To what extent can an asthma sufferer help?
wee quinnie posted a topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi all, Possible thick question, but bear with me. I have recently been diagnosed with asthma and am a 50 year old. I would like to help out with helping out vulnerable older people who need a bit of assistance in self isolation etc etc. BUT, because of the asthma, I really don't know whether I should be keeping my distance from everyone as much as possible. I can help with ringing people, and having a bit of a chat, but should I generally be keeping my head down? I don't have severe asthma. Thoughts? -
Hmm. I was down on Lordship Lane at around 3pm., it was like a Saturday afternoon. So I think people would just transfer the allegiances to local shops and strip those instead.

Hi all, My mum and auntie (in their 80s), are both in self isolation at present (separately), I have been phoning them a lot to support them, and to make sure they're ok for groceries and a chat, but they are both (unsurprisingly) thinking they are going to off their heads with boredom, with being confined to base. Any suggestions beyond reading and gardening?

There is a wee patch of green on Upland Rd., adjacent to Crebor street. Crying out for a sprinkle of wild flowers.

https://www.asnatureintended.uk.com/ One of these being built between the Co op and Chener books. Also it appears Sema Thai is being converted into a dessert and juice bar place. Sorry i know there is a thread about new businesses but i can't find it.

Garden collections (pre June)
wee quinnie replied to wee quinnie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Initially they were unlimited, but I have a memory of the rules changing, and a limit being set. -
What's the current amount of brown bags you are allowed to put out for collection? I realise change is imminent, so thought I would get a load of gardening done before the changeover. I have looked on the council website and cannot find this information. Thanks peeps.

Health check pharmacies Southwark ...where?
wee quinnie replied to wee quinnie's topic in The Lounge
I rang the one on north cross road. They don't do it, and couldn't offer any helpful info unfortunately. I was sent a leaflet a while ago, not many places do it, although i recall there were a few places in Peckham that do it. -
Does anyone know of any local pharmacies which carry out the NHS health check? My local gp service only does these on Thursdays, (the one day I can't do). I understand that some pharmacies do these, but i can't find the list of these, and my gp service don't seem to know either. The link on Southwark Councils website for this does not work!! Thanks in advance.

He uses the main bathroom in the house, and me and OH use our en suite. If i have visitors i direct them to the main bathroom. I have told him from the outset what i expect and have had to nudge him fairly constantly in the last 18 months. At one point he did say that hd would clean the loo daily UNPROMPTED. I am just sick of having to constantly ask him to clean it.
-
I have asked him to clean it on numerous occasions. He is a very nice chap, and seems to have the best of intentions, but it is just not clean enough. Also, in fairness to me, the rent i currently charge is well below the market rate. He has been living here 18 months and i am fed up with constantly reminding him. I am not his mum!! I would rather he just cleaned it himself rather than me ending up cleaning it for 10 to 14 quid.

My lodger is not keeping the bathroom as clean as I want, so I am looking to get a cleaner, however I doubt that I can get a cleaner in for an hour per week. SO...I am looking at cleaning the bathroom myself, and charging for cleaning on top of rent. So was wondering what people pay?

I haven't been to the docs for a while, so was wondering how easy it is to get an appointment these days. I have tried to get an online appointment, but that didn't seem to be working for me, so.... Am I right in thinking that the best way to get an appointment is to go down for opening time and ask at the desk, or if i try and ring to get an appointment, will they be able to give me an appointment?

Can anyone tell me where i might find a facility for recycling textiles (old household linens not in good enough nick for charity shop). I had a look on Southwark council website and was sent off to east Dulwich grove, couldn't locate the facility in question. The postcode given is se22 8pu, which refers to 79 -99 East Dulwich Grove. I am confused!
