  1. I went to Sainsbury's Local instead this afternoon. No queuing system outside, but a long queue for the tills.
  2. As far as I know, all the SE postcodes are sorted at the Croydon Mail Centre. Peckham will collect the mail for dispatch to Croydon and then they send the mail back to Peckham for the postal workers to sort and deliver locally. I don't know of all the other London mail centres, but West London mail is sorted at the Jubilee Mail Centre in Hounslow for example.
  3. There's a sign up on the window, but as I was on the bus, I couldn't see what time it closes. I think it says either 2.30 or 3.30 on Christmas Eve?
  4. I've had no issues contacting Cllr Andy Simmonds in College Ward. I've even called him at 8.50am on his work mobile and he answered!

I witnessed six police cars, at least three on bikes and a van to pick up the suspect. The bike which may have been stolen was taken away by the police as well.
  6. It appeared that the police were chasing a young man on a bike, who was arrested by Glennie Court.
  7. On the news tonight.
  8. I've had post delivered normally for the last couple of weeks now. I'm making the most of it before the Christmas rush.
  9. For the first time in two months, Private Eye has arrived on time.
  10. Sainsbury's Local was fine when I popped in at 3pm. Plenty of stock.
  11. No post for me on Sunday, but have a week's worth of post just delivered.
  12. ISP routers are usually awful, but BT, Sky and TalkTalk have all introduced new routers that are a lot better.
  13. Nothing on time this week. Had one delivery of delayed post including a letter posted on the 8th informing me that I need to stay in for a gas safety check on Monday.
  14. The waiting room at 306 appears to be only used for appointments with the nurse. When I went recently, they only had two chairs!
  15. While the last Private Eye never arrived, the latest edition arrived one day late.
  16. Also worth noting that from this weekend, Odeon cinemas will only open on Fri, Sat and Sunday from this weekend.
  17. It's not just ED suffering postal issues, the good people of Crystal Palace have also had delayed deliveries. https://www.mylondon.news/news/south-london-news/royal-mail-slammed-post-south-19061331?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar
  18. Cineworld and Picturehouse are losing more money by keeping them open for the few people who are coming in to watch classic films than to close. It 'should' save their business to keep it closed for now, but the fear is that the studios will move to the streaming model where they can charge more than a cinema to the customer direct to watch on their tv.
  19. You're on the border of the Dulwich and Brixton Openreach exchanges, If your telephone number is 020 7, it's certainly Brixton, 020 8 is Dulwich. If you're using ADSL2+ which is copper broadband, it's going to be slow regardless as copper broadband loses speed the further away you are from the exchange. If you're on fibre (VDSL), you should be getting faster speeds as they have fibre cabinets which are closer to your home. For example residents on the East Dulwich Estate have 3MB on copper, but they get over 60MB download using fibre.
  20. Two weeks later and my remaining parcels have arrived. Still no Private Eye.
  21. Using Oyster or Contactless is ?2.60 off-peak, ?3.10 peak. A paper ticket is ?6.70 return.
  22. The bus lane sign on LL just before Overhill Road has had it changed to "At All Times" for the section of bus lane between Overhill Road and Melford Road, which is Southwark managed. (Melford Road to Wood Vale is TfL).
  23. I don't know what hold Amazon have over the Royal Mail, but a package sent by them via the post which was posted on yesterday arrived today along with a magazine. A pack of razors which were posted also using Royal Mail 24 ten days ago still haven't arrived, nor Private Eye, which I ended up picking up in Sainsbury's.

My mother had a telephone appointment with a locum on Tuesday from 306 and explained everything clearly to her. I've had appointments with Dr Chowdhery's nephew and again he was clear and concise.
  25. Today I received post from last Thursday, so it looks like they've still got a week's backlog to clear.
