Dust everywhere!

Hi,

Has anyone else noticed that there is dust everywhere in East Dulwich. I live just off Colyton Road and my car is completely covered, I noticed that the general are is really dust. Where the hell is this coming from? The new school/the Waterworks? I have no idea but it bloomin annoying.

I live on Barry Road and my car is covered in dust too. i noticed it yesterday and I also noticed a sign on Barry Road for a new car wash!!!

Hmmm, sounds like a conspiracy, could the carwash people be throwing the dust around?

Well, I think it's from the school. The scaffolding is down and it makes sense that this would throw up dust. Maybe they should get the kids to come and clean our cars!

I think it's the gritting that was done at the weekend (I sent a message to James Barber), it's all over Ryedale too. It's kind of cakey to wash off too - I really had to scrub at it to get it all off our car.

I don't think it's grit, it's grey for one thing, and my car is completely covered, including the roof, there's no way a gritter would do this, the mystery deepens...

in italy it's called the scirocco - a wind that comes from the saharan desert, bringing sand with it. When I lived in Naples the worst was when the scirocco was combined with rain - dirty red sandy stuff everywhere.

I noticed it yesterday on Lordship Lane and Pellatt Road by the Mag. Very strange

A large supply of bark chippings was delivered to Peckham RyePark and distributed by men with shovels and wheelbarrows around the park.

No idea if that has anything to do with the price of fish.

Wouldn't be able to tell on my car, it's only been washed twice in about two years :))

The cars in Colyton rd are covered as is the road , apparently due to the lorries back and forth from the work at Harris Girl Academy . This road has suffered from this for the last couple of years due to the work on the waterworks. As soon as they finished then the work started on the school.

But at least with the waterworks they washed the road - at times the road cleaning machine was working constantly. No such luck with school works - there is dirt everywhere

It's not just east dulwich. I saw some dust in Dorset a week ago. Or maybe it was eight days.
