  1. I haven't made questionable and exaggerated statements that need to be evidenced. Did you see PeckhamPam's earlier post? "I think Jazzer is quite properly backing off-he can't be bothered with evidence but admits a feeling. He may wish to back off further after looking at these figures from a report by UCL at the end of 2022 which was a benchmarking comparison of crimes around the world The figures are homicides per 100,000 inhabitants - Milan and Rome have the fewest and then comes London. The report notes that most US cities have a much higher rate, and surprisingly (to me) Asian cities tend to come in lower. Barcelona (3.1) Berlin (2.9) London (1.4) Madrid (1.9) Milan (0.7) Paris (1.7) Rome (1.3) I think this is the first time I have ever bothered to take issue with what is posted on the forum but I feel strongly about the issue of people throwing untruths about. Vulnerable people read things like Jazzer wrote and curtail their lives out of fear. Fear brings mistrust of other people and so it goes on." But keep digging
  2. Jazzer - you didn't provide the stats that Sue requested for violent crimes against the person in international urban areas to compare with stats for London, you only provided data for London. It's like someone being proclaimed the winner of a race when there is only one competitor. Suggest you stop doing a Gregg Wallace.
  3. These figures are of course shocking but are restricted to London and the UK. Without the context of like for like statistics for other global cities they do not provide evidence for your assertion that
  4. Also, RSV jabs are only available to specific age groups and your GP will notify you when you're eligible. I think it's for those over 75. Nice to be too young for something.
  5. Not the NHS but the former Tory government
  6. And, if appopriate, take a urine sample
  7. Letter from Ellie Reeves and Goose Green and Dulwich Hill councillors regarding LL Post Office closure https://bsky.app/profile/elliereeves.bsky.social/post/3lbtwqear5c27 Link to Blue Sky post - hoping it works
  8. Deliberate scaremongering
  9. There was of course the rumour put out that the hairdresser next door had closed because of the LTN which turned out to be totally unfounded, the salon is still going strong. Is this another rumour you're starting?
  10. Just like it was 'in the good old days' eh?
  11. The actor Timothy West aged 90. He is survived by his wife Prunella Scales who was diagnosed with dementia some years ago.
  12. Are you saying that Asterisk was persuaded to steal it?
  13. It's possible that the testator named Glazer Delmar as one of the executors, which is quite a money spinner, and it is this that has been sold/assigned. Only guessing really. If I was in that position, I think I'd remake the will which would supersede the previous one.
  14. Perhaps those who live in DV get their staff to clear them away 😂
  15. The link is to an excel spreadsheet that has 6 tabs, each representing the 6 upcoming weeks. LL has been divided into 3 parts where leaf collection is scheduled to be carried out in separate weeks.
  16. Southwark Derangement Syndrome strikes again
  17. Well, I don't know him but I guess like many others I've admired the garden and wondered about who lives there. Now I know, it's a nice article, gentle and human.
  18. This is for waste water OUT though, not clean water IN
  19. South Acton Station is on the Richmond branch of London Overground, formerly the North London line. District line trains used to run there until 1959, I think it was a shuttle service from Acton Town.
  20. Not heard of it before but it makes sense.
  21. I've noticed that they've sold a few Victorian family houses they've owned which cost a lot to maintain. It makes greater economic sense for them to cash in on ED prices and put the money into new builds that are not so expensive to maintain.
  22. Well said @Rapunzel Besides, one freeholder subjecting their co freeholder to months of building work from which they will derive no benefit is hardly conducive to a good relationship.
  23. "In my experience loft space belongs to the freeholder of the property, now as you would be having a shared freehold the loft space would not automatically belong to the upstairs flat although that sounds counterintuitive." This is what I've always been led to believe and you, as part freeholder, would have to give your permission at the least or sell your share. Also, I believe in the cases of roof extensions to flats, planning permission has to be obtained even if what is proposed is within permitted development. Are you getting new leases drawn up with the purchase of the freehold or will the existing ones carry over? I think, for your peace of mind, you need to consult a solicitor.
  24. Thanks for this, looking further I think you're right, hub and library are separate entities though if anyone else thinks different do correct. Not really sure what Hub does though it seems they're upset they'll no longer be able to open a cafe.
  25. I'm sorry to learn the Carnegie Library may be closing. Is it possible to give more details as to how Lambeth aren't giving more support?
