  1. I?ve kind of confused myself too Declan. I?ve re-read your post and what I thought you said is not what you actually said, if you see what I?m saying. You were actually qualifying you position in your second two sentences rather than asking question. Apologies for the confusion.
  2. If the United Kingdom (This great union of non-homogenous, feudal states) decided to take the stance to not participate in the European Union at all I would respect that and also find it admirable. Stupid on some levels maybe but still admirable. But if we are going to participate to the mutual benefit of ourselves and the countries we share this continent with we should do so in good faith and use our elected officials influence the European Parliament. The belligerent stance based solely on un-thought out notions of nationalism is not only rude and un-neighbourly but unedifying and arrogant from a country that compared to a lot of the other members states, has very little to be arrogant about.

  4. On the biblical point. Interpretation of the bible is not even uniform within specific churches let alone between the vast array of different belief structures that hang their faith on it. It is true to say that Christianity in general works on the premise that people are granted the grace to enter heaven due to Christ?s sacrifice and that all they have to do is accept this. But there are always conditions to this. These conditions depend on which sect you fall into and can be anything from, ?Just so long as you don?t murder people on a regular basis? or ?Just so long as if you are gay you spend your entire life denying your true sexuality.? to ?just so long as you kill for our cause and visit the witchdoctor who will give you a magic potion made from human body parts.?

  6. Declan your post reflects the point I have made twice in recent posts, that in order to explore the question of god you have disregard the concept of god. You still seem to be hanging onto the concept of a belief structure and rather asking question about the nature of religion than the human experience of the universes. But does anyone ever listen to me? No Brendan they don?t do they and wouldn?t the world be oh so much of a better place if they did? Oh look a squirrel.

  8. Sure you did Petunia.
  9. Sure you did Petunia.
  10. The way I see it is you can?t expect the economic benefits of being part of the EU without accepting the political responsibility. Seems Britain thinks it can though. We?re British don?t you know.
  11. But we?re British don?t you know. This Europe business is nonsense. We single handedly won 2 world wars. That?s Britain against the rest of the world in case you?re wondering. What can this Europe guff possibly mean to us? Pah!
  12. Nah that's just Quids.
  13. Wel just coz you don't know.
  14. Double Dragon. Of course you have to finish the entire game first as a team before you get the chance to fight each other. Clamquiche?
  15. It was just a dogberryism used to give the suggestion of mass fisticuffs an edge of feminine and Latin flare. Codpiece?
  16. Well I?ll be in the pub tonight and I?ll fight you all. Caprice?
  17. Apologies PR. I don?t mean to sound like such an arse. I just get frustrated as the question is so much bigger than the little/repetitive/predictable arguments that crop up all the time.
  18. Sorry to seem facetious but ?There is a god he lives in church/There isn?t a god it?s nonsense? is a question most five year olds are capable of and normally have grappled with.
  19. Not that you don?t also have a need to have strongly routed beliefs eh?
  20. Why, do they have the answer? As we would all like to know. In fact it will probably get them a slot on Oprah.
  21. Typical, coming from a member of the There is a Clique, Clique.
  22. Anyway, so is there a god or not?
  23. silverfox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > As I understand it, BBW (and possibly TLS) said > some unacceptable things to a handful of > individuals. Not really. It depends how you view free speech. But in our Western view saying: ?If I'm a control freak and need to find meaning in everything where will I find it?.... GOD.? Is the same as saying, ?Those of don?t accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour will burn for eternity in the bowels of hell.? They are both unpleasant things to say and expose some sort of intent in the speaker to assert a superior viewpoint over their audience. They are both, however within the boundaries of acceptable speech. This however: ?Your fuck of a fuck in my fuck so fuck fuck and it fuck killed with fuck fuck like you deserve you fuck up the fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck etc?? ? is the sort of thing that gets people banned and is not acceptable, especially not on a public forum. .
  24. Isn't Sentience Boy some sort of Emo pop-group?
