The closer to the exchange and the fibre cabinet you are, there's a better chance of getting faster speeds if you use the Openreach Network. I live between the exchange and the fibre cabinet on LL opposite Melford Road, so you can imagine that I get a rock solid service from TalkTalk. Some people who live on or around Dog Kennel Hill are on the Brixton exchange on the furthest point of which they serve customers, so they get really bad speeds, especially on the old copper ADSL connections. Those who live on the south side of Peckham Rye Common are on the Dulwich Exchange, while those on the north side are on the New Cross exchange, which is just off St. Mary's Road in Peckham where they're more likely to get faster speeds.
  2. Worth noting that the GP surgery is on the first floor of the Tessa Jowell Health Centre. Like Dulwich Hospital, there were different services inside the building. I used the blood test area on the ground floor last week and received the same amount of excellent care as at Dulwich Hospital.
  3. Private Eye arrived on time today. I've had post three days in a row so far. Talking about magazine subs, Private Eye is now offering a ?9.99 tier for 6 issues since the lockdown, while my PC mags are offering us free access to the digital version to ensure readers have an opportunity to read them on time.
  4. 10 min wait at 2.40pm this afternoon, when I left at 3.10, you could walk in.
  5. Masks I ordered took two weeks to get from Southall to SE22, this despite being sent on 48 hour delivery. Another letter was posted on June 18th from New Cross. It appears some letters are getting priority, such as magazines which are slightly faster than standard mail or packages.
  6. Pugwash Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Went about 3 pm on Tuesday - no queue - came out > around 4 ish still no queue You were lucky, I was in a queue at 2.30 on Tuesday which was a 10 min wait. I walked straight in on Thursday afternoon at 2.45.
  7. I'm starting to get post that was posted this week. Private Eye arrived on Thursday (normally Wednesday under normal circumstances). Still waiting for a pack of masks which were posted last week.
  8. 8 days for a letter posted in Sydenham arrived yesterday. Yet a magazine posted from Peterborough took 4 days.

  10. Markets have been allowed to reopen since early June.
  11. I can't see the counters returning until we've reached the level of total normality, which is some way off yet. Monday is about non-essential businesses being allowed to open with strict social distancing guidelines, so expect more of the same queues we've seen outside supermarkets and pharmacies outside the likes of Primark.
  12. The free bus passes for children was a Red Ken pledge which was kept by Boris surprisingly and then Sadiq until the cuts were imposed by the government. Local authorities are required by law to provide free travel to school age children for up to three miles from home to school, which will put another dent into Southwark's budget which will replace the current TfL funded passes.
  13. The P13 is currently running an enhanced service of every 12 minutes instead of every 15 until 7pm on weekdays, this is to ensure there's enough capacity for social distancing. I was on the P13 and the most there was on there was four passengers.
  14. No queues at DKH or Morrisons in Peckham this afternoon.
  15. I finally got my parcel today. A week to travel from NW10 to SE22 despite being posted first class.
  16. bob Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 2.15 queues out to all most dog Bob S It looks like the pattern is quieter during the week to the point where if you're lucky you can walk straight in or at weekends, you've very likely to be standing on Edgar Kail Way. This is why I've stopped using DKH at weekends and use the Forest Hill store or the Local on LL which are much easier to get into.

  18. I've received post this week on Wednesday and today, yet still waiting for a parcel sent on Monday.
  19. I had post yesterday, but still waiting for Private Eye.
  20. Walked straight in at 2.45 at DKH. No queue at 3pm.
  21. A couple of points: TfL will inform passengers when the Freedom Pass is restricted. It isn't yet, so can still be used as now during the morning peak on TfL modes only (Buses, London Overground, tube, DLR and TfL Rail), then on National Rail services from 0930. There's legislation in place where TfL can't ban evening peak travel with the pass. This would lead to otherwise pensioners outside London would be allowed to ride buses while locals would pay fares. The Freedom Pass offers more to London pensioners than those outside London where passes are restricted to 0930-2300 on weekdays, some councils offer discounted or free rail travel within their local area, but otherwise it's a poorer deal than we get.

Sod those who work shifts which mean they can't have the stereotypical middle class ED life where they can get up and do things around the house before 8am. All she's asking for is consideration when doing activities during the day.

  25. The fact they're letting in 10 at a time really is helping. When I queued at 12.40 today, the queue was just past the cashpoints. When I left at 1pm, it was starting to stretch around the back of the car park.
