  1. I was just playing devil?s advocate. Personally I would have neither. I?m not too bothered about the idea of caf? Nero. I just don?t like the look of the place. It looks like it belongs in an American shopping mall.

    a joke

George Bush is listening to his daily briefing. It concludes with the news that "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed." "OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!" His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands. Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

    a joke

I was talking about all this: ?No Declan I shan't. I will only make things worse ? ?What happened in those missing 4 minutes?? and ?Well I posted twice. Had a cuppa and then decided that I wouldnt be drawn into a big controversial debate. Simple really ? business I just don?t get it.
  4. You mean we can?t just pursue our own selfish ends and use the law and peoples' perception of it as tools to manipulate situations and get our own way? I was under the impression that this was how the world works as it is how all our hallowed institutions of government and commerce operate. Surely we must follow their lead. They are after all what have made this country great.

Anyone else found these last 4 jokes a little too abstract? ???.perch sandwich
  6. What if you actually had it in the shop then? Would that still be an offence because it had to travel over the pavement to get there?
  7. ?Listen Piers I know it?s uncomfortable and I promise next year we?ll get some professional entertainment for the forum Christmas party.?
  8. West Dulwich? Surely they mean West East Dulwich.
  9. *Wipes finger across Olivia?s portrait and gives it a lick* This is sherbet jah. Did you buy it from that gingerbread man in the purple undies who has been hanging around outside White Stuff? Cutting into their trade no doubt.
  10. *Muses: Perhaps this is what Coleridge had in mind?*
  11. *Receives drinks gratefully and does a little (I'm glad it's the weekend) jig* It seems to be snowing in here? *Catches snowflakes on a framed portrait of Olivia Newton John*
  12. *Fades in* *Existentialy distressed after an afternoon reading Kubla Kahn while the office emptied around me* There must be something more to this poets day business.
  13. Sorry just re-read this and realised that my earlier post was supposed to read: ?Why is it not appealing??
  14. I thought the proposed Western branch of the East London Line extension wasn't going to be built any more.
  15. Great. Now I'm craving a packet of Starburst.
  16. Is it dog friendly though?

    Great Gigs

Shu.Kurimu.Sensei Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Brendan you spoony bard! Klaxons eh? Do tell what > it was like cos they are bloody amazing! :)) The Klaxons were ok. As is quite often the case they had a few good songs, then a few ?radio friendly? songs that everyone was most familiar with (these didn?t count amongst the good ones though) and then a lot of filler. They took themselves a bit too seriously for my liking. Their sound is like Trent Reznor being raped by the girls from Abba. So was the show I suppose. i.e. Worth seeing but not exactly pleasant all the way through. I must say that I have never been to a gig before where the crowd was made up of such a bunch of rude, arrogant, hoorah henry, ?London? dicks. (You know the type) But then I am used to punk and metal shows where everyone may look weird but they are normally kinda nice to each other. I didn?t go to the after party with Lilly Whinehouse. I gave the ticket to someone who would appreciate it more. Is it just me or am I becoming a cantankerous old bugger?
  18. What? Tied up outside the cafe on Peckham Rye?
  19. SimonM Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I sort of assumed the regeneration power was no > good in a nuclear explosion? No because in the last episode the Patrellis? mother says to Clare that Peter will survive because of the power he got from Clare. Then she freaked out and jumped out the window.
  20. Overly excitable things that like playing in mud and are best kept on a lead.

I'm going to see the Klaxons tonight. We?ve also got tickets for some after party where Lilly Allen is DJing. I don?t really know very much about either of them, my suspicion is that if they were any good my radar would have clocked them already. Either that or I?m just getting old.
  22. Barry Road is a good location in East Dulwich. It is only a short 5min walk from Lordship Lane but far enough away to feel a bit more suburban. The road is very busy though.
  23. What? The People?s Front of Judea?
