  1. Overground from Forest Hill or HOP to Whitechapel, then Hammersmith and City to KX.
  2. Seems to be the second person on EDF who has said they had to use the delivery office, as ed26 mentions, there are other options for returns. Once Amazon even booked a courier to return a package from my flat at 9am!
  3. The 176 is slower than ever. It takes at least 75/80 minutes to get to and from Tottenham Court Road to LL and that's off-peak! I've managed to cut it down around an hour by changing at the Elephant for the 1. The constant being held at bus stops to "regulate the service", changing drivers in Camberwell which seems to take an eternity, the 20mph speed limit and traffic in general hasn't helped.

Mentioned previously in this thread but hasn't got through to Royal Mail CS is that all redeliveries in SE22 are cancelled due to the massive backlog of ED post at the Peckham sorting office. As for online shopping, make sure they use another delivery service. Amazon is a safe bet as the vast majority of deliveries using their Prime service use Amazon Logistics here.
  6. I finally got my razor blades, posted on the 20th October and posted with 24 hour delivery 9 days after! Payslip also posted on Wednesday also arrived today along with bank statements posted on 19th October. A First Class service from the Royal Mail.
  7. Still no post here today. I saw postie with his trolley on the other side of the road though this afternoon.

No. I'm sure I saw a trolley left unoccupied earlier with letters hanging out of it on Goodrich Road today at the LL end.
  9. I've had no post at all this week. I'm expecting my regular delivery of subscription razor blades which were paid for on Saturday and still haven't turned up.
  10. ITV News report.

  12. I had a similar email from Helen yesterday.

That's a good idea actually for eBay stuff. Sainsbury's in Forest Hill also offer the service, but not DKH or the East Dulwich Local.
  14. My magazine ordered on Monday arrived on Thursday. An improvement of sorts, along with the postman delivering mail mid-morning again.
  15. The post is far from normal here. Still waiting for a magazine posted 1st class on Monday.
  16. Another thumbs-up for Citymapper. It accurately gives me connections using bus and train via Forest Hill as well as the bus options into town.
  17. The 40 would have a tiny advantage connection to Farringdon for Crossrail/Elizabeth line when it eventually opens, but to send a well used bus from ED to Clerkenwell Green where not much happens before then is a waste of resources.
  18. I've had no choice but to order a magazine from France via mail-order today. I dread to think when if ever it turns up. Luckily PayPal have a pay after delivery option, so not out of pocket...yet.
  19. Virgin Mobile piggy backs off the EE network. There are shared transmitters that EE and Three both use which is why all were down.
  20. Saw a postman on LL today who managed to drive in a red van, park up, get his trolley out while sorting out mail in the back of said van. It was never like this in the Silvester Road days.
  21. I had post this morning.... From a week ago.
  22. TfL are planning to keep a direct bus link between Elephant and Aldgate with the 343. It may be better if they swapped the plans for the 343 with the 40, so the 343 goes to Clerkenwell Green instead.
  23. JohnL Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I heard 171 might be losing a large part of the > route too (It's not really ED - but I use it) It's being curtailed to the Elephant.
  24. A consultation on major bus changes is happening from today. TfL plan to cut or reroute 34 bus routes in central London as cuts in funding start to bite. As part of the plans, they plan to reroute the 40 away from London Bridge, instead running along Blackfriars Road to Blackfriars and then to Clerkenwell Green. This would lead to ED no longer having a direct bus service to London Bridge, which is handy when the trains are down. Nearby changes also include extending the 343 to Aldgate, running via Tower Bridge after City Hall. 25. Speediest post to date yet today. Posted Monday, arrived today.
