Profit before practicality.
  2. I would have thought the most immediate action is for the Royal Mail to hire three more postmen for the SE22 postcode area. Even if it means hiring agency workers in the interim.

  4. A slight 'improvement' in the post today, only a whopping four days for first class mail to reach me!
  5. Thanks to the continuing mail farce, I've had to cancel a magazine subscription and travel up to Charlotte Street to buy a foreign magazine.

I didn't find out that information. But as an aside, today I received a package from Madrid using FedEx which was sent yesterday faster than it takes the Royal Mail to deliver post from Kent to ED.
  7. I've been told unofficially that they're three postmen down.
  8. There's certainly issues with normal deliveries during this transfer period. I received mail posted on 11th September at 7pm on Wednesday evening.

Ironically I find the traffic island on Dulwich Common by Firemans Alley safer than the main crossing at Cox's.

Put off by using that junction currently thanks to the currently dangerous junction which isn't suitable for crossing. I welcome it as it'll encourage more patronage of Cox's Walk and Sydenham Hill Wood. It'll also encourage pedestrians to use it instead of crossing Lordship Lane along the section where the shops are to reach the bus stop.
  11. Make sure to fill in the consultation.
  12. The Dulwich Village branch is still open for now until October 12th.
  13. TfL are consulting on improving the junction at Dulwich Common/Lordship Lane to make it safer for pedestrians and cyclists. Main points are: New traffic islands on Lordship Lane (by the Grove) and Dulwich Common at Cox's Walk. Signalled crossings for pedestrians. Cycle island on Lordship Lane. https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/roads/a205-dulwich-common-lordship-lane/
  14. The air cooling was excellent on the 176 and 185 on the upper deck today.
  15. They were evicted yes. A couple of weeks ago, a team of men cleared out part of the shop, leaving food outside which people were scavenging for
  16. One of the builders was in charge of the pedestrian crossing this afternoon. Had to manually control the lights, so people could cross the road.
  17. So that's how Barclays has keep the ED branch viable, close Dulwich Village and Forest Hill, so that those remaining customers have to use the new automated bank when it re-opens.

  20. DV was going to be the nearest to me after Forest Hill closes on Friday.

That's in SE21. The whole of the SE22 postcode is now served by one PO which itself was saved from becoming a tacky shop/PO combo.
  23. With the closure of Forest Hill Road, there are no longer any sub PO's left in the whole of SE22.
  24. It may be worth using Google or Apple Pay in the future for public transport as you get a virtual card number which card skimmers can't see.
