bumpy
Living in a rather old & cold Edwardian property we find that the floor level is very cold so are looking for something to put our 9 week boy in so that he can be with us in the living room but not held all the time - any suggestions appreciated. bumpy
he's quite long so has outgrown his moses basket already! do you know if the link-a-do is higher of the ground than a bouncer type chair? Such as this - http://www.mothercare.com/Fisher-Price-Fisher-Price-Rainforest-bouncer/dp/B000M5DD9I/sr=1-29/qid=1267972793/ref=sr_1_29/275-9923175-8509823?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42764041&mcb=core Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10305-play-pen-or-baby-chair-higher-than-floor-level/#findComment-303980 Share on other sites
alibo
I used the GRACO travel cot as one option and a very thick large wool rug with a padded play mat as another. The Nappy Lady
I saw a baby chair recently that you could have on three levels, floor, settee or table height. IIRC the base adjusted a bit like an ironing board. Can't remember the make but I bet if you google adjustable baby seat or similar you will find it. Sorry if earlier posts are referring to the same product.Molly Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10305-play-pen-or-baby-chair-higher-than-floor-level/#findComment-304002 Share on other sites

ClaireinSE22
Bumpy, have you considered the sling route? Yes, they are still on your lap but at least your arms are free for holding the remote control, bowl of pasta, G&T etc...... ClaireinSE22
We have had some respite from the Rainforest swing from babies R us - is only about 6" off the ground but you can put a blanket on 'em whilst they're in it, innit. The Nappy Lady
Ha - found it (was starting to think I had imagined it)!!!http://www.madeformums.com/reviews/baby-gear/bouncer-and-rocker-chairs/beaba-up-and-down-rocker/review/753.htmlI have no idea where I saw this, how funny, but I came across it recently, maybe whilst doing buggy research or something!I have to say, it is a LOT of money.....so would think long and hard about whether you really need it. Could baby be in a bouncy chair at the normal height with an extra layer on, or an extra blanket instead? Hopefully in a couple more months we will be into the spring 'proper' and your house will feel a little less draughty (I do understand what you mean about draughts at floor level don't get me wrong), but it is so easy to spend a fortune on accessories in the early days, and I hate to feel like I am encouraging you to do so!Then again, if you plan on having more I guess it will get plenty of use in the long run, and it would be good in the early days of weaning maybe too, rather than a high chair (hmmmm providing excuses and justification now when it isn't even me doing the spending!).MollyMolly Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10305-play-pen-or-baby-chair-higher-than-floor-level/#findComment-304043 Share on other sites

ludoscotts
hi we have concrete floors and found we had the same problem I bought a cheap single duvet and put that down doubled over and put a cheap fleece blanket on top so I could wash it easily. It worked fine she was always warm enough and it was padded enough so that if she toppled over she didnt bang her head on the floor Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/10305-play-pen-or-baby-chair-higher-than-floor-level/#findComment-304076 Share on other sites

melbourne groover
Put a buggy sheepskin into a bouncy chair (I recommend the fisher price vibrating number). Blocks drafts from below, not too bulky, they can snooze happily, also can be moved about as necessary! Keef
Bit young yet, but when he's 6 months, one of these might be good, and they have various uses, so will last a good while.
