  1. It would be interesting to know who would be held liable, the person posting or the administrators of the website. I am not familiar with the law in regard to internet forums. I wonder if any precedent has been established as to how much accountability the administrators of sight have for the content posted by random people. Sorry, a bit off topic there.
  2. I have only been to the Vale once or twice and then during the day so I don't know what it is like at night. I have also not been there for about 2 years so I don't think I could pass any kind of informed judgement on the place. The bouncers turned my mates and I away one night though. Something about being too drunk?!?!? Obviously absolute rubbish!
  3. Got a point there FnB. I for one quite like the Bishop during the day but avoid it on Friday and Saturday nights.
  4. Sorry Citizen. I was quoting you, quoting someone else you see. :-S I am actually a journalist of sorts so I have a kind of moral duty to misquote people every now and again. ;-)
  5. If they ban sex in pubs I'm leaving the country.
  6. Is it just me or does LL look like it was wider back in the olden days?
  7. I went into the Dulwich Woodhouse yesterday and without the usual smoke fug the front room smelt a bit like a rag that has been soaked in beer and then left for a few days. You get used to it after a while though.
  8. My building in Westminster has already been evacuated once today because of a suspect package.
  9. Nothing wrong with flat-caps and carnation button holes. Although I have opted for a fedora today.
  10. Sounds highly unlikely to me. Southwark Council would never have allowed it for one, 240 000 soldiers tramping through the flower beds? I think not. Anyway as a tactical matter you wouldn?t position your army somewhere where they were open to numerous attacks from un-disciplined staffies running about off their leads.
  11. I don't know if there are any. I was just speaking from expereince of when I ran the bar for a resturant owned by a Greek family who all worked there. I was the only non-family employee. They felt that all the money coming in belonged to all of them and the dad would divvy it out at the end of the month.
  12. Great idea there! As an ex-waiter I will be happy to contribute and let the resturants in know about it. Although what about family run establishments where all monies are seen as belonging collectively to the family?
  13. There have been recent theories about neandertals interbreeding with our closer ancestors. Most of them stem from the discovery of a human femur that looked rather big and could possibly have come from a hybrid. I thought that these were discredited however when they (the men in white coats they) managed to map neandertal DNA and proved that they were a seperate species who could not have interbred with us. I may be completely wrong about this though as I am a hack and not a scientist. That aside I do have a thing for red heads. ;-)

Has Tralee's photographer in residence not yet bought himself a colour camera?
  17. Well DulwichMum. My mother is Irish so I assume I have about half of her genes and I am sure that to have produced offspring as devastatingly handsome as me there would have to have been pretty genes coming from both parents.
  18. Isn't there a sewer/undergound river under the roundabout?
  19. Hmm Interesting DM. Personally I would like to be burnt on a huge pyre at sunset while four-score naked maidens dance around and drench the thousands strong crowd of gathered grievers/revelers with various alcoholic spirits squirted from those big super-soaker water pistols thingies. But each to their own I suppose. Anyway staying on topic here. I have been following this thread closely and waiting for ED?s answer to Sagan and Hawkins to sus the true nature of the universe so that I can print it on bumper stickers and make millions.
  20. She?s actually a darling mine. She comes to pick me up from the pub in the car when it?s raining and buys me pizza on the way home. (tu)
  21. Snuff. That's the answer. Abnormally for my generation it is a type of tobacco I am quiet familiar with. My first experience with the stuff was when I was about 10 and an old Zulu gentleman who was the groundsman at the school my dad taught at gave me a pinch from his silver snuff box. My head nearly exploded, much to his and my father?s amusement. This was back in the ?80s when tobacco was still good for you, you understand. Anyway if I can no longer look suave and debonair with my roll-up sticking out the corner of my mouth people are just going to have to get used to me sneezing loudly with brown stuff dribbling out my nose.
  22. Yeah I only read the first couple of lines to be honest.
  23. The plague was caused by a bateria according to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yersinia_pestis But then again wikipedia also once told me that beer had no adverse affects what so ever. Which considering some of my past relationships is a complete lie.
  24. Well it has hapened in ED and I think it would be prudent for us to keep our eyes open for the next while and stay in touch with the police to keep up with any developments.
  25. Yeah I only smoke in the pub. Which means I probably smoke about 4 nights of the week. I am going to miss it but I realise that it is for the best in the long run (ho hum).:'( If the bloody sun would come out and allow outside drinking it might ease the pain a bit.
