Pleased to recommend handyman Aston (07490 947355) who did some jobs for me yesterday. A first visit, I texted him to describe what was needed and we agreed a time. He was punctual, polite and went out of his way to do a good job and ensure I was happy. Efficient, cleaned up afterwards, reasonably priced. As others have said he is very friendly and helpful. I will certainly be calling on his services again and recommending him to others.
So pleased to get Aston's details (07480 947 355) from the recommendations on here. I contacted Aston to put some units together but I had a limited time to get them done. Although extremely busy, Aston managed to fit us in with the help of Steve. Both were a pleasure to deal with. Great communication, arrived when they said they would, very polite and professional and did a fantastic, tidy job at a reasonable price. I am making a list of other jobs that they may be able to help with! Would highly recommend.
Another glowing recommendation for Aston from me. He came and did a small electrical job for me and could not have been nicer, fairer or more efficient. He is able to do a range of work both large and small and I will definitely use him again.
Aston and Steve did a range of jobs in and outside our flat over two days this week: painting, some electrical, generally fixing things. Couldn't have been nicer to deal with - reliable, considerate, and everything was done exactly as agreed and with great attention to detail. Highly recommend!
Aston sorted out a problem with our bedroom light, hung some pictures, sorted some wobbly doors on the hallway cupboard and fixed a broken shower handle all in about half a day. Very simple, very easy and all done to a high standard. Would highly recommend his services.
Another shout out for Aston and the amazing work he does on fixing up houses. Aston did quite a few jobs on my rental flat and provided a receipt which is important for tax purposes. My tenants were overjoyed with the work he did on the flat. Aston communicated with me about what was required, provided a reasonable quote and came in under the quote. Happy all round.
We Highly recommend Aston too! He came to fix a cupboard for me, also installed a hardwired electric oven as well. Really reliable and good rates. Turned up when he said he would and fixed everything with no hassle. I will definitely be calling on him whenever I need anything.

Aston was as great as all the positive reviews promised. Excellent communication, he arranged a time to come over very quickly. He hung a picture, (repaired the mess left by another handyman!) and put up a curtain rail very fast while chatting to my toddler. Highly recommended.

Coming out of my usual lurker status to add to all the recommendations - I left a voicemail just before Christmas as I needed some work done in the flat. Aston messaged promptly as soon as the holiday period was over, and came over to install a coat hanger, and replace the bath's sealant that was in a really bad shape. I found Aston to be very professional, prompt & clear in his communication and his work is very neat. Highly appreciated him leaving our flat in a very clean state after he finished his work! Will absolutely call him when I next have work to be done in the flat.

He can be contacted at +447490947355 for people who were asking for contact details.

Another recommendation for Aston. He replaced the hinge on my integrated fridge door when it wouldn't close. It wasn't a straightforward job and the part was hard to source but he made it happen. The cost was very reasonable. He's a real professional and a lovely guy too.

Important to remember that he mostly works on his own and is juggling many different clients and expectations. If you WhatsApp him your requirements he will get back to you as quickly as he can.

Another recommendation for Aston from me - I'm new to the area and contacted Aston after seeing such glowing references here. He has done a brilliant job, excellent communication and good value, plus a pleasure to chat to. Will be using him again.

Could someone send me his email address so I can send him photos. I need the ropes on a sheilamaid replacing and a curtain rail replacing. Both are at the top of a stairwell so both need a long ladder.

you can DM me or text me on 07543 842 160

I have employed Aston's services several times over the last few years. Putting up shelves, hanging large framed pictures, lighting, window blinds, couldn't be happier and would use him again. Very reasonable prices and great service. 07490947355

    • You may have seen an article in the paper today about Jewish leaders and notables calling on the UN and world leaders to sanction Israel [https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/oct/22/jewish-notables-open-letter-un-sanction-israel], "... Prominent Jewish figures around the world are calling on the United Nations and world leaders to impose sanctions on Israel over what they describe as “unconscionable” actions amounting to genocide in Gaza. Over 450 signatories, including former Israeli officials, Oscar winners, authors and intellectuals have signed an open letter demanding accountability over Israel’s conduct in Gaza, the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. The letter’s release comes as EU leaders meet in Brussels on Thursday amid reports they plan to shelve proposals for sanctions over human rights violations. “We have not forgotten that so many of the laws, charters, and conventions established to safeguard and protect all human life were created in response to the Holocaust,” the signatories write. “Those safeguards have been relentlessly violated by Israel.” ..."   There is also a petition we can sign to support them in their call for justice: Direct link: https://secure.avaaz.org/campaign/en/stand_with_jews_demand_action_loc_cp1/?tUwBCsb&v=502713833&cl=22394973010&_checksum=7dc99acb5dd4fc5a43a24e21772f51005ea239753e9ae3033d9f79ffd6119559 "For the first time since the ceasefire, a powerful coalition of Jewish voices have come together, urging world leaders to keep the pressure up until real accountability and freedom are achieved.Their call can shift the political mood and give leaders courage to act decisively -- Amplify their voices and stand with them: The demands of Global Jewish Voices: To respect and abide by the decisions of the International Court of Justice, noting their application also in the West Bank and East Jerusalem; to apply arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court; and to resist efforts to unduly pressure and influence and prevent the workings of both courts. To refuse any complicity in continued crimes and violations of international law against Palestinians by Israel, including by ending the provision of arms and other relevant goods and services; to use relevant leverage, including targeted sanctions on governmental bodies and individuals responsible for violations of international law, and suspension of relations with commercial entities contributing to these violations. To ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches all Palestinians in Gaza at the scale that is commensurate to their vital need, that the blockade is lifted and materials for reconstruction enter, and that there is a full Israeli military withdrawal. To refute false accusations of antisemitism that abusively deploy our collective history to tarnish those with whom we stand together in the pursuit of peace and justice. If you are of Jewish heritage you can also sign here, and we will add the number of your voices to support the Jewish call for justice. Posted: 22 October 2025"
    • I've actually met Luke Johnson and he's actually a very amicable, witty and extremely clever man. He's also created thousands of jobs and generated millions and millions of pounds of tax revenue for the government, offering goods and hospitality that countless millions of people have enjoyed over the decades. I'm not a fan of Gail's but I'm also not a fan of people who knock down good guys that have contributed a huge amount to this country.  Anyway, French Patisseries and southern hemisphere coffee don't belong on Farmer's markets.
    • What mandatory action would then be required of them?
    • Probably will be mandatory once Digital ID comes in.    They can then use the cameras on the tills too to bring all sorts of other useful ancillary controls, such as limiting how much alcohol you buy each week, or monitoring and limiting the carbon footprint of the food you buy (some foods now are already showing the CO2 emissions consumed in producing them).
