  2. Dear James Please can you have a word to the bin people again. (You have done this for me before). Lat week i had my recycling bin placed on top of my lavender plants. (Plants crushed). Secondly, this week, some parcel string was taken out of my bin and looped round my gate which caught up my bicycle and resulted on me landing face first onto the road. :( (Only my pride is injured, but it was a bit upsetting).
  3. A boss of mine from years ago once produced her wallet of me to show me pictures of her house and her car!!!! "The house is my man, and the car's my baby!" To her credit she laughed about this herself. She was still a psycho though.

The options i outlined in my original quote are from a specialist broker !:(
  5. I know there are many subsidence threads on here, and I have consulted them. But here's the gen: My next door neighbour has just been landed with an insurance renewal quote from her broker for ?1500. This is a jump of 500 quid from last year. I have rung a specialist broker who has basically told me that they cannot do a whole lot better than this figure. Last year she spotted a crack in her house which turned out to be purely cosmetic and thus she got no dosh for that, but it registers as a claim (the surveyor charged the insurer in excess of a grand for a visit which lasted about 15 minutes - on the plus side there was also a letter saying previous work has held well and NO SIGN OF ANY MOVEMENT). No one seems to be budging on this one. Current advice is either pay up 1500 quid, or re-insure excluding subsidence (probs cost of 700 quid), or try and haggle with extremely uninterested insurance company. Would like to know if anyone has any constructive advice, as my little old lady neighbour was in tears over this, earlier today.
  6. Just been round with me this morning. The furniture looked OK, but I kind of thought teak should be heavier. Sounded a bit dubious to me.

    Horse meat

The most scary thing about this whole horsemeat saga for me is.....it doesn't matter if you are vegan, veggie or omnivore....HOW DO WE TRUST THE FOOD WE BUY? CAN WE TRUST LABELS? :(
  8. Also - Victoria B. as a "Somger/songwriter" - hahahahahahahaha!
  9. He has said at least once "You might very well think that, I couldn't possibly comment." I'm up to episode 9. I think the original is better. This is good - but I think there is a lot of plot padding in this one.\
  10. I think i might have done exactly the same at about the same time. What thinkest thou on HOC at the moment? How far through are you?
  11. Down at Barry Rd stores they have been chalking up cheery Olympic news, but what always amuses me hugely is the list of cut price booze offers under some chit chat about "Taking Olympic inspiration". Great store!
  12. Buckleypink...is the "little birdie" someone other than the person futher up this thread? I kind of got the impression, (possibly wrongly), that Rose would not be linked to this new venture - the writing on the window implies...farewell.
  13. .
  14. Just been down NCR and noticed that G and F is closing down. Very sad day. :(

I don't know if there are 2 or more, but I definitely remember nikki b., and her "advice" from earlier this year.
  16. Anytime - formal flower planting s Hermes in dulwich park and dulwich library gardens.
  17. Ah NikkiB, I see you're back again, promoting your moth prevention business again. Oh dear.
  18. What time is it on.
  19. I have just heard that some of the Brazilian Olympics team have been spotted in that most illustrious of venues....Crystal Palace Sainsburys. Just saying'.
  20. Thanks all - I knew you'd know.
  21. Hi all, I have just noticed (due to increased light flooding my home over the last week - hurrah!), that there is a whacking great hole in the carpet in the darkest part of my hallway. As far as I am aware, my knitwear is intact, and I haven't seen great swarms of moths anywhere, but do you think I really need to mothinate my entire house from top to bottom? I am pretty sure it is moth related - it's in a dark spot, and not in an area of heavy traffic. If I am honest, I am looking for an easy lazy solution. Does such a thing exist?
  22. Kinsale, and the very touristy bits of Ireland.
