Every computer game I've ever played tells me that the future starts with a "devastating war" followed by endless corridors of people throwing themselves idiotically at my blazing guns.

I'll make do with walkie-talkies in a world where people are STILL driving MkI Escorts.

Obviously the internet is for EDF Brendan, whatever could you be alluding to?

The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country

The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country

The Times is read by people who actually do run the country

The Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country

The Financial Times is read by people who own the country

The Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country

The Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is

The Sun is read by people who don't care who runs the country as long as she's got big tits!

A top quote Jah. Yes (Prime?) Minister wasn't it?

Not alot has changed in 25 years has it? Apart from maybe the morning star bit.

The daily mail reporting "news" in ways only the Mail could

British moustaches built the empire

and important news on that Diana inquest

Yes, that's right Mockney but I seem to remember it from before it appeared in Yes Prime Minister. I could be wrong of course.

The Daily Heil never changes. Moustaches helped us rule the world eh! Lord Beaverbrook would have preferred a certain Austrian with a moustache to have ruled the world if he'd had his way.

Other famous moustaches: Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Hussein.

I hate that f*king picture of Kitchener?s mug. The man was responsible for the genocide of my people. My grandmother survived one of his death camps but lost 2 sisters. Thing is they have started using that picture where I work in the ?All Staff? e-mails in some lame attempt to get staff ?involved?. Just makes my blood boil and I can?t say anything because the senior management of the institution I work for is populated exclusively with ex-military.

Bit of a downer this but it is not everyday you read the news and find out that one of your musical heroes has been killed in such an unnecessary way.

This has just fucked my whole day up. I was feeling great this morning.

Well basically the government and the police are involved up to their necks in organised crime and they will not/cannot put any proper steps in place to combat it. A lot of it is coming to a head at the moment. I follow the SA news quite closely and these are definitely ?interesting times?. Ask me in the pub if you want to know more. I won?t clog this thread up with it.

Problem is innocent people who are just trying to get on with their lives are the ones dealing with the consequences on a day-to-day basis.

    • I personally think is a great idea Bobbly and would love if there was a section for it. I wouldn't offer free gardening under the "for sale" section as I would expect something in exchange and wouldn't expect our cat being looked after for free under the "wanted" section, as an example.
    • Looking for used decking boards. Should be hardwood
    • I have fond memories of Govinda's I used to go there  back in the 90's (maybe earlier) for an affordable tasty lunch..I was wondering if its still around. Now I have to make a point of going there. Does anyone else remember a really affordable basement cafe run by the church in a street off of Golden Square? parallel to Regent Street? I also used to love the Vegetarian cafe on Neal Street in the basement (Neal Street Cafe?) and there was an inczredible inexpensive authentic Japanese resturant I use to go to with my Japanese friends (who introduced me to it) tucked away behind Long Acre where that brown brick modern building ('modern' I think it went up in the 90's!) now stands that fronts Long Acre and Neal Street..I think it was called Asakasa or something?
    • I wonder where he could be deported to, Hungary the obvious candidate in Europe, perhaps he would get on well with Modi?   Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage both said Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood should look at whether Abd El Fattah's citizenship could be revoked to enable his swift removal from the UK. Farage said in a letter to Mahmood: "It should go without saying that anyone who possesses racist and anti-British views such as those of [Mr Abd El Fattah] should not be allowed into the UK." So just racists views are ok Nige?
