  1. All fibre broadband providers that use the Openreach network buy their fibre broadband wholesale from BT. The main difference is in price. Speed will depend on where you live to the exchange on LL. I'm on TalkTalk, but live next to the exchange, so get 75mb download on TalkTalk. This I'd expect to the be the same if I switched to BT, Sky etc. If you plan to buy copper broadband, some providers have what is known as LLU, local-loop unbundling where they can provide their own service, which may be faster than BT. TalkTalk and Vodafone have this at the Dulwich exchange.

The Rye Lane traders can apply for compensation for loss of earnings from the gas company doing the works, but that appears to be all. Southwark Council should really be pressing TfL for space for an temporary bus stop close to Peckham Rye station as possible in the northbound direction or at least giving drivers advice to direct passengers to the train station at the Nigel Road bus stop.
  3. It could be argued that Rye Lane is totally unsuitable for 54 buses per hour when the shops are open and delivery tricks are blocking the road, yet they won't put a temporary bus stop on Copeland Road. Complete nonsense.

If I can't use Forest Hill, I'll go to Denmark Hill instead to get back to ED, where the bus stop is next to the station entrance.
  5. Well since the festive period has finished, I've seen two posties sorting out mail outside Sogim's on Lordship Lane and today, another postie who clearly has never done a round in ED before zig zagging delivering post today.
  6. I'm surprised during the planning of these works that the temporary bus stop on Copeland Road on the junction of Bournemouth Road for Peckham Rye station wasn't added, as during previous closures of Rye Lane. For the moment, getting off at the Nigel Road stop and walking down Rye Lane is the only realistic option.
  7. The only realistic option for the Victoria line is to run it as a loop service to Herne Hill and back to Brixton. It's worth noting that there are delays in getting new Overground stock onto the lines that are getting them, alas the current stock is still in use on the Watford line, so no extension of the current Clapham/Crystal Palace services which really need to be up to six trains per hour.
  8. We had a postal survey in Dulwich Wood Ward before Christmas from the Labour team.
  9. Apparently the Hamlet added an extra 101 spaces for fans, but fans were still turned away when I went past at 3.15.
  10. Great to hear the noise from the stadium this afternoon while coming out of Sainsbury's.
  11. Hamlet in the news again, on ITV this afternoon.
  12. I've had post this week on Monday, Friday and Saturday. But nowhere as many Christmas cards as usual.
  13. Here's the report in full, recorded from ITV.
  14. Now this is strange, I got a Christmas card today posted yesterday from Guernsey, yet nothing locally!

Rat Records on Camberwell New Road may have some new releases.

Ideally Lloyds would move down from North Cross Road to the Londis site. It's a well used chemist and tons better than Sogim where I went once and was told that the pharmacist was off.
  19. I've had no post since Monday. There's Christmas cards that haven't arrived yet and I'm still travelling to central London to collect foreign magazines instead of the postal sub.
  20. I live on part of the resurfaced road and didn't get any letters.

Nor between Barry Road and just before Friern Road. There's also a section between Melford Road and Dulwich Common owned by TfL which hasn't been done either.

  23. Wouldn't it be great if Royal Mail gave us some of that ?7m from the sale of the Silvester Road sorting office as compensation for the less than 2nd Class service SE22 residents now receive?

In any case, it appears the final part of the resurfacing is going to be overnight work, which will allow buses to run along LL during daytime hours instead on Friday and Saturday.
  25. There are cones and no parking signs at the Goose Green end of LL in preparation for work, so I don't think today will be the last day of the diversion.
