The Oglander pub - closing

I hear the Oglander pub on the corner of Adys Road and Oglander Road is closing in a month or so. It's going to become flats.

Is that the one of the infamous petition?

It is, I will be sad to see it close, but it isnt exactly in a great position currently so I guess there isnt much choice in the matter. I will always have great memories of the place.

It's always very sad when a pub has to finally call last orders and shut down. I was never a regular in the Oglander and it's certainly been a couple of years since I last went but I thoroughly enjoyed myself on each occasion that I went there and have very good memories of the place, good beer, good music, good food (jerk chicken and pork) and good vibes.

If I remember rightly, Snorky told the story on this forum of a load of people petitioning to keep it open, who had never ever, and probably would never ever actually go in and buy a drink.
