Surely these people are just the fringe of idiocy. Rejects from Jerry Springer audiences perhaps? The man is a Christian from Hawaii. His father is from Kenya. This probably doesn?t even make him ?African American? whatever that means. But an Arab? I don?t? get it. I?m thinking that the average American is clever enough to know that Kenya and the Arabian Peninsular are not the same place or even on the same continent. I also reckon they probably aren?t clever enough to be making tenuous links based on historical Arab influence in East Africa through places like Zanzibar from the Middle Ages and before. So where are they getting this shit?

Island makes sense though. It is an island in the middle of the road. Where I grew up a roundabout is one of those things with the painted horse on it at a fairground. But then we call traffic lights, robots so go figure.

The last time the electorate in the country tried to have a say there were mass demonstrations and huge amounts of public pressure making it pretty clear that all except the blind, idiotic or just plain blood hungry didn?t want this country to get involved in a pointless and immoral war. And now what, legislation that was hugely criticised but forced through by the elected government, under the proviso that it was for anti-terror reasons and wouldn?t be abused, has just been used to seize private assets.

I have heard of a group based in Liverpool called Philosophy in Pubs. The idea sounded pretty interesting. I?m not sure what level of knowledge you need. I imagine it?s based on Western analytical philosophy and you get an argument to test, apply your own thought to it and then you all get together, get drunk and have a big fight about it. Kinda like a book club but interesting. I?m not sure if they operate in London but then I?m not averse to steeling people?s ideas and passing them off as my own.
