Schonrock kids and unchaperoned "school run"
Brendan replied to Alex K's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I don?t remember feeling patronised by the intrinsic prejudices within our society when I was 5 years old. I do now but not then. I mostly remember sandpits and dipping biscuits into orange squash. -

Schonrock kids and unchaperoned "school run"

?Off topic? Why the use of liberal as a deprecating term? Why should a term, which essentially means that an individual puts the greater good of society and the acceptance of others over and above their own personal needs, wants and prejudices, be pejorative? Just asking, because I?ve found myself using it as such once or twice and then had a think about why. I also wondered, perhaps with a not unjustified hint of paranoia, who has been encouraging its use as such and why. When you consider it properly if you aren?t ?liberal? you are just a self serving, intolerant, antisocial cunt. Which granted is what a large portion of the population are but does that mean we should let them gain credence by allowing the very term which refers an opposing stance of common decency towards your fellow man to become a slur? -

Which hat are you going to be wanting? Only I?ve just got a few and I?m pretty attached to the tweed flat cap, the canvas cricket hat is useful for days out in the sun, the grey fedora goes very well with my grey slim fit 3 piece and the Powell Peralta ?ripper? 1980s reissue mesh-back baseball cap is, well it's a, Powell Peralta ?ripper? 1980s reissue mesh-back baseball cap so you?re not getting your hands on that. Not no fucking ways china.

Fuck I wondered what that was all about.

I remember looking at this a while ago: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Income_in_the_United_Kingdom#Taxable_Income I?m not going to do the sums now but if I remember correctly from the table even though the mean average income (in 2005) was ?22K more than half the population actually earn under ?20K. So you average man on the street actually earns less than the average wage. -

That?s precisely one of the implications I was considering with my earlier question about HB being used to pay private rents. -

Well you know, jumpers for goal post etc. In the case of such teams the job will be done by volunteers from the local British Legion or failing that Scout Troop, using a tranquilizer gun borrowed from the RSPCA. The judging of who gets shot will be done by a committee from the WI as they are probably the only ones bloody minded enough for the job. -

Oh that won?t matter as they are no longer in the game. Their presence on the field is just an extra challenge and little incentive to the remaining players. If they are capable they will of course be allowed to claw their way to the side lines where their manager can deal with them as they see fit. -

If housing in a country is so prohibitively expensive that vast swathes of the population have to rely on government money to afford it is it in anyway justifiable that the government money should be paying for private rents? -

Who said anything about stretchers? They will be left where they fall until full time. -

And immediately shoot any player faking an injury, faking having been shot or complaining about being shot at. -
Is that in the spirit of the thread as more than likely it isn?t made up?

This is a rule hammered out by one Mister MockneyPiers and myself after much deliberation during a particularly boring FSA Trophy Finale. The aim of the rule is to do away with stagnant, boring matches and force a result in most games without the need for penalties. The proposal is this: There will be a team of officials who asses the performance of each player during the game. They will decide who the 4 worst players on the pitch are at any one time. The players, ref and spectators will not know who is on the list. There will be a military trained sniper installed in a roost in the grandstands. They will be armed with live ammunition or tranquilizer darts depending on the level of the game and the laws of the country it is being played in. At the 75th minute the sniper will be instructed to shoot the player who is rated the worst. The same will happen at the 80th, 85th and 90th minutes.

I?ve not thought much about this either yet. Surely 24hr drinking was brought about by scraping a law rather than putting a new one in place? I?m not sure if they?re asking if we want laws brought back. Fox hunting I?m ambivalent. I?ve hunted myself a bit and don?t really enjoy killing things but if other people want to that?s up to them. Killing animals is after all an intrinsic part of being human. What type of hunting a society allows and what they deem as cruel or not is up to that society. So in my mind an issue like fox hunting should be decided upon by a consensus of the people. The CRB check thing is nonsense and should be scrapped. I know a lot of people who work in healthcare and education and they have almost all been hampered in some way by the unnecessary bureaucracy. I think the government already has plans to scale it back though. Sometime in the last 15 years the law that said that any car over 25 years old was tax exempt was change to only apply to cars built in 1973 or before. I wouldn?t mind seeing the back of that.

Competitive interschool leagues for sports. Oh and schools with playing fields to play sports on. Or continue to be beaten by everyone at everything all the time. And perhaps an act of parliament committing to produce more sportsfolk and fewer annoying tabloid journalist and whiny pundits.
