are ?not being tackled adequateley" In the weekly mag for bidding, there is a page telling you last weeks places, what band and length of time on waiting list, very depressing for those living in unbearable situations.
  14. As Mercury Rev sings, Holes, dug by little moles, angry jealous spies, got telephones for eyes. Keep digging Reggie, one more hole, surely.
  15. Alice, You should have a look at you own tone, what holes? You may have been lucky enough to ask mummy to take you back, but not everyone is in that situation. In fact, I've met many young people who cannot live at home and struggle on EMA. They can claim benefits if involved with social services but many do not want to go down that route. I seriously think a lot of people posting here have led very diffrent lives and there eyes are shut to how the other half live.
  16. Yes Helena it is a serious question, I agree, from the help recieved by people like yourself to the inhumane conditions of detention centres, a criteria is somehow put in place. You know nothing of the GGS backgrounds but seem to have made a very stereotypical judgement, and set some imaginary criteria for the GGS.
  17. Helena, How would you feel if it was refugees squattin the house, would that be okay then.
  18. Hi James, I don't understand what you mean by "slightly over the target for re letting them", are people being moved into council properties before they are habitable? I find it strange that you can give a figure on empty private properties but do know know the number of council houses. Are you saying there are no council houses apart from the ones you mentioned above, lying empty for more than 37 days?
  19. Hi James, I was wondering if you knew how many council houses lie empty in Southwark. I noticed on another thread you mentioned about empty private houses and how the council have got involved. I can find nothing in Southwarks website. Thanks
  20. J Barber, Can you tell me how many council houses lie empty, and what is being done about them?
  21. Thanks Sharon. My cousin left the next day travelling, we didn't even think of the police, but I'll give them a ring.
  22. Been down to shop again to put up card offering ?50 reward, my cousin is travelling abroad tomorrow, and feels he would be at a disadvantage without it.
  23. My cousin is here on holiday and lost his Ipod touch, we went to the Prime Time web cafe/DVD rental store on Lordship Lane at 5.00pm. We were approximately in there for 10 minutes, the last time he remembers using it was while in the store, so we presume it was dropped around the store and that particular vacinity of Lordship Lane. He would be forever grateful if this has been found or maybe handed in. Thanks
