  1. I find that Amazon deliveries only become trackable when they're about 8 stops away
  2. I was in the post office yesterday and they were so overwhelmed by parcels, incoming and outgoing, they had to stop accepting Evri returns
  3. Many of the goods available on Amazon aren't dispatched from an Amazon facility but direct from the supplier who use their own couriers which can include the post office. This is indicated in the item's information by the 'fulfilled by' information. Amazon themselves are certainly still delivering in Dulwich. Don't want to jinx it but I'm finding RM tracked deliveries very reliable. Even DPD messed up one of my deliveries this week but all now resolved.
  4. My experience with phone shops is that they hand the phone to you to key in passwords etc.
  5. I switched from one samsung phone to another Samsung phone about a couple of years or so ago. Now I may be misremembering but what I think I did was to 1. Open a samsung account which gave me access to Samsung's cloud. 2. Uploaded what i wanted to transfer to new phone to the cloud. It gives a choice of which categories to upload. 3. Log in to samsung on new phone then download stuff from cloud onto new phone. I was very hesitant but I remember it was quite simple and straightforward, I surprised myself. I do keep all photos and documents on other clouds which means I can access the same file/photo from different devices, and agree with Sue about accessing emails. Good Luck!
  6. and as has been pointed out on another thread, the 'news' has become a matter of (subjective) opinion rather than fact.
  7. Well, they would wouldn't they. Of course Kemi, members of the shadow cabinet and other political leaders in opposition are stirring it. The Times quotes ministers accusing Rachel of misleading them but are not named and who knows, if they're real, what their agenda is. The OBR is supporting her Rage bait is the word of the year and the right wing press have played their part in that.
  8. I had a frustrating (non) delivery experience with Yodel recently who I believe are now part of InPost. Fortunately the supplying company had some kind of customer service so got a refund Totally agree with last paragraph, one of the excuses I was given for non delivery was bizarre. Delivery companies and suppliers offer delivery on a certain day and when they're unable to fulfil this they lay a false tracking trail. Think Amazon may also do this.
  9. I see from Dulwich Society enews that houses in Stradella Rd, Turney Rd and Ruskin Walk will be creating window advent calendars. I love the idea - are any planned for streets in East Dulwich?
  10. It's definitely not Art Deco style, regardless of when it was built otherwise all houses built in the 1920s could be described as Art Deco. The estate agent's blurb desribes it as being built about 1914 in the style of Lutyens whose work has been described as being in the Arts and Crafts style with a heavy Tudor influence.
  11. Art deco or Arts and Crafts?
  12. Farage left Dulwich College 4 years before the Public Order Act 1986 when "expressions of racial hatred, which is defined as hatred against a group of persons by reason of the group's colour, race, nationality (including citizenship) or ethnic or national origins" were prohibited. That there is only one person who is prepared to say NF expresses racist views today only means NF has become more circumspect with his language.
  13. I believe they're mules
  14. When I got covid a couple if years ago it was just like that, especially the bit about it feeling like not as bad as flu but worse than a cold. Have you tested for it? Hope you get over it soon.
  15. The influence of Dominic Cummings was all pervasive. The report found the culture at no 10 was toxic, seems those with a sensible and realistic approach weren't allowed a voice.
  16. We are seeing the visible return of the Old Boy Network which Johnson and Cameron before him are part of, they looked after the OBN's interests and were in turn protected by it despite their incompetence. And Farage. Those who are not a part of it e.g. Starmer and Reeves, even Truss (deservedly so) are thrown to the dogs. We've been so caught up with race and gender politics we've failed to see the re-emergence of the 'ruling class'.
  17. We are certainly better as a country than implementing the latest vile proposals from Mahmood about seizing immigrants' jewellery https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/nov/17/refugees-jewellery-asylum-home-office?CMP=share_btn_url
  18. And those responsible for the catastrophe of Brexit - politicians, press, electorate - are deflecting anger on to immigrants rather than looking in the mirror.
  19. There's also the problem that as the trees are getting bigger they are producing more and more leaves year on year making it more difficult to keep on top of sweeping.
  20. This whole episode has played into the hands of the right wing media who want to see the BBC defunded. There are very many "civilians" who want the same. Be careful what you wish for.
  21. He has a history of making extreme threats and then backing down when he has won other concessions. Suspect he has a new DG already lined up.
  22. In answer to the title of this thread, the Telegraph is owned by Red Bird Capital who have plans to expand the paper's coverage into the US. This whole episode will have done them no harm there and increased their profile in the States.
  23. Oh Rockets ...
  24. Some posters introduce all kinds of falsehoods in their "search for the truth" which is in fact the last thing they're looking for. Their aim is to cause disruption and doubt, it's all a game for them, one step away from trolling.
