I did but as I only saved £5 overall I'm not sure it was worth the extra admin on my part. Managed to do it all via email with NV who sent prescription electronically

Lordship Lane prefab garden
Jenijenjen replied to Sydney Carton's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Agree the garden is always a delight, old school planting. Queen Mary didn't die until 1953 so possibly she spoke to original tenants which I've always assumed, perhaps incorrectly, to be current tenant's parents? I'm also glad the new builds do not detract in any way from the garden. It must be one of the last lived in prefabs in London. -

It's all a bit WeWork -
'Get rid of and donate' will take them and redistribute to homeless and refugees. They will collect or you can drop off at specific times at St Faiths. If you email them they will give you full details. https://www.getridofit-donate.com/

Looks like demolition work has finally commenced on Solomon's Passage after residents were moved out five years ago. All four blocks will be demolished and replaced with a total of 91 homes, 33 of which will be "affordable" https://southwarknews.co.uk/area/southwark/demolition-begins-of-peckham-rye-flats-built-just-twelve-years-ago/

OP states they need to raise £400,000 to buy the third director out of which they can raise £200,000 so are looking to raise £200,000 by crowd funding means. For that kind of money, I would have thought they are looking to acquire more than the business, perhaps the ownership of a part of the building that includes the launderette's premises? -
Just seen it's possible to see which post a member is viewing currently if you click on their name. Isn't that a little creepy and invasive?

I agree with those who have posted in praise of the phlebotomy at TJ which is in contrast to the one at Kings. One time I had to have a blood test after an out-patients appointment, took a ticket and left the hospital to do another pressing errand for well over an hour. When I returned to Kings, my number had not yet come up. So I wonder if some people seeking an appointment at Kings may be offered an appointment at TJ instead?

Do GPs have to pay to send patients to Tessa Jowell?
Jenijenjen replied to alice's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I’ve also been offered (apologetically) short notice appointments at TJ, one with a doctor and twice with a nurse practitioner. I think they’re separate to the GP practice based at TJ, patients wait in a separate area. It seems the service is called the Enhanced Access Service provided by the South Southwark Primary Care Network, which seems to be an umbrella and resource sharing organisation for GP practices in the area. I have no idea whether GP Practices are charged, it would be interesting to find out, I think it’s more likely to come from a central budget. Anything that reduces the wait for a GP/a nurse appointment is a good thing. https://www.ihlsouthwark.co.uk/what-we-do/epcs/ -
It would have been more appropriate to post this information on the LTN thread in the Lounge, not given a thread of its own in the ED Section thereby creating an inbalance of subjects discussed.
-
These myriad threads regarding LTNs are dominating this section of the forum which before these tiresome incessant posts on the subject was varied with many subjects up for discussion. Now the subject of LTNs dominates, other ED issues don't get a look in and people really can't be bothered with this section of the Forum any more. I only visit purely out of habit. As I've said before, I don't have a view on the LTNs, I can see pros and cons, my gripe is that the subject has changed the nature of the forum from a stimulating place for local discussion to a borefest.

Rockets - what exactly is your connection with One Dulwich?
-
I’m not sure but I think Patient Portals are connected to hospitals whereas Patient Access is GP focussed. I have in the past arranged for a hospital appointment online - perhaps this was via a Patient Portal? Edited to add: this was about 5 or 6 years ago but as far as I recall (which may not be accurate) I received a letter in the post from the surgery (Forest Hill Road) with the website address and my log in details. Hope this isn’t a red herring!

This time it seems to be focussing on Rye Books, their windows are being cleaned til they sparkle. Anyone know what the filming is for?

Your complaint to Lime may have brought results as yesterday, walking down Barry Road, I saw a number of the bikes being loaded onto a white van. Or perhaps the council had intervened. There are certainly fewer of the bikes now in the area compared to a few days ago.

How to get rid of a brown bin?
Jenijenjen replied to Soylent Green's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You don’t need to do anything, they will collect it automatically if you don’t renew. It will take a couple of months though or more … -
That makes sense, I believe Forest is owned by the same people as The Fresh Flower Company two doors down
-
Oh Rockets I think we know who keeps posting on the subject to ensure it remains current 😂 Here you go again quoting incomplete and unknown stats to prove your argument. The majority of the posts on the thread are made by a low number of repeat posters, the number of posts by these members is high and does not reflect the general membership.
-
There is a hardcore perhaps still interested but I’m guessing the majority of us are bored to tears with the subject. Continuing to post in this section about the subject is to the detriment of the whole EDF.

Just as moving any LTN discussion to the Lounge doesn’t suit yours.

East Dulwich Grove before the Dutch Estate
Jenijenjen replied to ed_pete's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
“The Council acquired the site from the Dulwich Estate in March 1960. The existing old houses on the site were relatively large and, by the late 1950s, were in very poor condition; as their leases were due to expire in 1964. A report at the Dulwich Estate’s Finance and General Purposes Committee on 27th February 1960 confirmed that this land (the sites of Nos. 131-173 (odd) and 90-140 (even) East Dulwich Grove and ‘Lyncote’ and ‘Ferrodene’ Green Dale) was to be leased to Camberwell Council for 200 years from 25th March 1960 together with the benefit of the leases expiring on 25th March 1964. The ground rent was to be £750 up to that date and £1600 per annum thereafter.” https://www.dulwichsociety.com/the-journal/winter-2010/dulwich-estate -

Very interesting. This is the OS map from 1950 showing the houses that were where the Dutch estate is now.
