Green and Blue - a great place to eat on LL

Went to Green and Blue for the first time today. It was absolutely great - had the meat platter which was delicious and great VFM at ?6. Lovely atmosphere and the staff v. friendly. Really recommend it to everyone.

Tis great indeed Alex - and a hardy perennial on this forum - several threads have been started on it and the owners drop in from time to time (to the forum that is.. they practically live at the G&B sites, bless 'em)

Well, there were two waitresses there, both blonde and both absolutely lovely. My friend and I were rather smitten!

This is the wine bar with the deli attached to it? Rude and obnoxious staff in the deli made me vow to never return. I was really surprised because I thought the deli was quite new and they probably wanted to make an impression. They did. It was bad.

Have a read of this thread Charlie, basically people thought the same as you, then Kate (one of the owners) came on the forum and answered the critics including addressing the rude staff issue. It's now a great place, highly recommended.

Char1ie, does "Rude and obnoxious staff in the deli made me vow to never return." refer to Green & Blue or the East Dulwich Deli over the road. It's not entirely clear.

If it's the latter then I'll dig out the thread where people complained of the bad service. The owner handled himself less adroitly than Kate from Green & Blue, but by all accounts the service has improved a lot since then.

And for the record Green & Blue is great, never really put a foot wrong in my eyes.

hello - I have had one really lovely experience at green and blue, and one not so good - which is not surprising I suppose as it's very popular. Just to say it's not that amazing! Staff were nice though both times...
