Yeah I know, but I don't have a problem with that. You could argue that a Nigerian restaurant isn't reflective of the wider area either. The question of whether both can coexist is more important that who goes where.

You don't have to *Bob* you've read the previous 137 similar threads started by Lou - you could probably do a reasonable job of duplicating the 3 pages without reading it.....

I'm a banker, and lo and behold think Sweaty Betty prices are ridiculous.

And my wife doesn't even like lattes...that crazy renegade girl.

PS: I look and sound the same as a normal person, so watch your back before I steal your neighbourhood from you

With a copy of "How to spend it", I trust!

Actually I do personally know a couple of bankers in ED (and even Peckham) but they tend to be pretty junior, or in peripheral roles (i.e. not actually "bankers" as such)

I've been away for four years - how wonderful to see the same people are making the same arguments - just about other shops. The last thread I managed to finish was the wonderfully entertaining Iceland one.......

Louisa - do you create a new post about daffodils every spring or did you resurrect the 2011 or 2012 thread?

As in, they work for an Investment Bank? I wonder what the general public mean by "bankers", surely just working for a bank is not enough.

I'm not sure the general public understand what an investment bank is well enough to understand the differences. I think in general though they mean the traders, capital market teams and M&A staff. Maybe also the risk teams?

Most people who work for an Investment bank wouldn't be considered investment bankers within the bank. That term is largely reserved for the M&A / advisory team

Cassius if I could resurrect that thread without fear of ridicule and being accused of trolling, I most certainly would. But for that reason, I choose not to bring it back every Spring. I do, however, like to mention it in fresh threads just to spark an ounce of decency in any would be vandalists, who may be tempted to desecrate our beautiful parks which are for us all to share and enjoy.

Louisa.

    • Sure - but to describe one councillor's hissy fit as a "fury" unrivalled by hell is a bit of an overstatement. Cllr Barber's attempt to hijack the moment by blaming austerity on Labour instead of the Lib Dem-Tory coalition is an amusing fumble too. It would have been better to keep quiet and enjoy the spectacle of Labour and ex-Labour councillors bickering. Labour is well-known for its ability to sustain internal catfights for years, if not decades!
    • Yes,  but as you said "at last" you had found a good reason not to vote for the greens, I wondered why you would want one. Plus it seemed (to me, at least) a very strange reason and didn't seem to have anything to do with the party's policies.
    • I also had a good experience with Andy, he was quick to respond and came out to resolve the issue at short notice. He was friendly and worked hard to find a solution to the problem with my tap which is now working like new again.
    • No, I clearly quoted you in my response; did you miss that? It’s obviously AI generated: any reasonable human being would be too ashamed to spin such arrant twadle.
